Teleporting into our flying castle Arce Noctis I simultaneously remotely teleport both Valerie and Gasper in front of us and the look of shock and confusion still on their faces was pretty funny. Turning around slightly they both looked me directly in the eyes with their mouths wide open.
"Big Bro Ashera… are you a… king now? I'm so confused!" Gasper shouted out before rushing into my arms and hugging me tightly while Valerie looked at me with an equal amount of confusion.
"I am essentially the ruler of the vampire race now but not quite yet. If you have any questions ask away." I said with a smile on my face as I moved to the chairs with Alaric following behind me and Rufus going to make some refreshments.
"What do you mean you aren't the ruler yet? Didn't you say you were? And how did you even do that? Have you been hiding things from your big sis?" Valerie says with confusion turned pouting.
"Of course, I'm hiding things! Things are more satisfying when you learn them yourself, aren't they? So try and find out all of my secrets cuz I won't let you!" I said while laughing a fake mocking laugh making her pout even harder. "And I'm not king because I haven't shown my power. Most people will look down upon me until I show my power and authority. It'll probably take a month or so if I get frequent challenges. Next question?"
"Um, big bro where are we? This isn't your usual room it's way to… fancy. Your room is usually boring and bland but this room is sparkly? I don't know how to describe it but it's different!" Gasper shouted out in confusion and he's right. Usually, my room was a normal room a servant would have only slightly larger but still the same basic look.
"That's right we're not in the same place. We're in the floating castle Acre Noctis. I would dare to say this is the most fortified castle in the world with hundreds and thousands of protective, defensive, and supportive magic with dozens of high-powered magical attacks all over with enough illusion spells that it can't be seen by anyone without the power of a mid-class devil." I said with pride in my voice and it's definitely deserved. Rufus, Alaric, and I designed and secretly made this beauty over the course of our entire lives, it could be called a piece of our history, it's impossible to not be proud of it.
Of course, I didn't tell them all of the capabilities of this castle of ours but I'm sure they'll be revealed in the future. Besides if I didn't make it this strong it would be destroyed in the case of Trihexia attacking. By the way, the funding for this thing was crazy difficult to hide so we robbed a few people with huge amounts of embezzled funds but don't even get me started on getting materials.
"Wow that's amazing… wait did you say we're in the sky?! How are you even powering that! I don't know much about magic but wouldn't that take a lot and all those spells you said!? How much energy does that take?!" Valerie shouted out in concern and truth be told it was a concern for us too but luckily I had a simple solution.
There is a certain being, currently a loli, that travels the world with no care for the problems she, I guess it's she, causes for the surroundings and just travels around with seemingly no aim and on her travels she leaves residue magic all around. Not enough to do something with really but you can use it to summon her. Of course, if she answers is all up to her and she could just come to immediately kill you for annoying her.
Anyways I summoned her, bribed her, and got some scales in return and those scales are important. As the personification of infinity her scales infinitely generate and contain energy making running this castle the easiest thing in the world, luckily I'm the only person in the world who has these, and I used them to make a castle instead of a war weapon. Seriously I could probably destroy the world with one of these and enough time.
As for why I'm the only one who has them, do you really think people can just ask Ophis for her scales? She would just kill them and leave and nobody could stop her. The only reason it worked for me is that I know her weakness. Cookies and sweets.
Basically, I took a few of the candies Alaric is always giving me and gave her some, and then boom, a frequent friend who drops by for candy. I wouldn't exactly call us allies, which is good since she's the leader of the Khaos Brigade, but I would definitely say, friends. She comes and watches some shows with us sometimes.
"Don't worry we've got a good material running the place so we'll have no problems anytime soon. Anyways you got any more questions or do you want to play Dragon Quest?" I asked with a smile on my face as Gasper immediately ran to the nearby console and turned it on while Valerie sighed and moved to the couch in front of the tv.
"I still have some questions but Dragon Quest is more important so I'll ask later." Valerie said making me laugh pretty hard. I mean I just became the king of vampires and Dragon Quest is more important? I guess that's how Valerie is though. I guess we'll have to keep the questions until later.
