Chapter 12

Zero's POV

I went out the door and stairs appeared right after.

I take a deep breath and hold the twin swords, which are in my hands, tighter.

I walk down the stairs, slowly. When I reach the last step suddenly a knife was thrown towards my head. I ducked and look at the knife which was stuck on the wall, of the exact spot where my poor brain was targeted.

"That was close" I whispered.

I walk off the last of the stairs and there were 4 halls. Two strait and the other two are to the left and right. The carpet which led to the center of the first hall was covered in white, the second one was covered in gray . The one that led to the left was covered in black and the one to the right was red.

"This place freaks the shit out of me" I whispered as I walk to the center of the 4 different halls.

I look at the four halls and gulp. "I.. have to choose a hall, aren't I" I said to myself.

I chose the one which had the white carpet. When I started walking on the carpet everything was covered in thick white fog. I turned around, immediately regretting my stupid decision, the halls were not seen anymore. I look to my feet but I couldn't see them either, almost. The fog was so thick I had to take very slow steps that even a turtle would be twice as faster as I am.

"Would the other halls be nicer to me?" I asked myself. I didn't expect any answer which I got.

"I don't think so, master" Din's voice echoed through the thick and white fog.

"I told you to stop calling me master" I argued.

"I think that Lucifer-" His voice became darker and deeper. I am in deep trouble. "- told you that I am against you now"

I faced palmed myself, literally. "Shit"

The fog started to disappear as I saw a black and huge figure walking towards me with a black sword in it's hand.

"It's you, isn't it? Din" I assured myself if it was really him.

"Yes" He said.

He was huge. I mean.. He was tall as Death! He wore a huge black armor and his face was covered with a dark mask of steel. He held a black and long sword in his left hand.

"So that's your true form?" I asked.

"Yes, Zero" He lifted the sword to his mouth and licked it with his black and long tongue. The sword now was covered with his saliva which was dripping off of it from the edge. When the saliva touched the floor it started to melt and a dark hole was made. I am not sure how deep this hole is.

"This was.... Your saliva?" I asked in complete shock.

"Yes" He said before swinging his sword backwards and bringing it forcefully to my direction. A huge hole in the floor, like the ground was cut to two, was made seconds later which is directed to my direction. The cracking of the floor stopped at my feet.

I gulped.

"Don't tell me it was only a warm up"

"Oh.. You have no idea" He said before walking towards me with his sword being dragged on the floor behind him.

When he reached me he lifted his sword and swung it to my neck. I take a few steps back and fall on the floor.

"What the fuck was that?! It was so fast" I complained. While I said that Din has already swung the sword one more time, aiming for cutting me to half. I jump on my feet and pass him while he pulled his long swords out of the floor.

The mistake I have done is to show him my back. What I am saying is I don't eyes on my back so I can't see what's going but I knew what he was doing.

I lift my own sword and swing it over my shoulder. Seconds later our swords clashed.

"You have a good intuition." Din said before moving away from me as I turn around to face him.

"It was not intuition" I said before tightening the hold on my twin-swords and ready for an attack.

"Then what?" He asked.

"The obvious" I said as I lunched forward with my swords.

"You predicted my moves?" He asked as he defended himself with his sword between the two of my own.

"You couldn't do anything else" I stated the obvious.

"Why? I am not human remember?"

"Neither am I but remember you are immortal so if you had the intention of really killing me you would have done it faster and also you would have gone towards my head first where you have more chances of succeeding and me less chances of defending. on the other hand, if you would have attacked my legs I would be the one to cut your head off first. You are too tall to get to my legs so to get there you have to bent down and swing your sword hard enough to cut through and that takes a lot of time which gives me the advantage. And by the time you are doing that I would have turned around and cut your head off with a knife." I stated.

He chuckled then moved away before returning to his previous form.

I tilt my head to side and flash him a questioning look.

He chuckled again and bowed his head in defeat. "You pass the test" He said before disappearing and the white hall was clear from the thick fog.

"I can see the floor again!" I said before kneeling down and kissing the floor. "Yuck! Why did I do that?"

I look at the same direction I came from and start walking towards the exit.

"And what test?" I asked myself as I remembered Din's words.

"Congrats. Your first hall has been cleared. Now choose another" Lucifer's voice echoed though the whole place as I walk out of the hall.

I stand in the middle again and look around, wondering which hall should I choose now.

When I spot the white carpet, the hall I have been to earlier, it has changed color to green. I guess it means that pass the trail or whatever that was.

I choose the next hall and started walking towards it slowly.

I gulp as I stand at the entrance.

"Here goings nothing"
