56 Two Lucy's

When Alex made it to where he heard the argument happening, he stopped dead in his tracks. Instead of the confrontation with the army that he was expecting, there were just four people having a fist fight. The thing that stopped him was he knew one of the people.

'Huh... I knew Gajeel got sent here too, but I thought he went straight to the capital. I don't remember this encounter at all.' Alex mused as he watched Gajeel 'ask' as politely as he knew how, for information.

"Yo!" Alex said as he approached the group. "When did you drop in Gajeel?".

"Huh!? Alex! Did that freak Mystogan send you here too?" Gajeel responded in an annoyed manner.

"No, Mira and I followed after Wendy and pinky, when they flew into the portal without thinking. But we lost them because we had to figure out the lack of magic once we got here." Alex responded.

"Oh yeah, that weirdo did mention something like that. He gave me a pill for it. Were you able to figure it out?" Gajeel asked after a moment of pondering.

"Of course, it was nothing at all!" Alex responded dramatically. Gajeel just rolled his eyes and told his unfortunate "helpers" to get lost.

"Did you meet up with Natsu and Shorty?" Gajeel asked after the trio of hooligans had run off. "Come to think about it, where is Mira?" he followed up after not seeing her.

"Some stuff happened and we found her sister, apparently she didn't die but was sent to Edolas all those years ago. Mira stayed with her and I'll be going to get them before we go to the capital." Alex explained and Gajeel nodded.

"I tracked Natsu and his group here to this city. I followed the sound of fighting because... Well you've met Natsu before." Alex said with a smirk.

"Unfortunately." Gajeel deadpanned. They both chuckled lightly before they froze. The both felt a magical pulse before a tornado tore into the sky and crashed into a building further into the city.

"Were I a betting man, I'd wager that was probably them" Alex said in a flat, unamused tone. "Yep" Gajeel replied plainly. They both headed at a quick pace towards the crash site.

As they approached closer to where the crash site should be, Alex started picking up the sounds of another confrontation. "We found you Fairytail!" A man's voice said.

"Hey! Let go of me!" A very familiar voice called out in response.

"You're Lucy of Fairytail right?" Someone asked.

"Yeah I'm Lucy, Now get your grubby hands off of me you jerk! Cut it out, that hurts!" Alex held Gajeel back from jumping in to attack the soldiers when they arrived, motioning to him to just watch.

Lucy summoned Scorpio and blasted all the soldiers away at the same time Natsu and Wendy came out of hiding to try and stop her. Their entire group was stunned by the fact that Lucy could use her magic and instantly started barraging her with questions about it.

The two Lucy's were more interested in the fact that they looked so much alike to care about the barrage of questions. It didn't take long before the military reorganized themselves and surrounded them.

Lucy told Natsu to do his thing and take them all down, Natsu responded by telling her that they hadn't been able to use their magic since they got here and he wanted to know how she was able too.

Instead of responding, Lucy started to fantasize. "So this means, I'm the strongest one in Fairytail!" Lucy stated in a daze.

"Iron Dragon Roar!!" Gajeel couldn't stand her words and decided to intervene. "Oh I don't know about all that, considering you can't beat me!" He stated arrogantly to the very startled blonde.

"""Gajeel!!""" The group all called out together.

"Huh, what an interesting party you guys got going on here." Alex said as he approached.

"""ALEX!!""" they all called out again, before Wendy and Carla ran up to him. Wendy latched on to him in a fierce hug and Carla just stood to the side, with questions burning in her eyes.

"How are you here?" Wendy asked with happy tears in her eyes.

Alex told her about how Mira and himself followed them into the portal but lost track of them while trying to figure out this world's magic. Natsu and Gajeel had been in an argument about how Natsu was so weak and pathetic, but they were drawn to the conversation when Alex started explaining his story.

The two Lucy's were unnaturally quiet. Lucy A., because she had no idea what was going on and didn't feel like testing her luck against someone who could breathe metal and Lucy H., because all her thunder from feeling like a badass was stolen by the two monsters she knew very well.

After Alex was done catching them up to speed and they in turn told him of their tale he turned to Carla. "Why haven't you and Happy been using your magic? I feel like so many of the issues you faced would have been solved." He asked calmly.

"Our magic doesn't seem to work here" she responded, seeming a little downcast. Alex stared at her blankly for a couple seconds, just long enough to let the silence stretch to uncomfortable levels.

"You've known for a while now that Exceed's are originally from Edolas, you also have seen them using ability magic in your visions. Did you even try to use your magic seriously or just let the change in ambient magic force you to believe you couldn't use it?" Alex asked, with slight disappointment in his tone.

Carla was a very smart young lady and he had thought she was making great progress in her control of magic and temperament. He also knew she had many visions of Edolas since her control had increased and for her to not even try to force her magic once they got here was a little annoying for him.

"Are you saying our magic has worked all along!?" Happy and Natsu yelled out at the same time.

"Happy's and Carla's did because they are native to this place, it was because I had studied Carla's magic that I was able to make Mira's magic work here. But your magic still wouldn't work unless you ate one of these." Alex responded to Natsu before materializing two X-balls.

Natsu took one and ate it immediately and Wendy did a moment later. They were both amazed at getting their magic back and Natsu instantly challenged Gajeel to a fight for calling him weak.

"But we did try our magic and it didn't work" Carla said in defense of her actions.

"But did you believe that it would work?" Alex asked casually, making the two kitty's stop and think.

"You both know the effect emotions and feelings have on magic, if you didn't actually believe it would work, then it isn't going to work. I can promise that your magic works without any aids, so give it a try knowing that." Alex said to the duo.

Happy didn't hesitate and deployed his wings, he let out a triumphant yell and went to join Natsu in annoying Gajeel. Carla had a depressed and embarrassed look on her face as she also deployed her wings. She kept her eyes focused on the ground, not willing to look at Wendy or Alex.

She was about to start crying about their situation when she felt a hand on her head, looking up she saw Alex giving her a kind smile. "Don't beat yourself up about this alright. Use it as a learning experience and move on, neither of us will think any less of you no matter what." Alex said, Wendy nodded along before she grabbed Carla out of the air and wrapped her in a hug.

After the reunions were over Alex turned to the two silent Lucy's. "It's nice to meet you, My name is Alex. I'm a Fairytail Wizard that doesn't seem to have a duplicate here so far." He said to E-Lucy as he approached.

"Uhh, Yeah. Hi. I'm Lucy Ashley" E-Lucy responded.

"Did Mystogan send you here like he did with Gajeel?" Alex asked Lucy.

"Yeah, he gave me a quick rundown of what was going on and said the rest of the guild and city was turned into a lacrima to be used as power for the kingdom in Edolas. He said we needed to hurry before it was too late" Lucy said, signs of panic appearing on her face.

"Yeah, I know about that. I ran into two of the captains from that kingdom while I was hunting down Natsu and Wendy. They were Kind enough to tell me all their plans." Alex responded with a self satisfied smirk seeing the panic in E-Lucy's eyes at the mention of the captains.

"The captains of the royal army would never give out the secrets of their kingdom! They would rather die! You must be lying!" E-Lucy yelled angrily. Her outburst had drawn the attention of all the others, who were now listening to the conversation with rapt attention.

"Well they didn't give it willingly, I kind of had to almost kill them and then just steal it out of their minds. Even at death's door they were loyal. It's actually pretty commendable." Alex responded, a hand on his chin as if deep in thought.

"What captains were they?" E-Lucy asked, a dark expression on her face.

"Well, we showed up at your old guild location right as you teleported away. Then your slutty version of Erza tried to kill my girlfriend, so we had to kick her ass and break her weapon. I think she called it 'the ten commandments' or something." Alex said offhandedly.

"Then this dude in pink armor showed up to help her after she was beaten, I think Erza called him 'Sugarboy?'." Alex said, seemingly trying to recall the incident. "Well the pink dude tried to kill us as well, so we beat him up and I stole his weapon and shattered his armor." Alex finished by pulling the now magicless sword from thin air.

"You beat two captains!?!" "Erza is an enemy here!?" The two Lucy's yelled at the same time.

"Yes and yes!" Alex responded enthusiastically. "Though neither should be an issue. I left them magicless and stranded without a vehicle or way to travel. We should have plenty of time to go to the capital and get the city back." Alex said, his tone taking a dark edge.

He didn't tell them the goal of the king, as he didn't want to worry or panic them. He might tell them before they entered the capital just so they didn't have any reservations about fighting the army.

The entire group was in a state of contemplative shock as they digested Alex's words. They were all pulled out of their own musings when E-Lucy broke out in maniacal laughter. She had been on an emotional rollercoaster for the last little while, and hearing about the captains being beaten, she just laughed.

"Hmmm, I think she might have finally lost it." Happy said seriously in a loud whisper to Natsu.

"There wasn't much to lose, but I think you're right," Natsu replied just as seriously.

"Scary Lucy doesn't seem so scary when she's laughing though." Happy followed up.

"Don't call me 'Scary Lucy' you jerks!" E-Lucy Yelled, before kicking the duo into the ground. Alex was amused, he could tell that Natsu could have easily dodged or blocked her kick, now that he had his magic back but intentionally let it hit him. 'I wonder if he is a secret masochist?' Alex thought.

Alex took a look around the barren courtyard they had taken over, nobody had bothered to approach them after the army had been blasted back for the third time. The army had approached 2 more times after they started their discussion, but Natsu and Gajeel had been fighting each other both times and the soldiers had become unfortunate casualties each time.

Figuring they had spent enough time here and wanting to get back to Mira and Lisanna, Alex started making some transportation. He made an Ice copy of a small airplane, big enough to fit everyone comfortably. This one wasn't made for speed, but convenience. It wouldn't be as fast as his fighter-Jet but it would be more practical for casual travel.

It ended up looking more like an oversized bush plane than a transport jet, but he didn't care, it would serve its purpose. When he was all finished with the plane he turned to E-Lucy, "Do you want to come with us? We will be heading to your guildhall first to get Mira so we can drop you off. Consider it as thanks for helping my friends." Alex said to the stunned girl.

Her eyes had gone wide when he started making his airplane out of pure magic and she fell into a stunned stupor. "Uhh, Um sure, I guess." She mumbled a reply.

"Alright! Let's go then!" Alex called out for the benefit of everyone. "Hop in and sit down!" He said after casting Troia on himself and the others who might get motion sickness. Everyone did as he said and before long they were flying casually towards the Edolas Fairytail.

(A/N. Well, this will be the last chapter for the summer. I hate to leave it on such a boring chapter but I really am finding it hard to want to write with nice weather. The story will pick back up again in the Fall. Until then, have an awesome summer!! xD )
