S-Class Operation

Alex and Porlyusica entered her home in the woods, it was very out of the way and they wouldn't be bothered here.

"Would you like real healing magic?" Alex asked her when they sat down.

Porlyusica frowned at this, she was originally from Edolas so her body was not the same as those born in Earthland.

Over the years living here it had adapted to the change and started to absorb Ethernano but she was never able to learn her own actual magic, forever forced to be a 'holder type' wizard.

She had gotten proficient at potions and elixir's but not her own brand of magic.

"What are you on about boy? I do not have time to humor you!" she said getting slightly upset.

"I know you are not from this world, if I am not mistaken you are a native of Edolas, our sister world right?" Alex asked, already knowing the answer.

Porlyusicas eyes went wide before she muttered "How?".

"That is unimportant, what is important is if you want healing magic or not?" Alex said asking her again.

He had studied Wendy's Magic a lot over the time she was spending with him and was confident he could even create his own Sky Dragon Slayer wizards if he had the magic capacity to do it, unfortunately he didn't have that much power yet.

But the amount of power required to give someone just straight up healing magic was way more reasonable.

When he had originally learned healing magic he knew right away it was not Sky Dragon Slayer magic, Grandeeney had taught Wendy the healing spells because she wanted her to be safe.

To force that kind of Magic onto another would be painful, especially someone like Porlyusica whom was not from Earthland.

After studying her in Laxus's room he knew it was possible though.

The process would be very similar to how a second gen Slayer gets their power, through a lacrima.

It wouldn't be as powerful as Slayer magic, but it would be easier to master.

"Of course I want my own magic, but it isn't possible" She said in a sad tone after a few moments.

"I can give you that power, but the cost is pain" Alex said to the depressed old lady.

"What?!" she yelled at him in alarm.

"Just like how the people can become Slayers through a lacrima so could you gain your own magic. You will be able to master it the same way and eventually make it your own" Alex said calmly.

"How sure are you that it will work?" she asked sceptically.

"100% sure" Alex said without hesitation, "You will be in pain for about 15 hours, the amount of pain relies entirely on your compatibility with the magic and your own will".

"Do you need to be present during those hours?" she said hesitating.

"No, there is no danger to your life. But I can be if you would like?" he replied.

"I accept the magic, but I only want you around as long as you need to be. I don't like people very much" She said with some conviction.

"Very well, we can start right now" Alex said as he started channeling {Mana Manipulation} into the palm of his hands.

Healing magic manifested itself in many elements, but the one it was most compatible with was nature.

Nature had by far the closest connection to both life and death than any other magic.

It took Alex almost 4 hours of constantly channeling nature magic into a lacrima before it solidified, signifying that it was complete.

Wiping sweat from his forehead, he went to find the old lady and get it over with.

The initial assimilation process was not a pleasant thing to watch, unless you liked hearing someone scream.

Once the lacrima was fully inside her body she stopped screaming but was clearly still in pain.

Checking over her body one last time to make sure everything went as it should, Alex left her house like he promised he would.

Arriving back at the guild hall he went back up to Laxus's Infirmary room.

He needed to let him know what was going to happen for the operation.

Arriving in the room he found Laxus and Makarov having a chat, they appeared to be reminiscing the past.

Alex told them it would take about a week for the preparations to be complete and that Laxus should focus on fully recovering his mana/stamina. It would go better if he was at his peak physical and mental condition.

Letting Makarov also know that nobody should disturb Porlyusica for about 24 hours he left them too their chat.

The rest of the day passed quickly, he hung out in the guild bar area talking and laughing with people.

Cana Alberona showed up in the evening and introduced herself to the new members. Cana was a very attractive young lady who seemed perfectly comfortable walking around with just a bra for her top, Alex certainly wasn't gong to complain though.

'More power too her!' he thought as he checked her out.

Watching her drink was another story all together, she could easily out drink everyone in the guild, maybe even at the same time.

She had a very laid back personality and got along with everyone, though she didn't seem to participate in the guild brawls that started almost every hour because of Natsu and Gray.

He also met Elfman Strauss, Mira's little brother. Though calling him 'little' would be doing him a disservice.

Elfman was a big man with a well built body and white hair matching his sister. He has a scar under his right eye and wears a long blue jacket. He was a nice guy but it did not take him long before he was mixed up in the 'hourly brawl'.

Alex was usually avoided the brawls as nobody wanted to fight the person who 'beat Laxus', Gray and Natsu being the exception to that.

Cana and Elfman were stunned when they heard that, but had very different reactions to the news.

"Oh yeah!? Maybe we will have to spar sometime eh? Just one on one" Cana said with a wink and slightly seductive voice.

Elfman just shouted "You must be a REAL MAN!" before Natsu told him to shut-up and they started fighting.

The next day Alex went to find a realtors office so he could find a place to live.

He didn't have much cash remaining after giving some to Wendy and Carla, but he had no intention of buying a house. He just needed a plot of land big enough to serve his needs and he could create anything he wanted.

Finding a nice 2 acre plot within a 10 minute walk to the guild, he got a smoking good deal on it.

It had no buildings as the original owner was going to build a hotel on it, but ended up having to leave the city before he could though and it was being foreclosed by the bank.

Drawing up an agreement with the bank that he would do 300k jewel down with the rest before the end of the month, Alex was happy.

He still had 20 days before the end of the month and could get the rest of the money in a day if he really wanted too, he would just have to sell some more stuff out of his {Inventory}.

Storing the Deed to the land, he made his way over to it. It was already all cleared so he would have to plant some trees if he wanted some.

'One thing at a time' he thought happily as he planned in his head how to design his house. He had an errant thought to build it underground but quickly got rid of that.

'Can't be a cave dweller all my life now can I' he thought with a smirk.

Drawing out a rough lay-out of the house on the ground, he waited for the sun to go down. He knew people would question a house going up overnight, but it was better than having them actually see how it was done.

Figuring he could get the underground portion done during the day, his figure slowly sunk into the earth.

The underground portion was just a copy of the big pool area he made in his cave, this time with a more stylish and modern finish too it, he couldn't make it as deep underground as he wanted though, because of he mechanism used to move the city during the "Guildarts shift".

'What a pain' he thought.

Coming back above ground he started working on the basement and anything that wouldn't stand out to a random passerby.

When night finally fell he began working on the shell and exterior, he had a lot of enchanting to do to it in the future so he needed the exterior done for privacy.

When the citizens of Magnolia Awoke the next day and headed to work, many where asking themselves if they were going crazy and just never noticed the new mansion on a plot of land left empty for as long as they could remember.

The next day he went to the guild to tell Wendy and Carla that his house was almost done and they could stay there if they wanted too.

He didn't spend too much time in the guild hall, just greeted the usual early morning people and had a quick breakfast.

He made a trip to see how Porlyusica was adapting to her magic and was pleasantly surprised.

Suggesting that she practice some more and that they would start the procedure at the end of the week, he headed back home.

The rest of the week passed in a blur for Alex, he spent his days enchanting his house and his nights hanging out at the guild.

The 'camp kits' had sold like hot cakes and he now had enough money to pay off the loan on his land, it was all his.

When the weeks end rolled by he gathered Laxus, Makarov and Porlyusica. They went to a secluded spot in the forest near the old lady's house.

When they arrived in a clearing Porlyusica waved her hand, tree roots started coming out of the ground and coiling around themselves to roughly form a thin operating table, a layer of leaves covering the top so it would be comfortable.

"Since when can you use 'ability magic'??!" Makarov asked in alarm. He had known the old lady for a very long time and even knew her story.

"That's none of your business you old fool!' She snapped at him with her usual vigor.

Makarov gave Alex a sidelong glance but choose not to ask any further.

"Take off your top and get on the table" Alex said to Laxus. "We are going to have to restrain your limbs for the operation, but this is for our safety. We wouldn't want to have to deal with you trashing around after all" Alex continued.

Laxus simply nodded with a slightly apprehensive look on his face.

Laxus climbed onto the table and got comfortable, Steel chains with inlaid silver manifested out of thin air and wrapped around his limbs, stomach and across his chest. They were snug, but did not restrict his breathing.

"The sliver is connected to the earth and will act as a route to ground for the residual lightning to travel. This will keep it away from us and allow for us to not have to divide our focus" Alex started explaining.

"I Will give you something to keep in between your teeth so you don't bite off your tongue during the initial shock" He continued in a professional tone.

'Damn I feel like a real doctor about to do surgery!' Alex thought with a smirk.

"How long the process takes will be totally up to you" Alex said as he started explaining the steps Laxus had to take.

"It is going to feel like a small explosion went off in your chest and shattered all your organs, next it'll change to feel like someone lit the shattered remains on fire while they were still connected.

I will hold the power in your body and keep you conscious, Porlyusica will monitor your vitals.

Once you have calmed down a bit after the initial shock, you'll need to circulate all the remaining power through every part of your body. Do this until there is no more residual power and the operation will be complete" Alex said, finishing up his explanation.

"Sounds easy enough, though you don't exactly paint a pretty picture" Laxus muttered to Alex.

He simply chuckled as he gave him something to put in his mouth so he wouldn't choke on his tongue.

"Alright, let's start" Alex said gesturing to Porlyusica.

They had already gone over what the procedure was going to involve and it require her to do, so they didn't have to go over her part.

Without wasting anymore time Alex placed his hand on Laxus's chest and shattered the lacrima in his body.

Laxus started screaming, the item in his mouth muffled the sound quite a bit but it was still painful to watch.

Off to the side, Makarov was gritting his teeth and resisting the need to go pull Laxus out of there. It was a hard thing for any 'parent' to watch.

Laxus calmed down enough to start cycling the mana through his body after about 5 minutes, this had to do with Porlyusica's knowledge of anatomy that allowed her to pinpoint and heal his internal wounds quickly.

Despite being in immense pain, Laxus was still a very skilled Wizard. He did not seem to have much trouble cycling his power and it only took them about 2 hours to complete the whole thing.

When Alex saw the last of the power being absorbed into Laxus's body he turned to Porlyusica, receiving a nod that everything was fine he released the hold he had on Laxus's mind.

The built up stress and fatigue knocked Laxus out almost immediately.

Thanking Porlyusica for her help he turned to Makarov and gave him a 'thumbs-up'. Leaving Makarov to go check on Laxus. Alex sat down to take a small break.

"Thank you for everything you have done for me and the boy" Makarov said as he sat beside Alex.

"It was no problem, it should be 1 more weight off his shoulders so he can focus more on dealing with his 'Image' problem" Alex said with a smirk.

Makarov just chuckled at that "When we make it back to the guild, I'll be announcing that you have officially joined the S-class rank, I don't think anyone would dispute that title even without the test" Makarov said after a moment of silence.

"Thank you, that should make it a lot easier when I set out to try and accomplish my goals" Alex said with a smile.

He didn't need the title, but he could not argue the fact that it would make information gathering easier.

"What is your goal? If you don't mind my asking" Makarov questioned curiously, there was still so much they didn't know about Alex.

"I am a Demon Hunter. I will explore the world and kill any Demons I find along the way" He said, not giving a real answer while staring into the sky.

"Hmmm" Makarov just hummed as an acknowledgement also staring at the sky.

A little more insight into what Alex is actually capable of. Shit like this happens a bit more in the upcoming chapters for different characters. Though hopefully in a way that keeps the story interesting.

Enjoy.
