8 Chapter 8

I realized that just gaining numbers wouldn't be enough, they ought to have strength if they want to protect themselves, I was confident in my magic but what about them?

"Noel…"

"Yes, my lady?"

"What's your bloodline magic power?"

"Oh? My bloodline magic is called [Dark Rule], as it gives me easy and smooth control over dark magic spells and other things related to dark magic, but the thing I am most proficient to use is strengthening my body."

"I can easily double or triple my physical strength for some time and as long as my mana does not run out."

'Woah, she sure has a cool ability, wait, if she had such a cool and strong ability, why wasn't she mentioned in canon even once…. hmm. There could only be two possible reasons, one that she was yet to be introduced in the future arcs, or the other is that she probably died here in these streets as a child have I not saved her?'

'The latter seemed more plausible to me…'

"Noel, I want you to focus more on getting stronger yourself than managing the business as of now, I want you to be strong enough for the future…"

"My lady as expected of you, I have already been training daily since we met to be more useful to you. I shall do my best."

"Un, good, I hope you can teach the twins as well, of course, I will look after their magic training, you can see to their physical training, how about it?"

"As you say, my lady"

After parting with Noel, I called the twins, who went out to buy rice and other ingredients from the shop.

I called them to my room and they both hurriedly came there.

They, for some reason, had a heavy red flush on their faces.

"Huh? Are you both cold or something?"

I was kind of worried for their health but they shook their heads at the same time.

I guess they must be working hard…

"You guys are new and don't need to push yourself at all, if you feel burdened, tell me about it okay?"

They nodded still flushing.

"So, the reason I called for you guys here was to know about your bloodline magic..."

They instantly made a dazed face and quickly came back to reality as their blush faded a little.

"The thing is I and Noel will be training you both in magic and physical strength from now onwards for the future."

I explained to them the details as easily as I could.

The reason I was trusting these twins so much was the innocence they were carrying in their eyes and their determination to survive in such a cruel environment.

Even if worse come to worse, I have made up my mind to just devour the traitors using my power.

I absolutely can't afford to have a traitor in my group right now when it has started growing.

"So, what are your abilities, can you tell me its name and function if possible?"

The blue-haired twin was called Ivy while the silver-haired one was Iris.

"Umm, mine is called [Water Control] and Iris has kind of weird one [Motion control]."

"Mine can control water and helps me have a great affinity with water whereas, as for Iris, she is only able to slow down feathers or leaves falling on the ground or fasten them to fall, I don't know much about it nor do she."

Iris bent her head down a little considering her ability to be shameful.

Seeing so, Ivy patted Iris lightly.

'Hmm… Interesting, especially Iris, she might be able to affect time to some extent but well that is too far-fetched, but still both of them happened to have decent powers which could be put to great use.'

Ivy was the active one out of the two while Iris was kind of reserved and shy.

But they were mature enough for their age to understand my plans to some extent.

"Yes! We will do our best!"

'Um, they look so cute being serious like this… I can't help but pat them'

Pat Pat.

"Good."

They blushed again but soon left.

Days passed by as I continued my small business as usual and while at it, I and Noel started training the twins.

I, unfortunately, was not good in the body or physical strengthening magic and Noel specialized in that.

I couldn't help Noel but it seemed my help was unneeded.

She seemed knowledgeable about body strengthening and had techniques that she would daily practice to master.

It makes me more positive of the fact that she came from a noble family or at least was born in such a family before somehow ending up here but I couldn't get enough time to ask her about it, well, it's not that necessary at the moment anyways as I am sure of Noel's loyalty.

I taught the twins about how to control magic, how to increase the mana pool, how to control mana flow inside the body, and how to cast spells which I could teach.

The twins had been diligent as well, aside from helping me in baking biscuits and cookies, they were fastly catching up.

Ivy, the dark blue-haired twin, was pretty good with Noel as she seemed quite compatible with body-strengthening magic and force magic whereas Iris, the silver-haired shy twin was good at magic and she seemed quite thirsty for knowledge as well.

There was this one time when she looked at me with the crazed eyes of some maniac as she kept bombarding me with questions about basic mana theory, she was even mumbling to herself crazily about the greatness of magic.

I was scared for a moment there as she seemed too obsessed, I don't know what will happen when she starts studying magic more properly than now, I was just explaining to her, the basics after all….

Last day of the year, it was a very eventful year for me, had many new experiences and met many amazing people, learned a lot of skills.
