Demolished Heart

“CALIMESA! ZEKE! MCKENNA!” Staring at their dead bodies, as I fight the hold of a guard; twists and turns as I continue to struggle, to break free, halting. Just behind their dead bodies is Lexa smirking, staring at her as the smirk never slips off. Her eyes challenging me to say something; feeling my anger grow as I snarl at her, thrashing around in the guard's arm once again, trying to get the conniving bitch.

"Their quick."

"I can see that, but that doesn't explain why McKenna brought them here.", the first person says, then glares at McKenna.

"I bloody told you, their not a threat.", she huffs.

"They may not be a threat to you but to us, they are.", they both say together.

"Look, do you mind if you don't talk like I'm not fucking here.", I growl.

"Someone has a temper.", the person to my left taunts.

"Your right, love."

"Guys.", McKenna gives them a pointed look.

"She's not wrong."

"Your making her pissed.", McKenna points out.

"Maybe she needs to learn how to control her temper.", the first newcomer states.

Rolling my eyes, standing up and heading to a couch, when I got close to the other newcomer, I fake an attack, making them jump back while I have a smirk on my face.

"Ruth!", she yells.

"What?", I say while sitting wrong on the couch.

"See, she just proved our point!", the first newcomer exclaims.

"What did I prove?", I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"That you're a threat to us.", the second newcomer explains.

"Are you sure?", I ask.

"Of course, we're sure!", they both exclaim.

"I'm not so sure.", I state.

"You attacked him."

"No, I faked it.", I point out.

"Still, you 'attack' him."

Groaning as they lost my point to them; leaning back against the armrest, then tilting my head towards McKenna.

"Why did you bring me here?", I ask.

"Agreed, we would like to know as well.", they say.

"Jesus, did y'all think that maybe I did this to miss with you guys?", she asks.

The two newcomers open and close their mouths like a fish while I roll my eyes, then sitting up and leaning on the back of the couch.

"Yeah, no. What's the real reason?", I state, then ask.

"Your no fun, Ruth.", she says before facing the newcomers, "If you two look closely at my shoulder you'll see a Drause.", she says.

They both nod their head as they see what she's talking about; they continue to share at it in confusion, but before they could say anything, McKenna talks again.

"This Drause was given to Ruth, and Ruth here told it I'm not a threat to it."

"So?"

"So, that means she isn't a bloody threat!", she huffs.

"You want us to believe that?", they ask.

"I'm done with you two people pretending that I'm not fucking here.", I state then hop over the couch and walk to McKenna and say, "I really don't understand why you would bring me here, but I know is I rather not be somewhere that I'm not an outcast like in my home."

She opens her mouth, but nothing comes out. As I walk away, the Drause comes flying onto my shoulder.

"You can't go back through there.", the first newcomer yells.

Groaning, I turn around and head to the back way. As I do this, the newcomers have smirks on their faces, which makes me ball my fists so I don't lash out at them. Pushing back the tree branches, while walking through to see a landscape that's never seen before; pixies and fairies flying around, smiling at the sight. Catching sight of the animal pixie flying towards me, tilting my head as they come right in front of me.

"Hello again.", I say.

"You helped me in the village.", they exclaim.

"Yes, did that stall person actually fix your home?", I ask.

The animal pixie shakes their head before speaking, "They paid for it, but someone else fixed it."

"At least you got it fixed.", I say.

"Do you have a pixie to help with your creature?", they ask.

"No.", I say while tilting my head.

"Drause needs an animal pixie to balance their animal instincts to have owners.", they explain.

Glancing at the creature to see it nodding its head; turning back to the pixie before moving out of the way and sitting down.

"How do I know which animal pixie I need to choose?", I ask.

"Follow me!", they say.

Following them as they fly through other pixies and fairies, ducking and dodging until they stop.

"Welcome to the animal pixie area.", they say while other pixies come out.

"This lovely person has a Drause, but no pixie."

"What creature are you?"

"I'm part dragon.", I answer.

Most of the pixies fly away, which makes me look over at the pixie that brought me here. That makes them shrug, rolling my eyes of the pixie before looking at the other pixies.

"I would say me but I'm already taking care of animals.", the pixie says.

"What type of creatures are your friends?", another pixie asks.

"A strawberry Satyr, a Drow, and a Western ice dragon.", I state.

More pixies leave until it's just the one pixie from before and a pixie that has an eyepatch.

"You seem the only one that hasn't left.", I say.

"I've been through worse.", they replied.

"Worse?", I say.

"Mhm.", they hum before pointing at their eye and say, "I lose my eye because I wanted to help an animal."

"Would you like to help me?", I ask.

"What would I get?", they ask.

"You can't-"

"What would you want from me?", I ask.

The pixie stares at me in shocked as they couldn't believe I would agree to anything.

"Are you insane?", they ask.

"No, if I want help, I'm going bargain to make sure that they feel welcomed and not being taken advantage.", I explain.

The pixie nods its head and flies off, turning to face the one-eyed pixie; watching them as they think what they would want but by the look on its face.

"Would it be easier to discuss what you want than you thinking about?", I question.

They nod their head which makes me smile because they didn't think that I'm trying to take away their bargain.

"Do you want money?"

"No, instead of money could I have a place to sleep?", they ask.

"That works.", I say while nodding my head.

"Are you willing to give me food or not?"

"I'll never withhold food from someone, so don't worry about that.", I respond.
