Chapter 41: He's still a commoner

The king fell silent.

The guards and commanders watched him in utter disbelief. He just refused the king's request. What was he thinking?

To be a knight was every male's dream in the capital these days. There was honour in it and the pay was also high. How could he refuse to join? 

And the king's daughter… The princess was simply stunning. So to think someone would reject her. Maybe it was because he hadn't seen her before but still… it was a bit too audacious to refuse the king.

"Haha!" The king suddenly started laughing. "I didn't think there was such a character in the empire." He remarked and laughed again. "So, dear hero, what do you think I can request of you that will not be rejected?"

"Anything that has to do with killing demons is fine by me." Justin said with confidence in his eyes.

The king stared at him for a while and then laughed again.
