Chapter 13: True heart

Justin furrowed his eyebrows. How was this 'True heart' supposed to make him stronger? It was practically dead weight to him.

(You're probably wondering how this skill will add to your development. Well, it will as you will need faith to work, isn't it?)

"I don't follow!"

(You lack faith in people so there is no way to help them. If you see that not everyone is as diabolic as you feel they are, your reliability on others will grow!)

"I don't need to rely on any freaking person." He spat out disdainfully. "Besides, what… ?"

(In addition, the more you see the good in others, the more your reluctance to help reduces.)

Justin stayed silent. This system was hellbent on making him a goody-goody.

"System, can I turn it off?" He asked.

(Negative!)

He stared at the window and felt like breaking it but it was impossible to break. This irksome nuisance… What should he do with it?

"Fine!" He grit his teeth. "But I'm sure I'll be seeing more bad people than good, you hear me?"

(Think what you must!)

"Hmph!" He checked the colours that were attached to people and what they indicated!

{TRUE HEART}

[Blue: Love, sympathetic and has kindness at heart.]

[Red: Greedy, selfish, dangerous and immoral]

[Yellow: Guilty, selfish but remorseful and wants to be good]

[Orange: Twisted, a little sense of good but dangerous]

[White: An absolutely pure heart of good and kindness]

Justin took a look at this and twisted his lips.

"What's the difference between the first and last? They're practically the same, though I don't think such people exist."

(They exist, like the girl from the guild.)

"You're just trying to tell me that she was right and I was wrong for doubting her, right?"

(....)

"Anyway, since you say they exist, I'll believe you but for the white, I cannot believe there is anyone who is purely good without fault." He added, placing his hand at the back of his head. "Anyway, I'm off to buy a house."

Justin bought a small house that was a bit far from others. He didn't want to be disturbed on a daily basis simply because he had neighbours and definitely didn't want to be interactive.

The two girls were extremely delighted to see that they would be living in a house for the first time in their lives.

Justin could relate to that feeling as it was the first time he would be living in a house as well. And it wasn't just any house, it was his own. The one he bought with his own money.

He felt extremely ecstatic.

For once, he felt he did something really right. He did something he never thought he would do. They were all dreams in the past but now it was a reality.

(This joy… )

"Don't ruin the mood!" Justin interrupted, rolling around in the large bed he had purchased.

Then suddenly, Alexia and Alicia barged in with excitement sparkling in their eyes.

"The house is so big and beautiful and huge! And the backyard is huge as well. Really big!" Alicia praised, spreading her arms wide.

"Yeah, and there are beds, rooms, what's the other one?" Alexia asked, placing her hand in her mouth.

"I think they're called quilts." Alicia said and she nodded.

"Yeah, yeah! That too!" They both turned to Justin with sparkly eyes.

"Thank you so much for this honour! We'll do our best not to dirty or break anything!"

"Who's dirtying or breaking anything? If anything breaks, I'll just get a new one. No need to fuss over it." He said and they bowed. "What now?"

"It's warm!" Alicia said, holding onto her chest and Justin's eyes furrowed.

The light around them was blue yet at the same time, there was a glint of red. What did that mean?

"Thank you so much!" Alexia said and he nodded.

'Maybe the system already has a bug. How can there be something dangerous with these two?' He thought and shook his head.

"Anyway," he looked at their clothes. They still looked dirty and ragged. "Let's go get you two some clothes."

Hearing this, their eyes once again lit up.

Justin knew he couldn't just take them to a clothing store the way they were. The people would just call them thieves so he decided to get them something new first and then, they can go together.

"You two wait here for a while, I'll go get you something new first and then we can go together." He said and although a bit disappointed, they nodded enthusiastically. "You can go look around or something. And take a bath while you're at it."

The two girls nodded and ran out of there. Then, he faced the system.

"What's going on with the light?" He asked.

(It appears you have yet to know about dragon's descendant!)

"Oh, that reward? I was wondering what it was." He said. ",But what does this have to do with the red light I saw in their light?"

(To unlock this information, the user needs to advance to level 10!)

"What?! You've got to be kidding me!" He exclaimed, irritated. "You lock all the information for further levels yet you can't even get me to level up, once! Isn't this a deceptive trick?"

(User shows no interest in levelling up!)

"I show no interest? How many times have I asked for a special Quest? You're the one withdrawing it all and yet you're saying I have no interest? Unbelievable!"

Justin couldn't believe it. He was actually quarrelling with a system. An artificial intelligence system! Wasn't that pathetic?

"Argh, forget it! Do what you want!" He laid back on the bed, pretending not to care. "If you're gonna be like this, why get me involved in the first place?"

(.....)

'I didn't want to be a saviour anyway." He thought. 'You forced this on me so won't you at least help out and make it work? Jeez, the gods must be … '

(Ding!)

'Huh?'

(The gods have heard your cry for help!)

Hearing this, Justin completely lost it and opened the simulation space. Once in it, he started duelling out all the curses he knew.

Once he was done, he felt slightly better and looked at Sally, whose ears were practically bleeding.

"Hey, Sally!" He greeted and walked out of the space. "Now, what were you saying about the gods hearing my cry for help?"

(.....)

"And don't even say I activated system punishment. It's all on you."

I'm trying my best.
