1 Chapter 1- The Eclipse

Earth, for some its a plane of endless opportunities and journeys. But for others Earth is a mundane plane of existence. Where nothing interests you, so you are locked in an endless cycle of boredom. There are also people that think between these two contradictions and one of those people is Logan Moon. Logan is an average 17 year old that has no dreams and aspirations, and is just simply surviving and not 'living'. Logan has dark brown hair, dark blue eyes, and noticeable lines and bags beneath them. His face is a bit on the chubby side, with a faint beard that would look like it belonged on someone that's 20 years old rather than 17, he is also rather tall getting some looks from others due to his height of 6"3. But Logan's best features are not his physical ones, instead its his smartness that's his biggest selling point and adding the fact that he is also funny and honest. But this is where it ends other than being intelligent he doesn't have much to offer and has no goal in life, no path. He just reads, eats and does education, this is what caused his weight gain, and also where others can see what his biggest flaw is, laziness.

But, as always would this be a story with just this? nothing else? no, today, wasn't like any other day. He woke up at his normal time which is 7:50 am on a Monday, does his daily routine of rushing to get ready, catch the bus and goes to college. From there he has a normal day of boring, tiring 'easy' work. Once he finished he headed back home, got dressed and laid down to start his reading. He scrolled through social media like he always does before reading. Noticing a post, he then remembers "Oh yeah! I forgot there was supposed to be an eclipse today, right? And this was supposed to be the biggest eclipse in a century!" He quickly scrolled past the post "eh, not like I would even be bothered to see it and I wouldn't care if I missed it". Logan then continues on to his reading thinking nothing on the matter.

As night approaches, he starts to get a small but noticeable pain in his chest. " hmm, this damn delta virus" thinking nothing off it due to having similar experiences with the delta virus pandemic, and a lot of other people have also had similar experiences. However, as the night goes on Logan realizes its getting to the point that it really hurts, almost as if someone or something is squeezing blood out of his chest. Feeling like he needed to get some fresh air, as the room suddenly feels stuffy. He stood up, looking at his dimly lit room, with all of his possessions squeezed together. He slowly makes his way over to the curtains, each step he takes his chest gets tighter, his head blares and the dizziness becomes more pronounced. Swallowing hard he grabs his head in pain and decided to rush to the edge of the damp room, as the pain almost makes him scream out in pain. Finally he reaches his goal, the curtain. He slowly reaches towards the curtain, before suddenly grabbing it with all of his strength and pulling as hard as he can!

A bright light then fills his eyesight before settling down into a disturbing but calming darkness, and as he slowly lifts his head with painful gasps filled with the struggle to get oxygen. He sees IT. The eclipse, in all its profound glory, entrancing him in to only focusing on it. He mutters with oxygen deprived gasps "Ah.... there it is...." with a feeling of unknown joy, pleasure and excitement. He finally accepts the darkness with glee and an upturned smile,

falling backwards, his vison finally fades to black.
