7 Start of Something Interesting

Ichigo slowly opened his eyes as his memories started coming to him. What welcomed him the moment he finally recovered from his dizzy state was the penetrating eyes of Yoruichi in her cat state. She was lying on his chest and he could see her body moving up and down with his breathing.

The exchange of stare continued for a while as Ichigo gulped down his saliva confused about what he should do next. Seeing that Ichigo won't be opening his mouth any soon Yoruichi decided to start the conversation. "You're finally an awake boy," Yoruichi said as she slowly stood up on her paws and jumped on the floor and continued. "You most probably would be very confused at the moment and must have a lot of questions in mind. I'll brief the things you need to know and later on, you can begin with the questions. Do you understand?"

Ichigo slowly lifted himself and sat on the bed before nodding his head. Seeing this Yoruichi started explaining to Ichigo about the existence of Hollows, and shadow reapers, she also talked a bit about Soul Society and Hueco Mundo to him. Ichigo listened to her with the utmost attention. This was a good opportunity to revise his memory for the future.

After explaining whatever she wanted to tell him Yoruichi asked him "Any questions boy?"

"Yes, I do. What all this has to do with me?" Ichigo asked.

"Well, your body due to some unknown reasons has a lot of spiritual power and this makes you an enticing target for Hollows." Yoruichi said as a matter of fact and continued, "Don't worry though, I can help you become stronger so that you can fight it out with them on your own. This way you would be able to protect not only yourself but also your family who are also in danger because of you."

Ichigo paused for a while before asking her another question. "That makes sense but what doesn't make sense is that you're helping me without asking for anything in return."

Listening to his question Yoruichi chuckled before saying "I'm glad that you're not naive enough to believe that I'll help you for free. Of course, I want something in return but in order to help me you need to become stronger. You're too weak to help me in any way as of now." For Yoruichi, training Ichigo was just a small investment from her side. If Ichigo could become stronger she could use him to help Urhahra with his task. If not, then she'll only train him a bit so that he could provide for himself before disappearing.

"What if I don't get stronger?" Ichigo asked.

"Then you'll die. Just the way you were about to a few hours ago. Since you have strong spiritual pressure that also means that your family members also got above average spiritual pressure even though it is very less when compared to you. Do you know what that means? It means that after killing you the hollows would go for them." Yoruichi said gravely. She was a bit disappointed hearing such a question from him because in his situation he couldn't afford to think like that.

Ichigo was just testing the waters and knew that he had no other options other than becoming stronger. He didn't realise though that his silly question made Yoruichi's evaluation of him a few points lower. If he knew that this would happen...he wouldn't care anyway. He was gonna become stronger now and that was a fact because he was clearly aware of the powers that this body possessed.

"I understand. From the looks of it, the task you're gonna give me in return for training me is gonna be immensely difficult so shouldn't we start training from today onwards?" Ichigo asked.

"That's a quick u-turn from your previous attitude, I like that. Unfortunately, your injured body is not in a state to start practising what I've got to teach at the moment. Rest for a few days. I'll come later and then we'll begin your training." With that Yoruichi jumped towards the window.

"Wait," Ichigo said.

Yoruichi's body paused on the window railing as she looked back. "Is there anything else you want to know?" Yoruichi asked.

"It just...how should I address you? I don't know your name." Ichigo asked in order to make sure that he doesn't end up in a situation where he accidentally ends up calling Yoruichi by her name even though she hadn't mentioned it to him even once.

"Yoruichi. If you don't have any more questions. I'll be going now." Yoruichi said to which Ichigo nodded as he saw the figure of the cat in front of his eyes disappear the next moment.

Ichigo stretched his body out before standing up and going to the washroom to take a piss. When he was about to die the second time a few hours ago his mind became more clear as he realised how stupid he was when he thought that he could avoid getting stronger and live a peaceful life in this world. Since he's in the body of the main character, if he tries his best to avoid getting in trouble then the troubles would also try their best to find him.

After freshening up Ichigo went downstairs. He was hungry enough to eat a horse at the moment. This was most probably because his body was doing its best to heal his injuries. The scent of the dinner that was being made didn't help in lessening his hunger as it only drove him downstairs much quicker.

Much to Ichigo's disappointment, the dinner would still take a few more minutes to be prepared. His sisters after seeing him, first asked him about his injuries before realising that he most probably got into a fight and started admonishing him. Ichigo didn't mind it and just chuckled inwardly before going to the living room to watch the television as he waited for dinner to get ready.
