1 Prologue

On the outskirts of the Capital Derron, of Victorio Kindgom;

"You Witch!", The shout of the elder man stunned everyone. His whole body was shaking in rage as he held back his tears that was on the brim of falling.

"You killed my son!", he continues with his fierce red eyes.

The group of people in white cloak stared at him, confused. They were surrounded by furious elders of the village holding sticks and stones in their hands.

"We are not Witches.", standing boldly on the front with a fierce red eyes and dark hair braided on the back, the Leader defended, with a voice so powerful yet calm. "We are Protectors and it is not in our custom to kill someone. You must be mistaken."

"Don't you dare lie to me!!" another elder exclaimed, "No wonder even the King has suspected you all for spreading weird diseases."

"Wait. What?", the leader's raised an eyebrow.

'What was that about?', he thought.

"I've had enough of this!" The old man snapped and pulled out a knife from the knife pocket tied to his hip. Everybody froze in shock as the man stabbed the knife into the Man's chest. "Die with my son!" He curses.

A lady walked up and pushed him away so forcefully that it threw him away to a distance. Everyone stared in astonishment as she helped the man knelt holding his chest. Her hip length ashy hair touched the ground and hid her terrified face with light brown eyes.

"Honey, are you alright?", she asked as she analyzed the wounds with her hands using power. Her heart started beating faster in nervousness as she realized how fatal the wound was. It was so close to his heart that she wasn't sure if she could save him.

She stared up at the man furiously as anger started building up inside her. "How dare you!" Her eyes turned bright red, "The hands that you used to stab my husband will never be able to work anymore in your whole generations! You would die-"she was cut off as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked down to her now heavily breathing husband as he shook his head weakly. They both knew how dangerous her curses were.

"Don't do this!", he said as he struggled to stand up. "Killing others will only end up killing yourself."

"But you are hurt!", she said tears building up in her bright red eyes.

The others watched in shock as the man stood back up with his chest covered in blood. The Protectors made a quick action to get on their sides.

He slowly joined his trembling hands, "You must be mistaken. I solemnly request you all to please leave us alone." he requested. The Protectors looked at him surprised but slowly also lowered their head.

"So, you'll still not admit you killed my son?" The man shouted.

"What is there to admit if we haven't done it!" one of the Protectors shouted.

"You Witches use your powers to use us people. We are all aware of that. Don't try to lie to us!" The protectors raised their eyebrows in disbelief. After all they've done for the people. Is this how they are going to get repaid?

In a second a furious Protector grabbed the neck of the man who said that. The man stared right at the eye of the villager and said in a deep sinister voice, "How dare you run your filthy mouth like that. You all are the one sucking our powers for free."

"Rei!" The Leader shouted at the man with red hair and a scarred eye, "Stop that!"

Rei followed the order and threw the man on the ground.

"See!" Another villager said, "How can you claim to be Protectors like this?"

The atmosphere got more intense as anger flowed from both sides.

"Please. Allow us to leave." The Leader requested politely again before starting to walk away with his wife's help.

"Who allowed you to leave?" The women gasped as she felt a sharp pain on her back and her husband calling her name.

------

"Miss Kira. Are you home?" A man in his mid 30's with dark hair and dark brown eyes, knocked the door rapidly to a small house. He was sweating and panting as he kept knocking the door.

"Miss Kira!" He called again. "Please open the door!"

He was getting more nervous as the time passed. Without waiting any longer, he opened the door and rushed inside. He found a young lady with brown hair tied in a bun and light brown eyes, on her way to the door too.

"Minister Lour what happened?" she asked concerned as he rushed to the main bedroom.

"Where is Zain?" he asked.

"He's still asleep. What happened? Is something wrong?"

He stopped at the door of the room and turned around to answer her, "The villagers killed Eden and Keran and also other Protectors who were present too."

The girl covered her mouth in disbelief, "My sister?"

"Now they are on their way to burn their houses and kill any of the left protectors. The King ordered the Protectors to be killed and burn their property." he explained through his breaths trying to calm himself.

"Why?" Tears rolled down her face but they didn't have the time to grieve over it as they heard the footsteps outside.

"Quickly take Zain out of here from the back door." Lour ordered as they got into the room and picked up the sleeping baby with ash hair from the bed and started running through the hall.

They reached the back door but it was already too late. They could hear the villagers out there too. "Burn the whole house!"

Lour was surprised when Kira suddenly handed over the baby to him. He looked down at her confused.

"Please take care of Zain. Let him have the most peaceful life he can afford. "She requested with a smile so painful yet warm that clenched Lour's heart.

"What do you mean? "He asked panicking as she moved him aside from the door.

"I'll block them. Please take Zain away from here." He couldn't see her face but he still felt the tears running down her cheeks as she struggled to say her last words, "Please Save him."

She pulled the door open and stood in front of the crowd hiding Lour and Zain behind the narrowly opened door.

"There's someone here." "She's a witch too!!" "Kill Her!!"

"Don't step forward!" She commanded. Swinging her hands in the air to her right and mounds of rocks rose from the ground blocking their way.

The scare villagers froze away. Seeing this opportunity Kira asked Lour to run away. Hiding from the villager's eyes Lour ran to the forest behind the house.

"Don't be afraid, guys!" A man from behind shouted, "She can't hurt us! She's just like the other witches!" he reassured the villagers and they started throwing rocks and woods on fire upon her.

"Kill her!" "Burn the place!"

Lour could hear the shouts of the villagers. He kept running and running holding back his tears till the voices could be heard no more.
