3 The Reawakening

''Now that I truly know you are the one I was searching for...''

That's what she said while coming from a sky filled by nothing but darkness.She walked so gentle from the sky, it was as if she was coming down on the stairs, but the stairs didn't even exist.

The more she was approaching me, the more I was able to feel completed and at peace with myself.It was as this was the moment I was waiting for my entire life, much rather, the person I was waiting for.

''... I am going to show you''.

Now that she was right in front of my face, I felt something that I wasn't able to feel until now. I think that feeling is what humans would call love...

''This must be fate...'' I said with a big smile on my face.

''I suppose you could call it fate.'' She muttered to herself.

''But...'' I lost my breath the second she said that.

''But... it is something way above fate.''

''How so?''

''You do not need to say anything.''

''Then, I guess I should take your advice.''

''Still as cheeky as ever huh...'' She said while smiling, after that remark she goes saying:

''After five thousand years I will finally be able to keep my promise, my beloved.'' In that moment my eyes opened themselves wide, showing my dark eyes, and my surprised expression, after all, this wasn't making any sense to me yet.

She grabbed my head and put my forehead on hers, I was still in shock.

''Now, I shall show you.''

I kept my mouth shut and waited to see what she was talking about.

In that moment...I was able to see a nightmare, even though it felt like years of watching to me, it was nothing but a mere second.

''These memories...'' I said with a voice filled with anger and despair.

''I see...'' She said while reaching for my lips.

She kissed me. That was normal to me since I was able to know who she truly was. My anger disappeared into the air and even though my heart was beating extremely fast, I was now at peace.At least for the moment being.

It was as if she was aiming to calm me, and she succeeded.

She finished the kiss. Then, she stared into my eyes , it felt like she was staring into my soul.'' Now I wouldn't be able to forget the warmth of her lips and I will crave for more, that's for sure'' is what I said inside my mind.

''Fudo...'' She said while she was starting to tear.

''What is it, Fumiko?'' I said and smiled to her face so that I would comfort her and keep her from breaking down.

''I was able to fulfill my promise.''

''Thank you.'' I said and opened my arms so that she can come to me, I was well aware of what she was able to feel, after all...she was my lover.

She rushed right into my arms and gave me a big hug. In the same moment the darkness around us transcended into light. She was now squeezing me, almost leaving me without breath. I was pretty happy to see that she waited for this moment. To me, she was just like a open book that I would always read from, again and again, never getting tired of reading and appreciating it.

''Do you have any idea how much I missed you?'' She said and then started crying. Just like a little kid. I loved that part of her. There is no why or how, I simply treasured her entire being.

''Yes , I am extremely sorry, my darling.''

''Stop with your sweetness and apologize more for what you have done'' She sounded so childish...

''Ok , I promise to make up to you'' I said while keeping a bright smile on my face. And then continued:

''How do you want me to make up to you?''

She was still crying like a little kid while getting lost in my arms. And then I proceeded to pat her head and give her all the love I was able to give in that moment.

''Just...''

''Just what?''

''Just don't leave me again!'' And proceeded to continue sobbing.

''Don't you dare to ever leave me again!''

''I apologize for leaving you.''

''Promise me then!'' She was well aware that I was a man of my word ,that's why she chose those words.

I squezeed her between my arms and said:

''I, Fudo Light swear on my name and throne...that I shall not ever leave you again , Fumiko Light.''

''Do not ever forget what you promised me!'' She said while her tears stopped falling down, just like the rain.

''Alright.'' Is what I said while being happy that I got to reunite with her again. But now, I knew that my life will not be a peaceful one anymore and that I had to go to war.
