16 Late night talk

Soon, Kenji left and I was in my bed which was close to the window, and looking at the full moon that was shining in my eyes, I have simply found it stunning. The lights were off and my roommate was in his bed which wasn't far away from mine and he also had a nice view of the moon.

"Oh, I forgot to ask your name." My roommate said turning his eyes from the moon towards me.

"Ah, my bad, my name is Fudo, what about you?" I said arranging my black hair since it was on my forehead and I didn't like it being messy while I was around people.

"Mine is Yoshikazu, Yoshikazu Nakayama." He said turning his gaze towards the ceiling of our room.

"That's a nice name." I mentioned getting up from my sleeping position leaning my body on the wall that was next to me, the moon was even more amazing from here.

"I don't hear that often, thanks." Yoshikazu replied.

After Yoshikazu replied we were both in complete silence and it was quite enjoyable, you don't always have to talk to enjoy someone's presence, it happens to me once in a while with Fumiko, we would both have nothing to say but we would still enjoy each others' company.

"Ah! I can't sleep, for God's sake!" My new roommate complained loudly hitting his face with his pillow.

"Well, I guess we could get to know more about each other since we'll be living in the same room for some time, maybe some conversation would eventually tire you out and you'd fall asleep." I said touching the wall with my head and looking at the ceiling.

"Oh, good idea, by the way, you didn't mention your last name." Yoshikazu asked.

"Uhm." I said biting my lip.

'Should I tell him? "Light" might be still recognized these days.' I asked myself panicked.

"I don't have one." I lied with a straight face.

"H-huh?! Can you say that again, please?" He asked confused.

"I don't have a last name." I lied once again.

"W-Why?!" Yoshikazu replied regretting asking to know it in the first place.

"Even I don't really know the reason." I answered in a calm voice.

"Oh, I-I see..." My new roommate mumbled looking very confused.

'Since I am supposed to study here I don't know if letting people know my real identity was a good idea, it would be the best if I get some information on what they still know about me, they may still know my title but not my actual name, either way, I have to be extremely careful on what I reveal about myself.' I thought while turning my sight to the moon with my head leaning on the wall.

I disappeared a lot of time ago and the enemy might've corrupted their memories but I can't be sure until I see more, I was the one who originally found this academy thousands of years ago using my divine powers which I learned to use from my mentor.

"Who was the person who made this academy?" I asked Yoshikazu.

"You're telling me you don't know?!" He replied impressed by my cluelessness.

"I know some things but I want to make sure if what I know is true." I answered Yoshikazu's question.

"Oh, ok. They say it was made by the "Defective God" which built the academy all by himself." He answered lighting up the candle on his bedside.

"Mhm, sounds interesting, can you tell me more about this person?" I asked trying to appear as curious as possible so I don't raise any suspicions.

"Yes, and, he was not just a person..."

'So they know of my death' I thought after hearing the first sentence.

"He was a god-like being, no one was able to surpass him in terms of leadership and strength. They say he is known as the "Defective God" because he was originally a demon who ascended from his original status, there is not much information on how or when he ascended but we do know that he was very wise and passionate, this entire school worships him and he's viewed as a savior since he saved the world from the darkness it was drowned in" He mentioned looking at the candle burning the entire time he was talking.

"I see, did he die?" I asked bluntly touching my chin with my left hand.

"Hmm, there isn't much known about how he disappeared but people think he was killed because he was defending someone from a very strong attack that had a curse on it, and that someone...we still don't know who that is. Though, there is some theory saying that it was his wife." Yoshikazu enlightened me further about what people know up to this moment.

"Thanks for telling me." I said smiling and then turned my face to the wall and he blew in the candle.

"Good night." Yoshikazu said.

"Good night." I said in a tired voice to give off the impression I was going to sleep.

Now I had some time to figure out what was going on. So, as far as I understood they don't know who Fumiko really is or at least her name since she may have shown herself sometimes but even if she did I am pretty sure she kept her identity secret.

'Fumiko...' I said in my mind thinking of how lonely she must've been all the time I was away and she was still able to hold on and keep it together even if she may have had some difficulties, it must've been really tough.

A good thing is that they still remember my existence and what I did. As for how I ascended or when is not something that people need to know, I decided a long ago to keep it a secret and the only people who know what happened are Fumiko and my most loyal servants.

'Those are some good news.' I thought and fell asleep.
