9 An old friend

After the incident with the system, I and Fumiko drank some hot chocolate and went to sleep. Since I only had a one-person bed I slept on the floor and let her sleep in my bed.

Now, it was the morning and she was sleeping like a little child, I made some coffee for us, it was just a matter of time until she woke up to drink her coffee. I did not wish to mess her sleep though, she was extremely cute when she was asleep.

It felt so relieving to have her alongside me again, I did not even bother to get a book out of my bookshelf to read, it was pleasing enough to watch her sleeping.

She started giving signs that she will wake up soon, turning from a side to another every minute, also, since I raised the blinds and now sunlight was entering the room she could not stay asleep for long. And shortly after that, she woke up.

''Good morning darling...'' She said while rubbing her eyes.

''Good morning Fumiko, I made some coffee for you.'' I said smiling with my eyes closed.

''T-Thank you, I'll go to the bathroom first...''

''Alright, I'll wait for you.'' I said continuing my smile.

How could I not wait for her? She waited for me five thousand years and even prepared for my return, not waiting for her would leave a bad taste in my mouth and a sense of guilt.

After all, I did read a book that said ''The man who has a conscience suffers whilst acknowledging his sins.'' And it is entirely right, a person who contemplates his actions will always punish himself without even knowing, that is indeed the harshest punishment that has ever existed.

''How long did you wake up before me?'' She said while coming into the room, she looked so tired, everything up until now must've tired her out.

''Not long ago.'' I said while getting a better grip on my cup of coffee.

The truth was that I didn't sleep much since I slept more than half of a day. So, even if I spent half of the night staring at the ceiling I wasn't really tired, I also got around 6 hours of sleep so I was pretty fresh.

''You should be going to level up a bit today, you need to be prepared for tomorrow.''Said Fumiko while sipping from her cup of coffee.

''Huh? Is there something important tomorrow?'' I asked with a surprised look.

''Kind of.'' She said smiling at me.

''Okay then, do you know any dungeon I can go to so I can level up fast?''

''Yes, there is one but it is near the Kingdom of Demon.'' She said.

''Perfect, give me the location and I'll teleport there.'' I said looking at the clock,

It was 8:00 am so, I decided that I would finish the dungeon in less than 8 hours

''Well, I'll be back by sunset.'' I said and kissed Fumiko's forehead.

''You better be back'' Said Fumiko and then I teleported.

I arrived in front of the dungeon. The door had a unique style, I have never seen such a door in 1000 years of life, I guess that's what happens when you come back to life after five thousand years.

''Oh.'' I said when something got back to my mind.

Fumiko told me last night that in order to access the system I had to say in my mind the order she told me about the first time, the only time it was needed to say it out loud was the first time from what I understood. But, she told me that I can summon the system any way I want to.

'I order thee to unveil the system to me.' I said in my mind.

''The system shall be unveiled to the user.'' Said the voice from last time.

That image was in front of me again, it showed the same things but, this time something was different. There was a notification.

'[Will you enter the domain called ''Viné's lair'']'

'[Yes] or [No]'

I was terrified. Viné was one of the demons I befriended in my last life. While we were demons he decided to serve me. But, something was out of place, why was Viné in a lair? Did ''they'' imprison him?

I wouldn't be really surprised if it was just as I predicted. I made sure to make Viné so strong that he cannot be killed by just anyone. This was another sign that I had to take this matter seriously.

I pressed the [Yes] button.

The door opened itself. While I was entering the domain something spoke.

''No one shall leave without finishing the challenge.'' It was a voice I didn't hear up to this point.

Everything was dark, there wasn't any way to see ahead of me so I used some fire magic.

There were a lot of sounds that suggested I engaged in combat soon. Since this was only the start, the monsters would probably be something neither weak or strong, I presumed the first fight will be with some dark elves.

Shortly after that, they started swarming in my direction.

I started running in circles so I can observe the whole group, I knew what weapon to use.

'System?'

'Yes, what can I help you with?'

'Please create a legendary sword.'

'Please state the name of the item.'

'Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.'

'All right, the item will be done in less than a minute.'

Now, I just had to wait. But, my instinct told me to not wait, being strong only with a sword just means that you are not strong enough, I learned that while I still was a puppet for the Gremory family.

I started fighting against them, it seemed a bit difficult since I didn't own my original power, still, these dark elves were nothing compared to me and my agility.

Some of the elves started talking in their own language, from my past experiences I understood that they were desperate. I cannot blame them, you realize how weak you are in the face of a far superior being and realize how terrifying can a fight really be.

'[Level up!]

[Level up!]

[Level up!]

[Level up!]'

I started approaching their boss after 30 seconds of going around slaying dark elves. Their leader seemed to be on a different level compared to the masses, at least twenty times stronger than the average dark elf.

'[The item requested is ready]'

Just in time. I got to the leader as fast as I could and took the best stance possible for this situation. The blade in my hand transmitted me its wish for blood, that is why Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi was incredible in a place like this, the weapon will get more durable and powerful the more victims it has.

I aimed for his neck but he sacrificed his left hand in order to survive, he was dead in my eyes already, my odds of winning odds were clear to me as the light of the morning.

He started screaming, it looked as he was in aching tremendously, I had to put him out of his misery as soon as possible since he wasn't my prey or anything like that, it's just that I had to do it, more than than, the creatures in a domain were lost spirits who wondered until they were imprisoned in a dungeon.

I switched my stance quickly and bent over my body to get more momentum and to eliminate him faster. The blade of the sword got to the neck of their leader and, that was it. He died.

The rest was nothing but me killing the rest.

I stood with my back straight and blood was dripping from my sword, the first part was done.

''I didn't expect you to come here.'' A voice said.

It was Viné's voice.
