38 Chapter 38: Arsha Vs The Peacock

Just before the ice spear could make contact with her, she felt the level of coldness oozing from the object.

Even without making contact with her yet, she felt like her whole body was freezing and to make matters worse, something that cold and sharp was going straight for her head.

She would be lucky to survive a direct hit from that to her head and even if she does end up surviving, her face would be deformed beyond repair.

"So, this is it."

Just before the spear could make contact with her, she felt a sudden burst of warmth and the freezing grasp on her suddenly melted away.

"Huh?"

She opened her eyes at that moment to see that the ice spear that was just about to hit her was no longer there and just before she could hit the floor, she found herself in Arsha's arms.

"Oh, hey, there." She muttered after looking up at him.

Her heart was racing, just a few seconds ago she thought she was dead and now she was here.

He didn't respond to that and proceeded to slowly let her down on the ground first.

"Um….thank you, you saved me again."

Again, he didn't respond to her as he turned to his pair of gauntlets which were sitting beside her on the floor.

"You seem to enjoy giving up too early so let me handle this." He said as he slipped his hands into his gauntlets.

"Hey, listen, I know you're strong but that thing is….."

Before she could finish what she was trying to say, she found Arsha right in front of the peacock, and without hesitation, he sent a punch right at the beast's throat.

"How does he move that fast?" She gasped.

The beast let out a screech in pain before trying to push him away with rapid-fire cryo bullets but Arsha wasn't planning on backing off yet.

He quickly went around the beast and sprang up to slam the thing's head down with his right leg.

The beast staggered a few steps backward causing its training to waver a bit and for a moment there, it turned toward Claudia.

The rapid fire was still going on so some of those cryo bullets were coming her way now but she was able to crush all of them before they could get to her.

After staggering back a few steps, the beast tried to regain its composure but Arsha wasn't going to let that happen.

He quickly charged toward the beast at that moment and with both of his hands joined together, he sprang up and smashed down its head making sure it touched the ground this time.

Its head was on the ground but the beast refused to fall as both of its feet were still standing straight.

"He's not even using his abilities," Claudia muttered.

Her eyes were filled with amazement as she watched him take on the peacock.

'He has such a straightforward way of fighting, but he doesn't fight like this against our classmates.'

He tried to pin the beast's head down by standing on it but the beast had other plans.

Suddenly, numerous ice spikes came bursting out from underground, it wanted to stab him to death from below but he was fast enough to quickly move back with a backflip.

Well, not exactly fast enough, his uniform was torn on his right arm now, and not just that, the exposed area was bleeding now.

"He got injured?"

That was what she thought but then she watched the wound slowly close up.

"What the heck?" She was beyond confused at this moment.

"Oh, you managed to injure me."

He was trying to hide it but the beast seemed to have been successful in striking a nerve.

Well, it looked like they both managed to strike each other's nerves as the beast let out an excruciatingly loud screech.

It was so loud that even the birds from a mile away took flight and the smaller and low-level beasts, afraid to be eaten, quickly scattered looking for where to hide.

"Is this thing trying to blow up my eardrums?" Claudia muttered in discomfort as she covered both of her ears with her hands.

The screech wasn't the only thing it had to show its anger after all, it had to kill the person that was able to cause it this much pain.

Just like the two already knew, its train was divided into two for fire and ice and both sides had a somewhat circular design.

Well, it turns out that wasn't just design because they were spinning now.

"This doesn't look good," Claudia muttered.

Before she knew it, a huge fireball was fired straight at Arsha, and just as he got covered by dust and smoke, the rapid-fire cryo bullets followed suit but they were much faster now.

The beast was going straight for the kill unaware that the person it was trying to kill was right beside it now.

"When did he get there?"

"The fact that you're not that mobile makes this fight quite easy for me, I expected more."

With his gauntlets now covered in flames, he slammed his right fist into the peacock burning some of its feathers in the process, and with quick succession, he followed up with the other fist before going in with the right fist again.

He punched the beast about fifteen times with his flaming gauntlets before it decided to jump and he did it all while moving around it to avoid its attacks.

The beast had just gone from screeching to squawking in pain, its legs were shaking and Arsha could tell it was at its limit but it wasn't ready to go down just yet.

It surrounded itself with spikes of ice before continuing its rapid-fire at him in quick succession with the fireballs everything coming from the train.

The last time Claudia saw Arsha was when he got covered by the smoke from the fireball but now he was right in front of her.

She was a bit startled but she was able to keep her composure.

"How do you move so fast?" She inquired.

He didn't seem to have any intention of answering that question as he proceeded to pick up the sword sitting beside her.

"I'll be borrowing this." He said and the next second he was gone.

She turned to the peacock at that moment to see him descending at it from above.

"That train of yours is starting to get annoying so I'm going to get rid of it now, maybe you'll be able to move faster once it's gone." He muttered.

The beast tried to stop him with its rapid-fire but Arsha was able to slice through all of it with the now flaming blade, and just as he got to the train, he sliced it off before quickly following that up with a slamming kick to finally bring the beast down, the peacock was finally on the ground.

"He did it." Claudia smiled.
