Styx River Shooting Range

'Styx River Shooting Range'

Ethan gazed at the billboard before his car drove towards its destination.

The shooting range covered an extensive region. Many cars were neatly parked, and loud and dull sounds echoed throughout the area from time to time.

In the center was a large, three-storied tall building.

Ethan had just stepped out of his car after parking when he noticed many people hurrying toward the shooting range.

His brow furrowed for a moment before walking towards the building, but his steps came to a halt when he noticed an advertisement for a special event being hosted at the shooting range.

Many people gathered here for the event, whether they were men or women, young or old. Some even smiled and nodded to him.

Ethan smiled slightly and walked inside, his gaze shifting to a crowded counter.

It was the specialized counter for the registration for the event. He was surprised for a moment to see that Cosmos Electronics, along with Arcanum Solutions, sponsored the event. Even an electronic billboard was playing the teaser of Defeat the Overlord.

His curiosity was piqued as well, but he restrained himself and went to the reception area, where he saw a beautiful blonde-haired woman dressed in a black shirt and a knee-length black skirt sitting at the counter.

She carried a smile on her face as her blue eyes scrutinized him. "May I help you?"

"Yes, I want to register for the shooting practice," Ethan said with a nod.

"Sure, please fill out the details," the receptionist smiled. She handed the form to him.

After filling out the form, Ethan handed it to her, and she began entering information into the database.

"Would you like a trainer?" She asked, looking at him.

"Yes," Ethan nodded, his gaze shifting to the counter where people were signing up for the event.

"Do you want to practice shooting only today or...?" Her words trailed off as Ethan cut her off.

"Long Term,"

The receptionist nodded. "Would you like to take the membership?. We will give you a 40% discount whenever you come for practice or purchase a product."

"OK," Ethan said as he handed her the bank card, his gaze still fixed on that particular counter.

"What exactly is the event about?" He looked at the receptionist.

"It's a promotional event. The winner would receive a Top Tier gaming pod as well as a million dollars."

"Oh!" Ethan's interest waned as he shook his head slightly and waited for the procedure to be completed.

After a while, the receptionist handed him a card with the Styx Shooting Range logo and his name printed on it. "This is your membership card. You can go to the first floor. Our employee there will assist you."

Ethan nodded and went to the first floor, where he found another woman in a formal gown sitting at one of the counters. But this floor was not the same as the ground floor. There were indoor shooting ranges, as well as various guns and arms on display. And few people were enjoying the practice.

The sound of gunshots could be heard from time to time on that floor.

Ethan approached the woman, who stood up and greeted him. "Please wait a moment; your instructor will arrive shortly."

He nodded and focused his attention on the shooting range, where a few people were firing continuously at the target.

"First time?" Suddenly, he heard a stoic voice behind his back.

He turned around to see a tall, well-built man in his forties with a thick black mustache above his lips, wearing a black t-shirt with the Styx logo printed on it, staring at him with cold eyes.

"Yes," Ethan replied as he observed the man carefully.

But the man nodded and asked, "Which gun will you prefer?"

But Ethan frowned and shook his head. "This is my first time here. I know nothing about it."

"All right, come with me; we'll start with handguns." The trainer looked at Ethan before proceeding to the guns on display.

Ethan followed him, his eyes sizing up various guns, from pistols to shotguns to rifles and even Sniper Guns.

Eventually, the trainer stopped at the area where different types of Hand Guns were kept.

His eyes scanned various guns before pulling one out, along with its cartridge.

"This is the best option for you. It's Springfield XD mod 2, and it's one of the best for beginners." The Trainer gave Ethan a brief glance before returning his attention to the gun in his hand.

Ethan's gaze was drawn to the small gun with a delicate design. The Trainer's hands were quite large, and the gun fit comfortably in his hand.

"But, before you get into the specifics of this gun, you should understand the safety and precautions for all firearms. Safety comes first, whether you're using it in this range or at home."

Ethan nodded, and the Trainer continued with all the necessary information for firearm safety and precaution, before delving into the specifics of the gun, such as how it was made and what caliber it was, and so on.

After a while, they both went to the shooting range.

"Since this is your first time, we'll start with the basic stance." The Trainer handed Ethan the gun and looked at the target, which was white and shaped like a human torso with five rings on it.

"Hold the gun with both hands, keep your feet apart, slightly wider than your shoulders, bend your knees a little, lean forward slightly, and keep your arms straight in the line of sight." The Trainer explained as he adjusted Ethan's posture.

"The target is about fifteen yards away. Maintain your focus in the center of a ring. When you're ready, remove the safety pin as instructed and shoot."

Ethan nodded slightly, his eyes narrowed slightly, and his attention was completely focused on the target as he gripped the gun tightly.

He couldn't help but remember when he first began his training as an assassin in Ebeisia, and a wave of nostalgia washed over him, but he didn't let it affect his mind as he let go of the safety pin and.

'BANG'

His body flinched, and he took a step back, his hands trembling slightly due to the recoil of the gun.

"Not Bad. The outer ring. Many of the beginners could not even hit the target. Now, adjust your posture to your comfort level and shoot again."

Ethan nodded and adjusted his shoulders slightly, loosened his grip on the gun a little, and bent his arms faintly, but the gun remained in his line of sight.

His eyes were focused on the center of the target before he released the safety pin and.
