3 Chapter Three

Jace walked through the corridor looking for Mrs. Getty, our Orphanage keeper, he had to tell her that Elia was now awake so that we could get the hell out of this place.

And just as he was about turn to make a turn he heard voices whispering at the end of the hallway and curiously he stop and listen only to find out it was Getty and one other stranger.

"I don't think it safe for her to stay at the orphanage anymore, she hurt a kid and I'm afraid of what she'll do next...who was talking to?

Jace strained my head to get a glimpse of a stranger only to see a lady who was wearing a strange black outfit with a crook covering half of her face.

"Other children at the orphanage are scared of her and I don't know how long this would continue" She continued, "I think it would be safer if she is elsewhere...

He could barely stand her words anymore and without thinking further, he stepped out from the corner to glare at both of them in anger, how dare she say such things about Elia!

"She's going nowhere, Getty," I said interrupting them both

"What are you doing here, Jace, you should be waiting Bedelia"

"Elia is going nowhere," Jace said still standing his ground

"Jace! the other lady with a strange outfit called, she pulled down her crook to reveal her face. " All grown up now, I see" she smiled at him as her eyes lingers on his face.

Who was she and how does she know my name, her face doesn't even look familiar. He turned to look at the Getty "I think it would be proper to ask for my permission before you go about telling strangers my name"

Betty ignored him and turned to the strange woman but the woman focused her gaze on me "It's so good to finally meet you again Jace" she smiled and finally turned to Getty who was looking pale and disturbed.

"Not now Getty, not now" she patted her shoulder and then made her way toward the exit, Jace watched Getty frown with disappointment.

And why was Getty discussing Elia with a stranger, maybe she wanted to give Elia up to a foster home? That was it!

" Elia is awake," he told her finally before walking off, she wouldn't dare take away Elia from me.

Bedelia held onto Jace on their way home, she couldn't bear the thought of letting him go after being in such a horrible place,

"I don't want to be here again ever" I whisper to Jace.

"You won't as far as you keep your anger in check" I pulled out my tongue at him then elbowed him at his side and laughed

"So... Bedelia stared at him curiously since she couldn't bring herself to ask them properly.

"About the kid, you hurt" Jace completed the word for her with a sullen smile on his face

"Yeah, yeah, about him" Bedelia bit back her laughter knowing clearly that Getty was listening.

"I think he looks pitiful now" Jace smiled holding back his laughter "You knocked him out, you know you shouldn't have gone that far," he said.

Even though Bedelia knows she hurt the kid, she couldn't remember doing so and that was the most insane part.

Bedelia looked over at Getty, who had been silent since we left the hospital which wasn't her nature, she was expecting her to scream her ass off at me but she had been mute like a dead rat.

But that doesn't mean she wasn't eavesdropping on our conversation and when she parked and finally pulled up in front of the orphanage, she felt better instantly, knowing that she was back in the little same room.

Bedelia climbed out of the car so does Jace and just as I was about to walk in, Getty's annoying voice stopped me.

"You should at least be appreciative for driving you back home safely after all you had made me go through.

"I didn't make you go through anything Mrs. Getty and theirs nothing to be appreciated here also"

"If it weren't for me you'll be standing here and speaking to me this way!

"I didn't ask you to take me to that damn hospital, you know so well how much I hate it there! What did she expect from me? Did she expect her to bow?

And without another hesitation, she turned away from her and proceeded into the building without a backward glance.

"Oh jeez how I missed this" she exclaimed loudly and flung herself on her bed immediately after I entered her bedroom. "I can see that," Jace said and walked over to the window to draw the blinds open.

"But first, I need to take off this dress, I can't stand the hospital metallic smell in it," She said and strip out of my dress before falling back to bed and was only left with her shorts.

The thing about Jace and her was that she was never ashamed of doing anything in front of him despite not having any kind of intimate relationship, she had always felt comfortable being around him.

They might not have a raw relationship of any kind but their friendship and bonds run deeper than any physical or intimate relationship, it was a bond that can never be broken.

"Jace!! Bedelia called and heard him laugh, Of course, he already knows why she had called him. And without saying any more word to him, he walked over to her bed and laid right next to me while placing his arms around her and gently cuddling her to sleep, finally she was somewhere safe.
