Missing

Morning at work was cold as expected as it was winter season.

My work as an assistant manager at the local library had been really stressful for me. Though the pay wasn't really good but it was sustainable.

I sipped my home made coffee. I made my own coffee because the ones sold around it almost like the opposite of what I want .

As I sipped, I began to to imagine how life would be if I never saw my mom again. Prolly free and less irritating.

Just then I got a call from an Mrs Becky, a friend of my mother.

'Good morning'

'Your mother isn't at work and this is unusual'

' I'm calling to check if she's okay'

'Mom? Work?' I questioned.

'Well prolly she felt sick and couldn't go to work'

I'll check on her immediately I close from here'

'Okay and please get back to me' she said then ended the call.

She is a very close friend of mom. One of few persons had always been there for her. I didn't receive any other call from anyone in her office before I left my workplace. I left for home immediately the clock hit 2:30 pm. I had boarded a taxi.

Getting home I couldn't find my mom I searched everywhere but couldn't fine my mom.

'She must've gone to the 3 sins bar' I said to myself.

That was her favorite spot, if she wasn't at work or at home then she was prolly at the bar.

Relieved a little but worried I quickly left for the bar.

While inside, I saw one of the Bartenders who waved at me. He was a friend of mom, though not a mutual relationship. Without hesitation I walked up to him to ask him about my mom.

' Oh Mrs hasn't been here for the past few days' he answered

'Is everything okay?'

At that moment I couldn't say anything , lost in thoughts of what might have happened to her as I walked towards the door.

Then suddenly I remembered the part where she talked about the dreams and how it was connected to…

' what the fuck!' I said loudly

'Could it be dad ?'

'Is everything thing okay Five?' The bartender I know has been watching me from the moment I turned my back to leave asked.

'I'm fine!' I answered angrily

Leaving the store and banging the glass door closed behind me.

Mom was not at work nor at the bar, where could she possibly have gone. I thought to myself.

I had began to worry.

No where else I could think of. I hurriedly boarded a taxi then went home.

'Ding ding!!' I tried calling my brother

The phone rang but he didn't pick up.

A sudden chill ran through my spine as I dialed again.

Ten had said he was he was hanging out with some friends and wasn't going to be back until the next day. what if I can't find him also. I dialed again but time he answered.

'Hey five..' he said in a cool voice

'Nothing is right' I said in a low and sad voice.

'What's up?'

'Mum is no where to be found, not in work neither at the bar'

'Mummm??'

'She possibly in one of her mood right now and probably have gone somewhere to cool off head'

'Give her until deep evening'

'She would be back'

'Hmm okay'

I said as I hit the end call button.

I thought of calling Jack to inform him but to avoid creating a fus. I decided to wait till deep evening as Ten had suggested.

One thing was sure. My mind wasn't at rest.

This has never happened before.

Mummy barely go out to meet friends. She is an introvert and the only place she goes to clear her head off things is the bar.

'Maybe she decided to try out somewhere new' I thought.

Why would I be negative? Nothing was going to happen to mom.

I woke up and saw that it was already.

I had slept of while thinking.

I anxiously searched everywhere but no sign of mom yet and Ten wasn't back.

I was uncomfortable. I quickly grabbed my phone from the couch and dialed Jacks number.

He picked up immediately .

'Hey love…, sorry I couldn't call you, work had been a little hectic and it was really a busy day'

He apologized immediately after he answering the call

'Mom is nowhere to be found'

I said.

'Mom?'

I couldn't say anything, I started crying.

'Be there in a minute' he said then hung up.

As if he was already close by, he knocked on my door exactly in a minute.

Still crying, I got up from the chair to open the door.

'Hey baby'

He said as he walked inside the house.

'Mommy is nowhere to be found' I said again.

'When last did you see her?

'In the morning, she was telling us about a weird dream she had'

I answered but no longer in a crying voice.

It was as if my mood changed when I saw Jack.

Or probably I was just so scared.

'Weird dream?'

'Yes'

'She was scared that dad was gonna come back and take the properties even if it meant killing her'

'Please can I file a missing complaint?'

I asked.

'She is all I have , Ten doesn't give a damn about me ' I said as fresh tears rolled down my eyes.

He moved closer to me kissed me on my forehead and held my hand.

'You can't file a missing report until after twenty four hours babe'

'But don't worry I'm off duty right now'

'If by tomorrow morning, we don't hear anything from mom'

'I'll make sure I file a missing report'

He bought out something from his pocket and presented it to me.

It was my favorite chocolate.

'Thank you' I said with a smile, though not really genuine'

'I hope this will make you feel better'

He said then kissed my cheeks.

He took the chocolate from my hand and insisted he fed me.

Which he did for some minutes then dropped it on the wooden table.

He moved really closed to me in such a way that I could feel the air from his breath. He raised and kissed my hand slowly with one hand while the other found it was to my breasts.

Slowly lifting his head upwards, it met with mine.

I could feel his soft lips on mine.

We kissed really hard for some moment, then pulled out.

'You want more?' He asked

'Yes' I said with a weird smile.

We managed to find our way to my room, still kissing and flirting.

Switched off the lights and had really good sex.

I haven't done that in a while now and it was like I needed it .
