Chapter 3: Stranger

Small droplets of sweat covered Leo's forehead, his breathing was slightly hurried as he observed the setting sun on the horizon.

Raising his hand he checked the timer

"My stamina has increased once again, it was indeed the right decision to support New Life company."

Feeling the sense of power coursing through his body, Leo couldn't help but want to run for a bit longer.

But he controlled his urge as he knows that it was getting late and it would also take time to reach home.

So Leo called the cab after he got out of the area, he pulled down the window after sitting inside the cab and started enjoying the scenery.

Taking in the natural air Leo started thinking about whether he should just make a house in the suburbs, it might not be such a bad idea to live away from all the noise and pollution of the city.

After some time the tall buildings once again covered his surroundings.

As Leo was pulling up the window a green-colored van passed by the cab, suddenly a frown appeared on Leo's face as he quickly turned his head and looked at the green van which just passed them.

Although it was just for a moment, Leo was sure that he saw two familiar faces through the van's window.

"Turn around"

"Yes?", Although the driver was confused he still quickly stopped the cab beside the tree and turned the car around.

"Follow behind the green van"

The driver was about to complain but he shut his mouth after seeing the bundle of money in Leo's hand.

"Just what did I get myself into....", The driver muttered in a small voice but he still nonetheless followed behind the van.

Leo heard the driver but choose to ignore it as he opened his phone and dialed a certain number.

After some time, inside the green van which passed by Leo, two girls can be seen surrounded by a group of dangerous-looking men with knives and guns in their hands.

The Coral school uniform and the familiar faces of the girls revealed their identity as Mia and Ella whom Leo met in the morning.

But right now Mia's spiritful face was replaced by an almost crying one, small droplets of tears would periodically slide off from the corners of her eyes making the gangsters around her laugh.

Suppressing her urge to cry Mia tightly hugged her friend Ella who has been knocked unconscious with a trail of blood coming out of her head.

"Hey don't be nervous kid I promise that if you two cooperate then we won't kill you okay?", A man with a crooked nose said as he suddenly put a hand around Mia's shoulder making the girl tremble.

Feeling his hand moving around her waist, Mia held in the urge to vomit as she tearfully nodded her head.

The gang members once again started laughing when they saw the scene.

Suddenly Ella's body twitched as she slowly opened her eyes while holding onto her head in pain.

"Oh seems like the sleeping beauty finally decided to wake up"

"The bi*ch finally woke up huh"

"Tsk tsk you shouldn't have messed with us kid."

The Gangsters quickly started threatening Ella some even slide the back of their knife's against her arms.

Perhaps her headache was too strong or she was unable to believe what was happening as Ella didn't show any reaction towards the thugs provocating her but instead kept holding onto her head muttering some unknown words in with her mouth.

"Don't ignore me b*tch", The man with a crooked nose got pissed with Ella's attitude as he extended his right hand towards Ella's face ready to teach her a lesson.

Just as his hand was about to reach Ella, the crooked man's hand suddenly stopped.

Then without any warning, the man quickly withdrew his hand and even stepped away from Mia.

"Hey what's the matter with you?", His buddy asked with a frown as he looked at the crooked man with a weird gaze.

'W-what was that.....', The crooked man on the other hand was shaking all over as he remembered the scene just now.

Just as his hand was about to reach the high schooler he saw from the gaps between the girl's long blonde hair, a pair of cold eyes staring at him.

At that instant, his senses which have been polished after going through many street fights roared at him telling him that if he were to take even one more step forward then something terrible would happen to him.

Looking down the crooked nose man saw his trembling hands as he tightly gritted his teeth and murderously stared at the bling hai chick.

'Bullshit! how can I be shaken by a little girl!!dammit!!'

While he was thinking as such, once again looked at the girl, when he saw that pair of indifferent eyes his newly found strength quickly disappeared as he felt his throat become dry.

"M-monster..."

He unintentionally spurted out the word which he could best use to describe the thing in front of him.

"What the fck is wrong with you?", Suddenly a giant hand grabbed the crooked man's collar making him suffocate.

"R-run away", The crooked man tried to shout but his words only made the grip around his neck tighten.

"The f"ck you said you pu*k"

Mia who has escaped the man's clutches couldn't help but ask her friend in a small voice.

"What are they doing."

As she looked at Mia, Ella's cold eyes were quickly replaced by warm ones as she said in a neutral voice.

"I don't know either."

Suddenly Ella turned her head and looked outside at the black cars driving parallel to the van they were on.

"I don't remember something like this happening...", A visible frown appeared on Ella's face as she saw the black SUVs.

Without any warning, Ella quickly got a hold of Mia and put their heads down.

"Now what's the matter with you t----", The big man who was suffocating the man with crooked nose since some time ago said in an irritated voice.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to continue as a bullet hole appeared on his head.

Suffering from the sudden attack, the gang members were startled but before they had any time to react, bullets were fired from the nearby SUV's puncturing the tires making the van flip over several times before finally landing upside down.

Mia who was being held down by Ella has closed her eyes and covered her ears as she sobbed periodically.

Ella on the other hand was calmly looking at the blue sphere surrounding them, the sphere suddenly appeared and protected them from the bullets and the car crash.

"Nothing like this was supposed to happen....", Ella muttered in a small voice as she looked at the gang members who were all severely injured in the crash some even died due to large pieces of glass embedded in their faces.

Ignoring the dead bodies around them Ella looked at the men wearing the famous defense uniform quickly rushing up to the vehicle. The first one to reach forced open the stuck door, seeing that both Ella and Mia were safe, he pulled up his communication device and reported.

"Both of the targets are safe, I am taking them to the medical team now"

"Good work soldier"

A blue-colored light surrounded the defense soldier's hand as the blue shield-like bubble around Mia and Ella moved and safely pulled them out of the van.

Leo was having a slight headache as he looked at the amount of military mobilized just to deal with a bunch of third-grade thugs.

Turning his head, Leo's father could be seen talking to a middle-aged man with a dignified look on his face, the stars on his dress revealed the middle-aged man's identity as a governor.

After he caught the sight of Mia and Ella being kidnapped and taken away in the van, Leo directly called his father and shared the number written on the van's number plate, but he never expected things to escalate to such a stage.

With a blank look on his face, Leo looked at the helicopter in the sky.

"Both the kids are safe", Leo's father came over after sending the governor away.

"It's good that they are safe."

A weird look appeared on his father's face when he heard what Leo said.

"Is something wrong?", Leo asked in a small voice as he looked at his father's expression.

Varsh brown, 43 years old, Leo inherited his black hair from his father but unlike Leo, his father has a pair of light green eyes.

"No, it's just that..... it's been a long time since I saw you care about something", Varsh said as he lightly shook his head.

Seeing his son's expressionless face he couldn't help but release a sigh.

"Forget it let's go and meet the kids first, they must be very confused right now."

An ambulance appeared in Leo's vision, he could see two familiar faces being checked by the medical team for any injuries.

"L-Leo", Mia said in a trembling voice as she quickly rushed up to the boy, hugged him tightly, and started crying.

Mia herself does not know why she did that, for some reason her body moved on its own after she finally saw the familiar face of her childhood friend.

His stone-like face seemed explicitly warmed to her for some reason.

Mia's reaction was within Leo's expectations, using his hand he caressed the girl's head helping her calm down.

But what surprised him was Ella, for some reason she was looking at him with a questionable look on her face, there wasn't even a hint of terror or anything if not for the dressing on her head Leo would have suspected whether she was kidnapped or not in the first place.

"I have informed both of your parents they should be arriving any time soon", Varsh said with a friendly smile on his face, Ella thanked him expressing her gratitude, Varsh waved his hand as he pointed at Leo saying that it was all thanks to him.

Feeling the grip around his waist tighten, Leo looked down at Mia who was looking at him with a burning red face whether due to excessive crying or embarrassment no one knows.

Suddenly Leo felt a tug from his sleeve, which surprised him as he clearly did not hear anyone approach him.

You should know that after taking in numerous body modification syringes Leo's hearing ability has reached a whole different level from that of an adult male.

"Leo?...can we have a talk"

A glint passed through Leo's eyes as he saw Ella staring straight at him.

The Ella he knew has never been able to maintain eye contact with him before due to being too shy but now.....

After forcefully separating Mia from him, Leo followed behind Ella, Mia couldn't help but feel a little sad when she saw the two of them leaving together.

"This should be far enough", Leo said as he saw that not many people were around.

Ella also stopped after hearing his words, turning around she faced him.

Seeing the calm look on her face the doubt in Leo's heart grew stronger.

"Divine Isle", Suddenly Ella said in a strong voice as her eyes turned sharp and observed any change in Leo's expression.

But all she saw was Leo tilting his head in confusion.

"Can you repeat that?", Thinking that he might have heard wrong Leo asked.

"It's nothing", Ella released a silent sigh as her expression relaxed once again.

Leo was going to ask her what exactly did she mean by 'Divine Isle' but her next words made him shut his mouth.

"If possible then I would like to borrow 100 million federation dollars from your family"
