80 5.14 Little rebellions

Once Saye flew off after shifting the power of the Dào pearl to himself, he flew towards the edges of the Elven kingdom. Yes he could fly in his original human form. Saye had started to think that maybe the reason why Master Ilseu showed him those sides, was because he knew my identity as Huan WangZi. If I am the dragon prince then I can stop the war and Master Ilseu wanted just that. That is why he even easily forgave me even when I told him about the gruesome past.

When they found FengYi, Saye had realised all this just then. Seeing how devoted Ilseu was to saving a dragon kid, Ilseu must want to save the people of his kind even more. He would want to avoid the war at all costs. Even after knowing that this may be true, Saye still wanted a way to hold on to Master Ilseu. It doesn't matter how you use me, I still can't let you go.

That's why he had confessed, and in such a manner. He wanted Master Ilseu to know his craze. He didn't shift the power of the Dào pearl to become a king. He didn't do it to save FengYi, well that was a reason too. But he mostly did it for Master Ilseu. If you see me as just the dragon prince, then I'll let you see me as that. Just keep looking at me.

Saye found a remote forestry between the dragon and Elven kingdom, and waited their for whoever wanted to battle him. He would wait for 2 days, and then reject the power of the Dào pearl. FengYi is the chosen king, He should become one. Now is just not the right time.

The gloomy air had settled. Dawn was approaching at a fast pace, as Shu XinYi walked towards the fallen boy. His pale gray scales had lost their luster. Shu XinYi removed his shirt and covered the boy with it. The night was still cold, yet Shu XinYi seemed just fine with only his pants.

Shu XinYi lifted the boy up and carried him on his shoulders, the weight was so faint that Shu XinYi would have mistaken it for a small cat if he hadn't seen the boy. Shu XinYi then walked towars where the princes should be. Luckily he could see 2 shadows moving around. More precisely .. they were joined together by the lips.

Shu XinYi was still shocked even though he knew something like this was inevitable. He was shocked because Zither was taking the lead while, Yuè was half unconsciously hanging on to his dear life.

"Zither. What are you doing?" Shu XinYi had to question. This behavior was inappropriate to say the least.

Zither tried to maintain his calm as he moved away from Yuè. Yuè was resting his back on Zither while Zither was resting his back on a tree. Zither obviously couldn't get up from this position easily so he just sat their and answered with a red face, "Brother Ilseu, this is really not what it looks like. Yuè-g-- Uh. Yuè woke up sometime after you went away, and he kept saying how he had to go to the boy. I held on to him. But he just said that he was hungry. Then he started to... this. Uh. But after this he calmed down for a while. So I did this.. to keep him calm."

Shu XinYi didn't know the greed for power could be satisfied in this way too. Regardless, Zither seems innocent. He was even attacked if the situation is thoroughly considered.

"It's okay. Let's walk Zither. Can you hold Yuè up." Shu XinYi said.

Zither nodded and with Shu XinYi's help, Zither held Yuè with his waist. With Yuè's hand on his shoulder. Yuè was still conscious but barely. The 4, well 2 and a half. then walked towards the capital.

"Your father will be really worried if you tell him about tonight. Can you hear me Yuè?" Shu XinYi said

Yuè only nodded weakly as he was dragged along. Shu XinYi continued, "Good. Then listen well. Both of you. The events of last night must not be revealed to your father or the council. Not by you. Nor are you to mention this child or the night at all. Or else your father will cancel your feat to the west. Once we head to the palace, you will treat yourselves and go to sleep. Yuè, Saye has gone far away so the power will only weakly affect you. Learn to control it. Zither, you have to make sure, Yuè doesn't get lured again. You must not fail. Understood?"

Zither and Yuè obviously knew how sensible Ilseu was. They simultaneously nodded. "Good. As for your personal dilemmas I can just say that be careful, and be true to yourself. The rest will fix itself."

Zither was embarrassed to hear this. He really did kiss Yuè because the situation demanded it. And he only liked it so much because it was the first time he felt that sensation. Right? What does Yuè-ge think of me? Can I even call him brother anymore? Can I kiss him again? Zither thought in a messy state of mind.

Zither let go of all these thoughts and shifted the subject, "Brother Ilseu, who is that kid on your back? Why did you do so much just to save it? You even got angry at us." Ilseu is the type to rarely get angry.

Shu XinYi sighed, "I have decided to protect him. I don't have to have a reason. As for those who want to bring harm to him .. let them try." Shu XinYi too didn't know why he was susceptible to this change in his attitude towards anyone other than Saye. Maybe hearing the name FengYi, Shu XinYi felt a little .. attached. Either way, Shu XinYi had already decided to save him, so what better time then now?

Zither hummed and said with evading eyes, "If it's your decision, then I won't question it anymore. But there is one more thing I have to question."

Shu XinYi was curious so he gave him a go ahead. Zither proceeded to ask, "What is that shining thing on your neck? I have never seen you wear accessories. Or do you perhaps always wear it, just underneath your clothes?"

Shu XinYi squinted eyes, trying to understand what Zither was saying. Ilseu really never wears accessories, so neither did Shu XinYi in this world. He obviously wasn't wearing one right now. Zither saw the questioning eyes and pointed below Shu XinYi's neck to say, "That."

Shu XinYi looked down at himself to see a something shining. It was a necklace, with a .. pearl. Well Shu XinYi couldn't see well as the sun had only just dawned. So Shu XinYi held the shining pearl and bought it for a closer look. It was ring. A pure black ring with a small; bead sized pure silver pearl. It shone without reflecting any light. It had it's own luster. Shu XinYi had to stop in his tracks to admire this beautiful peace of art. It really was a finely crafted ring. The pearl just completed the ring.

Shu XinYi didn't know from when he had this ring on his person, but he knew where it came from. He remembered when Saye had hugged him, Ah, so then.. Shu XinYi smiled and let the ring be. He then kept walking.

Zither didn't get an answer but he knew he wasn't going to get one either, so he asked something else, "Master Calian. This child is a dragon. If you bring it to the capital then.. Me and Yuè will not speak about it. But how can you handle this situation? Where will you even keep it?"

Shu XinYi looked at Zither to say, "HE is a child. Even if he is a dragon, by no means does that label him a threat. Zither, don't be rude. I was angry at you because the situation required it. This boy had nothing to do with it. Or do you think that this child should be punished for being a dragon, even when he did nothing wrong?"

Zither bowed his head to sincerely say, "I am sorry, Master Calian. Just, I have heard so much talk about the dragons in the council."

Shu XinYi patiently said, "Form your own opinions of the world, Zi. The world is not what it seems. I am sorry for getting angry at both of you. I have always seen as my younger brothers, so I did what seemed right in the moment."

Zither was once again embarrassed, "Brother Ilseu, don't suddenly talk like that. Especially when it's just us. I can't keep up with your pace. As for a place to stay for the boy, I think it will be best if you keep him in your quarters of the 3rd palace. It stays empty nowadays. The servants there are also loyal to you so it would be okay."

Shu XinYi smirked at this little rebel, "I was thinking the same. I'll have to go back to the military palace then, but it's okay. I will take care of FengYi for now."

Yuè could speak now, so he said in a horse voice, "Master Calian, the council is looking for ways to sabotage you. This kid will put you in danger. I am not saying to abandon him, but let someone else take care of him. If your position is compromised right now, then a war is bound to happen."

Shu XinYi had obviously thought about this problem, "I don't care much about my position in the council. Levay and the kingdom trusts me. That is enough. As for the war, It will not happen."

Although there was no reason for Yuè to be convinced from just a few words, but it was Master Calian saying them. Yuè couldn't even doubt. Yuè was even ready to hide the truth from his father for Ilseu, he was willing to trust Ilseu more then his father; the king.
