73 Chapter 72

Turning his body, Zuyuan dashed towards the next opponents without any hesitation. The battlefield had once again become a chaotic arena where one would have to pay attention to their surroundings, in case of any sneak attacks launched at the wrong time and wrong place. 

Keeping up the pace, Zuyuan had finished against any missionaries that depended heavily on tech equipment in close combat battles. Some of them donned mech armor, just like XB11, and there was some which was piloting mechas and tried to give him a pitcher assault. 

Making use of his speed to the fullest, Zuyuan was capable of parrying or dodging any bullets and energy beams that were coming from his foes. However, there was a limit with what Zuyuan could do. His Qigong was not unlimited and it took more Qigong to utilize his Phantom Sword technique with his new but ordinary sword. 

Placing the sword on his other hand, this time Zuyuan would unleash his invisible blade for the first time since his trip to the World Tree. With his sharpest weapon on his hand, Zuyuan took a more aggressive approach than before. Instead of avoiding the thick beam of energy, Zuyuan would cut it in two and charge headlong towards the enemy with his speed. 

"Equip." 

On his way, Zuyuan tried to activate his armor, although he was fully aware that it was locked and couldn't be used. Still, there was no harm in trying, after all.

"Tsk." Clicking his tongue, Zuyuan had already expected this scenario to happen. He just felt it was a waste. If he had the armor, it would boost his fighting prowess more than he could imagine. 

'You really need to tell me what level I need to be to unlock it, you know.. And what should I do to level it up..' Said Zuyuan in his head. Hoping his words would be answered by the consciousness that was hiding in his psyche without his consent at all. 

But there was only silence this time. After the parting words back then, he couldn't reach out to the goddess no matter what he had said. Yet, he knew that the goddess was sticking part of her inside him, and maybe even monitoring him all the time. 

'It's uncomfortable.' 

Somehow, Zuyuan had the feeling of being stalked and knew the stalker, but had no choice but to get along and accept it. Maybe, this was a sign for him to look more for any mental skills in the Sanctuary and try to erase part of the being within him. 

Slashing the arm of the giant robot, Zuyuan moved with his quick reflexes to avoid another barrage of bullets while using the robot as a cover, the bullets that were aimed at him from the sides as he had his focus on the robot. 

Jumping out from its back, Zuyuan swung his sword down right at the engine strapped on the back. Quite speechless by how noticeable the weakness of the mecha was. 

"Dammit!" Cursing loudly, a creature with two heads, four eyes each, and four arms gripped something resembling a machine gun. 

That creature had just come out from the cockpit of the mecha. However, this machine gun had its barrel shaped in a triangle, some kind of battery between both sides, and two grips were right under it, along with two more handles atop of it to hold the gun. 

"Eat this!" 

Shooting out sonic energy from the barrel, Zuyuan swung his sword horizontally in the air to cut down whatever attack his opponent threw at him. Yet, unlike what he had thought would happen, even though he had been able to slashed it into two, the remaining sonic energies had released a powerful shock wave that blew the unguarded Zuyuan away and had his eardrums bleed slightly. 

"Haha! How's that!? This is the super remodeled gun of my race that was customized for only four armed lifeforms to wield! Not to mention, this piece of technology was the latest invention of my race that was derived directly from the Rograst technology! Enough power to-"

Before the creature could finish his speech, a spear was stabbed right through his head. Killing him instantly.

Revealing himself behind the visage of the creature, Ling Zhue pulled out his spear calmly as he said. "You are not even the main villain in the manga. Stop explaining too much." 

Moving his gaze towards Zuyuan, Ling Zhue spoke, "Too old for this, uncle?" 

"I could do this all day." Answered Zuyuan while he was patting away the dust on his body. 

Snorting from the words, Ling Zhue had his physique covered in lightning and dashed to another area of the battle. Going straight ahead with his spear, as if an unstoppable comet with a tail of lightning. 

Letting out a sigh, Zuyuan focused his attention on the back line of the orcs armies. In a glance, the situation looks in stalemate once again. With how things have been ongoing from last time, Zuyuan wanted to strike for their leader to quickly end this war. 

Shortly, a huge fireball was coming down from the sky, right on the blind spot angle on Zuyuan's vision. While the attacker tried to give Zuyuan a surprise gift, the latter had enough experience and instinct to notice the murderous intent directed at him.

Activating his ultimate speed again, Zuyuan stared at the sphere of destruction that blasted the ground where he once stood three seconds ago. Raising his head, the attacker had his features covered by the blinding light of the sun, as only the shade of his figure could be seen. Still, with just one look, Zuyuan could guess who his opponent was this time. 

"Hello, Swordman, we meet again." A draconic figure spoke from up above, "I don't see that muscle headed friend of yours, did he kick the bucket perhaps?" Said Vorgron with a smug face. 

The dragonkin flew down and stepped into a clearing within the battlefield, facing Zuyuan as many warriors and missionaries noticed the confrontation.

"He's fine, don't shed your scales from worry." Zuyuan replied with an expression of contempt.

"Hmpf, figures." Vorgron spoke, "Shall we finish our fight then? I'll be sure to pay him a visit after I fry you and turn you to cinders." 

Vorgron's voice echoed as he moved his hands to the side, charging his fire to the limit.

"You're on."
