Chapter 46
Walking calmly, Zuyuan stared at the missionaries that would be his enemy while hearing the drumming noises that two races created. Apparently, two races had reached the same understanding to let each group of missionaries lead the charge.
Although most warriors of both sides seemed to be displeased by seeing the foreigners that came into their land would be the one to take the limelight, it was a decree from both chieftains of their respective race.
Standing with Ling Zhue and his teammates, Zuyuan glanced at the young man and spoke, "So we will have full frontal war with those missionaries huh. It'll be chaotic later on."
"Seems so. The system doesn't care if the missionaries kill each other, so who are we to refuse?" Answered Ling Zhue while he twirled his spear, "I hope your old age doesn't make you rusty in this kind of battlefield, uncle."
Smiling, Zuyuan shook his head and replied, "Who are you calling old? I'm only 30, and you saw me perform yesterday."
Then, turning his head behind, Zuyuan saw XB11 standing right there with its gun in its hands. Moving his gaze towards the gun, Zuyuan asked softly, "Have you already used the scroll to get that trait?"
"Yes master." Answered XB11 with a nod.
"Nice, I would have you take care of the airborne enemies, Xb." Smiled Zuyuan in excitement.
Shortly, the drumming noises sounded as two armies prepared their formation. After twenty minutes, the armies had ceased their activities, with all soldiers on standby in their position. The drumming noises came to a halt and the grassland filled only with the chatters between the missionaries.
Soon, the goblin chief, Veerurk rode a bear with red fur and two times bigger than an ordinary bear as he went towards the makeshift platform the soldiers had prepared. The same scene could be seen from the other side as an orc that was thrice bigger than his peers was riding on a rhino made of diamond.
Veerurk pulled out a great sword from his back, while he was donned in armor made of scales. As Veerurk held his great sword highly into the air, with the orc chief using his spear instead, Veerurk was about to swing his sword down for the charge signal.
Seeing two chief's were openly show themselves, Zuyuan frowned his eyebrows as he muttered, "Here it comes.."
*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*
Suddenly, gunshots and noises of two objects colliding between each other could be heard in the air. Each chief was surrounded by a transparent shield, with bullets continually hitting the shield. Moving his gaze towards his surroundings, Zuyuan saw that all missionaries that had the sniper gun already took out their weapons the moment their opponent's chief came out.
"Never miss a chance." Commented Ling Zhue on the side in a joking tone.
Soon, a giant made of stone rose from the ground and stood up amongst the orc's missionaries. Holding a boulder on his right hand, the giant threw it right at Veerurk with unstoppable speed.
As Zuyuan was about to jump to slash the boulder, the missionary with knight armor had taken the initiative before him and cut the boulder in two while he was in the air. Whistling while he watched the knight-like missionary on the ground, Ling Zhue said playfully, "So they have a giant too huh."
"I had fought against it. Let me take care of it." Said Zuyuan while he smiled at Ling Zhue, "But there's one particular missionary with the power of telekinesis and psychics. I think he will be a good opponent for you."
"Heh! Give em to me! My hands have been itching to fight against a strong enemy!" Said Maverick on Ling Zhue's right side.
"Sure." Replied Zuyuan at the same time when goblins and hobgoblins warriors howled on top of their lungs. Their eyes were bloodshot as they had realized that their chief was being attacked in broad daylight right in front of their eyes.
The same scene happened on the other side. The orc warriors became restless as they shouted how they would tear the goblins apart. Seeing the unfolding scene, Zuyuan glanced at Ling Zhue, "Guess it will start soon."
Nodding in agreement from Zuyuan's words, Ling Zhue looked towards his surroundings and noticed that the rest of the missionaries had understood that this war would start at any time.
Shortly, Veerurk came down from the platform with his expression filled with fury. Waving his hand to the air, a goblin quickly blowing a bugle as loudly as he could.
Right after the signal for the charge had been sounded, both armies dashed at each other with their weapons at the ready. Running for a while, Ling Zhue said a few words before his body became a flash of lightning, "See you on the other side."
"Haha, come to daddy, you all sh*theads!" Spoke Maverick while a pair of gigantic bat wings spread out from his back and flew him to the sky with his crossbow. Behind him, XB11 followed with its gun and already continually shot towards the missionaries, while many varieties of energy shields were being activated.
The scene quickly turned to one of absolute carnage, with bullets, lasers, arrows, and stones shooting from both sides. Magic overflowed the air and many powerful elemental blasts raced towards one another.
Those who were not versed in ranged combat immediately made their way towards the center, clashing with each other and sending gusts of winds with each powerful blow they struck at one another.
Some speedily avoided their opponents, while others tanked through everything and continually pushed forth to decimate the enemy ranks.
As Zuyuan had predicted, it was absolute chaos.
The man himself had already moved into the enemy ranks and proceeded to rush towards the giant. With a quick jump powered by his Qigong, Zuyuan appeared before the giant's neck and empowered his sword by guiding his Qigong to cover the entire sword, making it bigger, sharper and better.
With a quick slash and a sharp sound flying through the battlefield, Zuyuan's blade had passed cleanly through the giant's neck.
Once Zuyuan landed, he looked over his surrounding enemies while the giant's head slowly slid off its neck.
Smiling excitedly, Zuyuan said with eyes brimming with killing intent.
"Who's next?!"
