Chapter 41

*Roooaaarrr*

Roaring at the top of its lungs, the creature, Khanda, proceeded to the town's gate. Two ballista shot at it with pin point accuracy, but both of the bolts couldn't penetrate the thick scales and only left some marks on them.

"It looks tough."

Commented Zuyuan as he traversed the town's street with Ling Zhue and many other missionaries. Smirking from Zuyuan's words, Ling Zhue said, "Don't worry. I have seen what these guys around us are capable of, Especially that one."

Ling Zhue's words landed on a man that seemed to be the age of twenty five. His race wasn't human but something called dark elf. His skin was pale in color, his eye's pupil was dyed in crimson, and the classic trait of elves, their protruding ears.

Although he was one of the people who lead the group in the front, his ears twitched after Ling Zhue finished his speech and then the dark elf turned right onto Ling Zhue's direction and said in a loud voice, making the others attention gathered at him and Ling Zhue, "The name's Azreath, human. Call me with my name, not 'that one'."

His face reddened a little from the unexpected answer, Ling Zhue let out a fake cough and glanced at Zuyuan as he said, "And apparently he has a good hearing as well."

Smiling, Zuyuan took a look behind Ling Zhue and saw three people were following the young man with a variety of weapons in their hands. Two males and females. One of the males had a good brown, oily hair that slightly covered a bony, tense pale face with a skull tattoo on his cheek. His eyes were bloodshot red and his teeth had elongated canines.

The other male, has black and frizzy hair that neatly coiffed his piercing emerald eyes. His body was two meters tall and stood out among the rest of the Missionaries, along with his rough, green skin underneath the big robe he wore. His face wasn't that of a human, more like a particular being that Zuyuan had seen in old fantasy movies.

The last member of Ling Zhue's comrade was a female that resembled the dark elf from before. She had the same protruding ears but her skin was more rosy and wasn't pale in comparison. Her hair was chestnut in color, with her eyes dyed in a blue ocean and a scar reaching from just under her right eye.

"Oh it's been a while since we've last seen each other, Zuyuan." Noticing Zuyuan's gaze on her, The female spoke as she giggled, "You still remember me, don't you?"

"Of course, Camilla. It's only been a week or so." Smiled Zuyuan back at her.

"Hey, Zuyuan! Buddy ol' Pal!" Commented the man with a skull tattoo on his cheek suddenly as he grinned, "Now I'll finally be able to see you fight! After all your bragging at the Tavern and what not!"

"So will I, it would be great to finally see what you are made of, Maverick. And I'm not bragging, all I said was true back then.." Retorted Zuyuan back.

"Ha! Yeah, of course. Fighting against all of the strongest humans by yourself is sure the truth, Zuyuan buddy." Replied Marvelick back.

"I'm not fighting all of them.. Just some." Smiled Zuyuan as he shook his head.

"Gruhh." Grunted the last person of the members. A troll by the name of Tesh'Rimon. He never talked in human language most of the time even though he understood them well. He only replies with one or two grunts.

"Guys, I hate to disturb your conversation. But we are almost there." Said Ling Zhue as he pulled out a spear right from the pouch that was as big as his palm.

"Oh? What's that?" Asked Zuyuan curiosity while he stared at the pouch in Ling Zhue's hand.

"Just a space storage pouch. It's as wide as a 4x4 room, more or less. Fancy but we had to buy it using everyone's death points." Chuckled Ling Zhue while he answered Zuyuan's question.

Throwing the pouch to his party members, the man called Maverick pulled out a bolt action crossbow. The crossbow was made from some kind of green stone and sparkled each time the last ray of sunset shone on it. While the troll, Rimon, took out a huge warhammer and the girl, Camilla, pulled out a pair of maces.

*Rooaar!!*

As they got closer, they could see that the predator, Khadan, had already slammed its body over and over in the town's gate. All the hobgoblin utilized every ballista they had but the giant bolts only gave more scratches.

"Everyone! Follow my lead! By the time I'm gonna unleash my trait, all of you should give your best too!" shouted the dark elf called Azreath while he held a magic staff with his hands.

"ᛟ ᚺᛖᛖᛞ ᛗᛖ, ᛏᚺᛖ ᛈᛟᚹᛖᚱ ᛟᚠ ᛞᚨᚱᚴᚾᛖᛋᛋ, ᛁ ᚲᚨᛚᛚᛖᛞ ᛏᚺᛖᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛒᛟᚱᚱᛟᚹ ᛏᚺᚤ ᛗᛁᚷᚺᛏ ᛏᛟ ᛋᛚᚨᚤ ᛗᚤ ᚠᛟᛖ! ᛋᚺᚨᛞᛟᚹ ᚲᚨᚷᛖ! (O heed me, the power of darkness, I called thee to borrow thy might to slay my foe! Shadow Cage!)"

Shortly after he finished his chant, five huge chains made of shadows appeared and surrounded Khadan. They quickly wrapped around its body, not giving it any time to react before tightly restraining all of its movements as it roared in protest. Soon after, a cage slowly formed around its whole body frame and trapped it inside.

"Oraaa!" One of the missionaries at the front quickly raised his greatsword that glowed with crimson light, swinging it downwards with all his might. The sword slash sent a wave of energy that passed through the cage unhindered and assaulted the creature itself.

*Kaboom!*

Khadan's entire body frame was swept from under its legs and pushed into the walls of the cage, slamming it with tremendous force that served to anger the beast even more so than before.

"ROOARRRR!" Khadan roared in anger, speaking in the draconic language. "Xsiol! Hofibavi vilklviri, si geou krikvlic wux waoli!! (Damnit! Foolish worms, I will tear you apart!!)"

Looking at the creature's eyes that shone brighter than before, Zuyuan had a bad feeling about what's to come, "Careful, it might do something-"

Before his warning finished, Khadan held its head high as it opened its jaw towards where the missionaries gathered. A blinding light radiated from its throat as it spoke with hatred.

"Loreat! (Die!)"
