Death God's System

You do not trust a man who has nothing to lose. Jester, the god of death and misery goes back in time to take revenge against his previous reincarnation. Keiren Astaroth finds himself at death's door, forced to pay for sins he did not commit. The seven races fought for a throne, the highest seat in the universe. Trapped in the future, Keiren must live as Caedes Volkov, someone the 7 races want dead. If that wasn't enough? Keiren Astaroth was the son of Ifrit, the first primordial. He was the rightful heir to what Jester was essentially stripped of. The Forgotten Throne. *** The ML will not just wake up and be oh so the devourer of worlds or anything as such. So please don't expect him to get his powers in the starting chapters. He'll grow, develop, and only then will he realize his purpose in the world. The purpose of Caedes Volkov. Would request the readers to read the first 10 chapters before dropping the book since the main story starts at chapter 8 itself. The first 7 chapters are the prologue and just an overview about the world. [Webnovel Spirity Awards 2024 Entry] 15 Power stones = 1 bonus chapter The cover is not mine, if the owner wants, I'll remove it.

Resurrected

In the middle of an ocean, a boy could be seen drowning rapidly. His body had countless wounds. It was like all of the blood was sucked out of his body.

An illusionary figure appeared in parallel to Caedes, sinking right beside him. This figure looked quite similar to the boy, just older.

This being had wavy hair dyed in white, some facial hair around his lips and a futuristic cloak adorning his body.

All of a sudden, the being's eyelids flipped open. Its azure blue eyes shone in the dark blue ocean water.

"Caedes..."

The man tilted his head to the dead body beside him with a wild abandon.

A smirk formed on the man's face.

"This is when I had died. The point where it all started. Kekeke- You were the reason I suffered. Now try living the life I lived. The life that was forced onto me before I became, Jester. The god of death and misery!'

Vanishing into particles, the man known as Jester disappeared. Joyful at finally ressurecting Keiren into the future. Into the body of Caedes Volkov.

As the so called boy sank deeper into the ocean, a fish brushed past his body, swimming away.

Bubbles came out of its mouth as the fish started acting weird, moving around the water when it burst into a small pool of blood.

Noticing this peculiar occurrence, the sea creatures around the dead body became curious and walked towards it with caution.

What followed after that was a scene never seen before as every living being that touched him disintegrated or burst into a mess of flesh and blood.

This, however, was overshadowed by what happened next.

The red color of Caedes' skin, his wounds and even the remaining scars around his body disappeared without a trace, if not for the torn pieces of cloth that clung to his body and his ash grey hair that were dyed in blood; one would even doubt if what they saw previously was an illusion.

Drowning further and further, all that followed Caedes was death.

His eyes flickered open as he gazed at himself drowning deeper and deeper into the ocean,

"Why did I not die? He screamed internally, this was not what he wanted.

Caedes wanted to die, returning to the peace that people said they would get after obtaining death.

He wanted to live a happy life, to not be looked down upon, to be loved…

It was not like Theodore did not love him. The man did. The only problem was that at one point, Caedes had become Theo's obsession. The boy he wanted to fix. The boy who was broken. Abandoned...

All Caedes ever wanted was to live happily and Theo only made him realise how broken he was.

'Was it that hard for him to just love me?'

Although Caedes knew that his thoughts were naïve and even childish to some extent, it wasn't entirely his fault.

Just like when a person is hungry, they can only satiate their hunger by eating food or when a beggar is poor, one of the few things he wants the most is money.

It is simply in our nature, to desire most of what we don't have.

The boy felt lost, who was he or better yet what even was he? How can someone just revive after dying? How can someone make these creatures die upon touching him?

He didn't know…

'Are all these weird powers within me related to these weird dreams of that boy named Keiren I have? When a person awakens his or her bloodline, they have the chance to view their ancestral god's memories..'

Caedes didn't know what to do next. Was he supposed to act like nothing happened and go back to Theodore? There was also the fact that he could breathe underwater.

Would people care for him then? After all, Raphael's father was only influential in this country in Egypt and there are many places he could go to and start a new life…

The boy's thoughts were a mess.

He did not want to live again. To live without a purpose, not knowing who his parents are, not knowing if the world in his dreams was real?

Caedes knew that he was just overthinking. This wasn't a fantasy where he could just make up things according to his convenience.

Would his parents be back? No! Is there anyone in this world he knows or could even call a friend? Lol- NO!

Then why did he have to live? Why can he not die? Could it be that he was immortal? Like just now when he was sure he died but here he is again… Alive.

A blinding light flashed across the ocean, driving away from the darkness that had shrouded the sea.

Caedes screamed as he felt a few dozen of his bones being crushed by a sudden force beside him, his body crashed deep into the seabed as he slowly got back up, looking at the huge octopus in front of him.

The creature glanced at the boy indifferently, raising its tentacles towards him.

The boy's bloodshot eyes met the creature as it glared at him, apparently even this creature wasn't immune to this weird phenomenon of touching him and dying.

As if angry, the octopus appeared in front of him and swung one of its tentacles at the back of the boy with full force, resulting in his upper body blasting into a mess of blood and flesh.

Being thrown back with insane speed, the flesh of his torso crazily stitched itself.

"You can also try your luck in killing me, you overgrown octopus…"

Although Caedes said it without emotion, his words touched the creature's sore spot. An imaginary smile could be seen on its face as a strange glint flashed past it's octopus eyes.

"If that's what you want."
