now that I'm an unchecking my status I guess I should check the beginning here the gods gave all I have is an ordinary iron sword and basic leather armor.
iron sword
5 sharpness
(25/25) durability
basic leather armor
5 defense
(25/25) durability
it seems I'm starting with somewhat decent equipment I guess it could have been worse I could have got nothing. it seems that the weapons and armor in this world don't actually add stat points or maybe mine are just too low level to have any. I guess we'll have to wait and see
I guess the first thing I need to do is try to get the identification skill. I guess I should do whatever other novel protagonist does and just start staring at random crap. tree, leaf, bush, dirt, grass, pile of animal s***.
*ding you have learned the skill identification LVL 1*
I can't believe that actually worked. to think all those novel protagonists were actually right I figured it was just a load of s***. well at least now I should at least be able to understand the very basics of what's around me. no I guess it's time to hunt I guess while I'm mad at you try to learn the tracking and stealth skills as well. they'll come in hand to you later down the line.
I look back at the pile of animal feces again. I managed to see some light footprints in the dirt. I can't even made by anything big the piles also relatively small as well, it seems fairly fresh as well. I think I'll follow the tracks and see where they go.
after about 10 minutes of following them I finally found what made him. it seemed to be one of the most basic animals in every fantasy story, a horned rabbit. once I spotted it I even managed to get the tracking skill hopefully it'll help me next time.
I used the identification skill on it.
species: horned rabbit
level: 1
MP: (1/1)
attributes
body: 1
mind: 1
magic: 1
skills
(jump) (impale)
it's skills were pretty self-explanatory I just had to watch for when it jumped and make sure it wasn't able to use the skill and impale. even though it's stats were much lower than mine I had to be careful.
it seemed to be eating some wild weed in the middle of a clearing. I slowly took steps forward making sure not to make any noise. I got as close as I possibly could, and I charged and swung my sword. I managed to cut it clean across the back of its neck, I managed to decapitate it in one swing. it seems that low level for rabbits don't have very much perception.
well this is good news for me before I checked up on the body I first looked around and made sure there was no more around cuz I know sometimes rabbits like to be groups for safety. but I'm not sure if regular animal behavior applies here.
I looked around and didn't manage to find anything so I came back to the body and checked my status while I was at it. while I was sneaking up on the rabbit I managed to learn the stealth skill. I decided to cut up its corpse instead of using the flower right away. I hope that I manage to be able to get the dissection skill I also wanted to save the horn to see if I could use it as material later.
after dissecting the rabbit I actually managed to get the skill. I think the reason I managed you to get skills so easily is because of the X10 exp boost. in the end I decided not to use devour on the rabbit I felt like it would be a waste none of its skills were very useful anyway.
it turns out that level one horned rabbits only give one XP per kill thankfully I managed to get 10 XP though with my growth skill. I managed to level up to 2, it seems that every level is exp requirement is double that of the previous so I'm now five XP short of level 3.
I got five free attribute points, I put three into body, one into mind, and one into mana. there's no point in putting more into mind and manna when I don't really have any skills that rely heavily on it yet it's better to increase my body strength in order to get XP quicker and level up faster.
I use my tracking skill and look for anymore animal signs in the area. I managed to pick up the trail of some more horned rabbits, I decided to stalk them and hunt them some more after I put the horned rabbit corpse into my personal dimension.
it seems that God has decided to be nice. while one part of the personal dimension is a whole other world there seems to be a little pocket dimension that I can store things inside, so the corpse of my horned rabbit shouldn't rot anytime soon.
I thought about it it might be better to use devour on the horned rabbit. there's no point in saving the uses now I can't hunt anything strong. and each use gives me more skill proficiency as well, and I think I can use the skills jump and impale while not in animal form since they're compatible with my human body. it should make surprising my prey much easier especially if I can find the jump with impale using my sword.
I use devour on the rabbit corpse the skill used 15 mana, draining half my mana pool. I can't imagine the cost with more powerful creatures. it seems the skills were compatible with my human body so I didn't have to transform into the rabbit to use them.
I followed the trail I found in the woods after a few minutes of following I came across two horned rabbits. I activated stealth and snuck up on them, thankfully the skill is able to be used with or without mana. I don't think I need to use mana on these horn rabbits for the same level as the one I fought before.
I got as close as I could to them. I rushed out and decapitated one. that gave the other time to react they tried to charge me, but I activated jump and impale. jump managed to make me move at least 5 ft within less than a second, and within pale I managed to coat the tip of my sword with some mana and Pierce the rabbit all the way down to the hilt.
it seems I didn't actually need to use impale at all, it was a little Overkill. thankfully jump doesn't use mana and instead uses my stamina. thankfully I added more stats to my body I can probably use a skill 10 times before I have to rest.
I decided to dissect the two rabbits before storing them to add more proficiency in the dissect skill.
and then I kept moving trying to find more prey.
