Emerald Hotel's biggest venue was decorated extravagantly for this special day. Although media was allowed, they were still closely monitored and regulated.
Everyone needed to be registered and only those that carried invitation were allowed to enter.
Some were prominent people but there were also regular employees mixed in the crowd.
Although the place was indeed huge, it was still a bit crowded.
Han Meixiu could only identify at least 10% of the total people inside. That was already a good thing. If she didn't meet Liu Yu Yao, she could probably identify 3% at most.
The older Liu couple was busy as a host and Liu Zilong was performing his duty well in a certain part of the venue.
Although the entire place was coated in a lively atmosphere, Han Meixiu was feeling a bit down. Her mood was not hidden from Liu Zijian who was standing near her carrying the little princess.
Little Yu was quietly resting on his mother's arms while his eyes were curiously roaming around.
"Cousin Yu!" Han Meixiu happily called out the man who was approaching.
Zhang Yu greeted Liu Zijian before he stood near his cousin.
"This is the little prince. He's so well behaved." He said as he smiled and looked at the innocent baby. "Can I carry him?"
"Of course. But do you know how?" Han Meixiu worriedly asked. Her own husband practiced several times before he had the courage to hold the twins confidently one at a time.
However, Zhang Yu…might not be able to.
The man looked at Liu Zijian. It actually looked easy but seeing the knitted eyebrows of his cousin's husband, he changed his mind.
"It's better to just look at him, he he." Zhang Yu answered. Even until now, his relationship with Liu Zijian was still considered cold.
Han Meixiu chuckled.
"It's a good thing you're able to attend today." She said after a while. She sided a little for Zhang Yu to see the little prince.
"Of course, I'm representing your maternal family." He said without looking at the woman. He was focus making faces for Little Yu.
When the baby smiled and eventually laughed, Zhang Yu wanted to squeeze him but feeling a certain force behind him, he could only scream inside.

After a while, Madam Liu came and took little Yu from Han Meixiu.
Although Zhang Yu also wanted to greet the little princess, Liu Zijian was selfishly holding her. He could only sigh.
By the time Han Meixiu was freed from Little Yu, Zhang Yu gave her an envelope with a simple seal.
"Invitation for?" Han Meixiu asked.
"My engagement. If you are busy, you don't really need to attend." Zhang Yu simply answered.
"You sound as if this isn't an important event. When do you plan the wedding?"
"Probably next year, if everything is okay."
Han Meixiu nodded and opened the envelope. "Gao Jingyi? The only daughter of Gao family? Isn't she sick?"
"She was. But recently she was getting better according to her parents." Zhang Yu answered. While answering, there was a hint of surprise on his voice.
Originally, he thought Han Meixiu didn't know the woman. But then again, he might be wrong.
"It's good then. Your wedding day would be after she recovers?" Han Meixiu asked. If Liu Yu Yao didn't tattle too much about Q City's prominent families, there's no way she would know the young lady of Gao Family.
Zhang Yu nodded before changing the topic. "Are you happy?"
His marriage wasn't really something special. It was the usual trend in the business circle, creating ties between two families. It's similar to a cooperative transaction. As long as both parties benefits from the union, then everything would be fine.
By this time, the two walked towards a little less crowded area.
"I am." Han Meixiu answered as her soft gaze rested on Liu Zijian who was carrying the little princess while talking to Grandpa Xu. Her smile deepend after seeing him smile subtly moving while holding Little Rong.
"Good. I can see that they treat you well." Zhang Yu said following her line of sight. He still find bizarre seeing Liu Zijian carrying a baby and looking like a master nanny.
"Cousin Yu, you'll be happy too when you get married."
Zhang Yu let out a slight laughed before he answered. "Probably."
Even though his marriage would be similar to a business transaction, he also planned to make it work. Who knows, maybe he could be as happy as what his cousin was saying.
The two talked for a while before Grandpa Xu came carrying the sleeping little princess.
Zhang Yu was able to see the little angel. Although he couldn't play with her, he was still satisfied to get close to her.
In the end, Only Zhang Yu came from Han Meixiu's side.
Although she expected that her parents wouldn't really show up, it still gave her a sour feeling inside.

It seemed that some members were really targeting 92 because of her special situation.

The following day, Madam Liu wasn't able to go to see the twins. She was probably tired from the event the night before.

After checking the twins, she went to the living room to wait for Li Xiaozi.
Like what she expected, the visitor was right on time.

"Aren't you going to ask how am I?"
"Ugh, I came here for the twins and not for you. Besides, aren't you always good?"
Han Meixiu slightly shook her head before she lead Li Xiaozhi to the twins room.
"Look! Little Yu is awake. He must have known his pretty aunt is coming. Aren't you a sweet little angel?"
When the woman was in the act of picking the baby up, Han Meixiu spoke.
"Don't randomly hold him. Change into something clean and wash your hands. Don't kiss him, too."
Li Xiaozhi stared at Han Meixiu dumbfoundedly. "Why so many rules?"
"I don't want my child picking up viruses randomly.."
Li Xiaozhi's lips opened and closed while her finger pointed at herself. After confirming that Han Meixiu was indeed serious, she pouted and contentedly looked at the babies.
"Fine! I can still recharge myself by simply looking at them!"
Han Meixiu's brows knitted. 'Are my twins power source?'
As the usual routine everytime Li Xiaozhi would visit, she would rant out her grievances about her work.
"Cold cases?" Han Meixiu asked again.
"Yes! Although my superior is against my decision joining that team, I still processed my request."
"But why do you want to join? Didn't you say cold cases are the hardest to solve?"
Back when the two were still roommates, Han Meixiu remembered that Li Xiaozhi discussed the special department of police. One of them was the cold cases.
From the name itself, these cases remain unsolved and the probability of being solved would be almost zero unless the police would discover a new evidence.
"I was thinking that maybe I can get some information about your parents if I join the team. Considering the time they left you and the time we saw them in hiding, the case regarding them might fall in this special department."
"You want to be part of them because of me?" Han Meixiu wanted to almost tear up. She bit her lip to stop her rolling emotions.
Li Xiaozhi laughed after seeing Han Meixiu's reaction. "Didn't I promise you? Besides, the merits I could get if I solve a case would be greater than a regular one. It's like killing birds with one stone!"
Li Xiaozhi excitedly stated. Yes, she wanted to help Han Meixiu but at the same time, she also wanted to challenge herself.
After Li Xiaozhi left, Han Meixiu was still in a state of confusion. When she finally calmed down, she only whispered.
