9 Yoona and Jisoo

The atmosphere at the room was dense. It went on for some minutes before Mrs Park decided to break the silence,

'Hummm, I will choose to believe you for now. I'm willing to take you in our family only because of Aiden, but remember that you'll never be truly accepted in the family. You won't be able to change anyone's mind on that' after saying so Mrs Park left leaving Yoona alone in the room.

Yoona sat alone in the room for sometime, soon after she too got up and left. There was no one outside as she stepped out.

'I can't believe her, most of all I can't believe that those cliché scenes I read in the manhuas are actually happening to me GEEZ...

Forget it Yoona, no matter what they say you're going to marry Aiden anyway and Mrs Park I can change your mind and everyone else's too' Yoona thought to herself and smiled.

'Woah.... your smile really looks creepy right now' Jisoo said and shivered. Wait, you actually look really sad right now, damn did someone bully my precious friend. Nana, tell me who did that, I'll go break their bones' Jisoo said flaring up.

Yoona chuckled seeing Jisoo all triggered, she was really protective over her.

'It's nothing, I'm just tired due to the workload' she made up an excuse. She couldn't just say that Mrs Park came and soiled her mood afterall. She hadn't told Jisoo anything yet so she kept it to herself.

Jisoo frowned but nodded at Yoona's words. She looked at Yoona again and whispered inaudibly,

'But Nana you look really sad'

'Huh! Ji-ji did you say something, I couldn't hear you' Yoona enquired

'I said let's go grab some Soju and chicken after work today' Jisoo smiled 'You know that we haven't been hanging around for such a long time' Jisoo continued and looked at Yoona with her puppy eyes excitedly hoping for her to say yes.

'Fine.... I'll go, now get back to work will you' Yoona laughed off.

'Then that's it, it's a deal.... let's go grab Soju and chicken after work' Jisoo clapped her hands and giggled excitedly.

'Now, now get back to work and finish all your pending works. There's still lots of time before we get to go home'

Yoona reminded Jisoo before she herself got indulged in finishing her works.

Jisoo groaned, 'You take your works too seriously. I mean it's good but, we can atleast talk for sometime right' she looked at Yoona expecting an answer from her. However she didn't bat a single eyelash towards her

'Ahhhh.....' Jisoo whined 'Too much of work to do' nevertheless she too sat down and got back to work alongside Yoona, keeping a check on her once every minute.

Jisoo could tell that she was upset but she hadn't told her the reason why so she just kept on checking up on her time to time incase she started crying.

Jisoo was very protective of Yoona even though she was capable of protecting herself. It all started when they were in highschool.

' You have been WARNED '

Yoona and Jisoo were friends since their highschool days, both were seventeen years of age and they were like the two sides of the moon. Their friendship surprised everyone as they wondered how they got along so well.

Yoona was a popular and bright student while Jisoo was an average student who had a knack of getting in trouble, though mostly it was because the others kept provoking and bullying her due to her being an orphan, she was a loner and hardly spoke to anyone. The teachers didn't want to help her out too, Yoona was her seatmate who seemed genuine to her but Jisoo always rejected her approaches. She had been hurt too much by those around her, she didn't want any more of it she was tired of being seen as a joke to others.

However an incident happened which brought them together.

Jisoo had been cornered into a side while fighting with her brothers bullies. She was wandering about during the lunch break when she stumbled across her brother being bullied. She wasn't aware of her brother being bullied and neither did he tell her. Her brother layed on the ground with blood on his mouth and nose, Jisoo felt as though someone had thrust a knife through her.

Being a black belt in Judo and Taekwondo she charged towards those six guys without any hesitation, however they too happened to know some moves. She took down four of them but now that her body was tiring out all she could do was punch sloppily at the other two guys.

She had been overpowered by those two bullies and her brother was laying down on the ground crying and shaking in fear,

'Sorry Jin, I couldn't protect you. I'm sorry' Jisoo felt her tears falling down.

She could hear the voices of the bullies laughing at her, she closed her eyes as one of the guys prepared to punch her, but the fists didn't hit her. She opened her eyes to see that Yoona had taken the punch for her, she then kicked one of the guys in the place the sun doesn't shine (>_<) and she then threw sand in the other guys eyes.

Jisoo blinked everything happened too fast, her brain was still processing what had happened. Yoona asked her if she was alright and hurried up to check on her brother. By then members of the Disciplinary Council had come over and took hold of the bullies. Jisoo was still crying holding her brother and trying to clean up the blood in his face, Yoona talked to her to calm her down and took them both to the school nurse with the help of another student.

Jisoo couldn't remember what happened after that in detail cuz she had passed out. When she woke up she checked around her for her brother and panicked when he wasn't in the nurse room.

'Jisoo your brothers condition was bad he had lost lots of blood and some of his ribs were broken so we took him to the hospital. Don't panic he is been taken care of by the renowned Doctor Lee and it seems that the bill has been taken care of by Yoona your friend' Eunha the school nurse chuckled and informed her all while smiling at her warmly, she was trying to cheer her up and comfort her, she felt sorry for Jisoo. How can people be so cruel she thought to herself.

'Take rest, don't strain yourself, l have to go somewhere now' Eunha said and left her alone.

Jisoo closed her eyes and laid down. She was really thankful to Yoona for helping her out.

'Why would she help me, she won't get anything for helping me' Jisoo thought.

However she was really thankful to Yoona for saving her brother, tears welled up in her eyes again as she thought of how her brothers condition could have been worse had Yoona not come for help. Jin was her only family left in the world, her father had passed away when she was five and her brother was of three years in age. Her mother thought of both of them as a hindrance and trouble to her and abandoned them at the roadside while she left the city after selling all their properties.

She and her brother were taken pity on by a man who noticed them while taking a walk and he bought them up as his own as he had no children, their life wasn't the best but it was good. Daesung, who was like their father owned a small coffee shop with which they met their requirements. However he passed away the previous year due to heart problems, leaving her brother and her alone again, she couldn't imagine what would have happened to her if she lost Jin too. She owed Yoona a lot for this, as she was thinking about it, Yoona came in to see her.

'Ahh.... Jisoo you're awake that's good. Here have this' she passed her two banana milk.

Jisoo nodded and took the milk she then looked up at Yoona

'Thankyou for everything today and for this

milk too. As for my brothers treatment I'll pay you back after some days' Jisoo said while blushing, she was embarrassed.

Yoona gasped, 'I didn't want you to pay me back, I did it because I wanted to help you, besides I was the one who asked my dad to check up on your brother' Yoona smiled

'Is Doctor Lee your dad' Jisoo was surprised.

'Ofcourse we even have the same last name' Yoona chuckled.

'Ooohhh....' was all Jisoo could say as she looked down from embarrassment once again.

'But why did you help me' Jisoo asked her curiously.

'Because I can feel that you're a good person. Others all approach me only for what I am and my looks, I wanted a real friend for once someone who understands what I feel and who isn't two faced. I'm tired of being used by others for their advantage. I saw you as someone who I can relate to, so I tried to make friends with you but all you did was push me away heheh' Yoona laughed.

Jisoo looked surprised when Yoona said those words, she didn't expect that from Yoona.

'Jisoo are you willing to be my friend. I mean no hurries you can take your time. I'm just asking' Yoona smiled.

'I can give it a try I guess' Jisoo said softly

Yoona's joy knew no bounds that time.

While Yoona was doing a happy dance around the room Jisoo was looking at Yoona's swollen cheeks.

'I won't let others hurt you again' she promised herself

The evening went by as Yoona kept on teasing her and trying to pry a conversation out of her.

That was the day a new bond of friendship was made. One build up from crushed feelings and hope, both found comfort between each other.

Yoona leaned towards Jisoo who was sleeping. She was smiling but tears were streaming down her face too.

'I wonder what kind of dream she's having' Yoona mumbled and rubbed the tears off Jisoo's face while waking her up.

'What were you dreaming about Ji-ji' Yoona asked her as Jisoo woke up and rubbed her eyes.

'I dreamed about something so good that it brought tears to my face' Jisoo laughed.

Yoona shook her head at her disapprovingly and turned around.

Jisoo smiled, Yoona had changed her for good. No one would believe that the one she was right now was the previous Jisoo. Her personality had totally changed and along with the glow up she got during her growing stage she was now totally unrecognizable. Jin was now a Doctor too, though not as renowned as Yoona's parents he was still pretty much known very well by almost everyone in the field of Neurology.

She gazed at the far distance from the window at her side,

'I feel so alive now' she thought as the corners of her mouth lifted up.

'Nana.... I can't wait to go and enjoy, what about you' Jisoo went and poked Yoona.

Annoying her was Jisoo's hobby, and as expected Yoona gave her the desired reaction she wanted. The room was filled with laugher and a not so pleased Yoona. The day started off a bit twisted however heyy.... it wasn't that bad right (^ . ^)

Here ya go, tortoise Author is back with another update. I'm trying my best to update as soon as possible heheh :D.

Also I made this chapter focused on Jisoo.... cuz I feel like it wouldn't be good as to how I've set Jisoo as a very protective friend of Yoona and give no explanation for that. Everything has a reason behind it.... so I made this chapter focused in Jisoo and yes she's a very lovable character.

Also one thing:

Bullying is really bad and it's not good to be a bully, it's best we refrain from it :(
