Confused with my current situation, I just did as Vincent said, "Iske Grace"

"I see, a Grace huh, so tell me, for what reason I should not kill you and send your head to the Grace's state"

My throat was dry, his words were scary, and his mana was much more terrifying.

Vincent Taylor, the current head of the Taylor family, like Grace and Medici, Taylor is also one of the Three Great Families, and he's the head of that family, the strongest Ascender alive, some even discuss that he's perhaps the strongest Ascender to ever exist, surpassing even the ancient heroes who defeated the demon king. This is the level of respect he has, and also the amount of strength he carries.

He's so out of ordinary, that he's not even considered Grade 1 Ascender, which before him was considered the pinnacle of Ascenders, he's in a Grade of his own, Grade 0, that Grade was only created because of him, for him and only him. No one ever reached that Grade in the future.

Not even Liam in the end of the novel reached his level, Liam the main character in his prime could never beat this man in front of me.

And I need to impress this man.

With a smile, I said, "Well if you kill me right now, you will lose a great opportunity"

He was intrigued and asked, "What kind of opportunity?"

"The opportunity of watch with your own eyes the growth of someone who will surpass you"

With my words Vincent was silenced, he didn't speak for a couple of seconds, he was astonished, and I took the opportunity to continue.

"Give me ten, no, five, give me five years and I'll surpass you"

My words made him laugh, laugh very hard, as he was laughing the surroundings returned to normal, and suddenly I was not trapped in that second anymore, everyone then turned confused to me and Vincent, because he was laughing a lot.

Then as he finished laughing, he cleaned a tear that escaped from his eyes and said, "You better keep your words, Iske Grace, you pass"

Everyone was a bit confused about what happened, and it seems that indeed they couldn't see a thing while the time was frozen. That's insane, Vincent is truly a monster, even though I read the novel I don't understand what just happened, or what he did.

His powers and abilities are not explored in the novel, he was labeled as the strongest, and helped Liam in some situations, before his inevitable death against the demon king.

I guess in the novel he was the most misused character, it will be good changing his fate and making him live. He will be a great help for me.

The rest of the exam occurred without much problems, and it ended very fast, not a single one of the participants failed. It was something said in the novel, that this generation was far better than the previous ones, the generation which was more approved in World's academy entrance exams.

Although later on in the year this number will drop.

"Congratulations, welcome to World Academy" Adam said and the scenario around us changed once again.

Suddenly the white bright room was replaced with an immense bridge, the width and length of that bridge was truly big, and ahead of it, at the end of that bridge is the World Academy.

A long time ago there was the biggest mountain in the world, it was so immense that it reached the clouds, but one day a person with a dream decided to cut off that mountain, and build an academy on the base of that mountain.

This is the story of how World's academy was created, now what remains of that mountain is a huge flat surface with the academy on it.

The teachers disappeared after we were transported to this bridge, leaving us with Adam, and he didn't seemed glad to be with us, walking that bridge he eventually reached the base of the cutted mountain, and there he saw two plates one indicating to the left and saying 'academy' and the other the contents are erased and it indicates the right side.

Adam then said, "Well, the plates are self explanatory, so…, welcome and that's it… I'm forgetting something…? Oh, yeah, the visors"

Saying that he snapped his finger and many devices fell from the sky to each student there, it was a kind of watch type device.

"Well, these are called visor, and it's…" he paused and yawned and closed his eyes for a second almost falling asleep, then he opened them again and said, "You guys can figure it out by yourselves"

Saying that he disappeared.

I looked around and saw that everyone was thinking the same as me.

How did a guy like that become a vice director?

Ignoring that I focused on the visor and placed it on my wrist, I already knew what that device was for, as I put the watch on my wrist I felt something sharp penetrating my wrist and then some kinds of weird energy going through my whole body.

It's a weird feeling, It feels like my privacy is being invaded. This watch is called visor, and is a watch that helps Ascenders in a lot of ways, one of them is the capability of seeing the status.

As the visor finished analyzing me, it turned on and revealed my status.

This is the system, every Ascender has their own 'System' inside themselves, this system is the system that rules their powers, every Ascender has a different system because each is a different being, and each Ascender must find a way to maximize this system. And the visor makes this job easier, because even though every Ascender has their own system, we can not see it ourselves, but the visor can, and it helps the Ascenders improve.

My status are better than what I expected, not my mana though, F… it must be because I recreated my signature and lost most of my mana pool, his affinities are the same as the novel indeed, only Shadows and Fire, and it seems that it recognized that I learned the Grace Style, but I don't what the 'Adapted' means.

The visor also has many other functions, overall is a device to see the 'system' but it can also be used as a smartphone, it has anything that a phone has.

Looking around I saw that everyone was still focused on the visors, and I just waited for a few minutes, then when everyone stopped looking at their system, we started walking towards the academy.

Somehow I have forgotten that the academy has such an extensive territory, probably because the novel would always skip these parts.

Because of that I forgot the only time that Liam complained that this place was big, it was right after he entered the World academy, when he had to walk for two hours straight to reach the World academy.

It was an uphill walk, which was very tiring, if it was me in my previous life I would be on the ground almost dying, good thing that I'm now superhuman. After two hours and a half, we reached the academy's entrance. A huge gate made of dark wood.

There, contrary to all my expectations, we were received by a bunch of reporters, there were camera flashes everywhere as people flooded us with questions. Some students stopped to talk with them for a while, but most ignored them.

I even asked some questions directly to myself, but paid no mind. Eventually a person came, a man, black hair and blue eyes, wearing the World's academy student uniform.

"Hey guys, we told that the academy grounds are forbidden for reporters, if you want an interview or anything like that you have to talk with our journalism president" 

As he said that he started making everyone leave, but different from me and the rest who walked for hours before reaching this place, they left through a portal.

Couldn't they place a portal down on the bridge?

After making the reporters leaving, the man came towards us and introduced himself, "Hello, you guys must be the new students, I'm Jake, I'm the male's dormitory president, and I'm here to take the boys with me"

Jake… He was mentioned sometimes in the novel, he's a nice and easy going person.

"Don't worry ladies, the president of the female dormitory will arrive soon, although I wonder where she

He didn't have the opportunity to finish, because a woman came running desperately, she arrived beside Jake and was panting.

"Why didn't anyone tell me that the new students arrived?" She asked Jake.

"Well, knowing that it was Adam who were dealing with the exams, I knew that I had to be here earlier"

"That guy, how did we let him became the vice director"

Jake didn't answered that, and then the woman recomposed herself and said, "Hello, I'm Amelia, I'm the female's dormitory president, ladies, follow me"

"Boys with me," Jake said.

As they said that, the gate opened revealing the insides of the academy.

Then Jake and Amelia said in unison, "Welcome to World's academy"
