73 Battle to the ground

The weapon was designed to be a perfect counter against the White Whale. The harpoon was created with vows that make it impossible for the whale to resist it. Then, the box will pull the whale to the ground and trap it, taking away the monster's biggest advantage.

It's the perfect weapon against the White Whale, but unfortunately, Leo didn't manage to completely fix it.

"What do we do now?" Samuel asked as he saw the box falling from the Sky city and disappearing in the clouds.

"Now we hit that thing until it falls on the ground, then the whale will be trapped by the box," Leo explains.

Samuel glances towards the monster agonizing with the harpoon in its stomach and says, "Just hitting it…"

Saying that he jumped from the edge of the Sky city towards the monster in the clouds, Leo watched as Samuel reached the whale and used his fist to strike its head.

The blow made the whale lose a bit of strength, and the box pulled the whale towards the ground, but it was only a short distance, in a few seconds the monster recomposed itself and started struggling against the box.

In the same instant it was prepared to swing his body to throw away Samuel, and the boy took the opportunity and used the whale's strength with its own to jump back to the Sky city.

Landing a few meters away from Leo, who approached him and asked, "Are you crazy?"

Samuel ignored his comment, "We going to need far more than that to bring it down"

Saying that, he prepared once again to launch himself towards the whale, Leo was about to stop him, but it was not needed, because Liam arrived together with Ella and Julie.

"Wait Samuel!" Liam shouted approaching them.

Samuel paused and glanced back, and Liam added, "Don't go yet, we have a plan"

Arriving there, Julie glanced at Samuel and then at Leo, she recognized him, "Aren't you Leo Diaz?"

Leo smiled, "Yeah, and you're Julie Rose, it's a pleasure meeting you" He extended his hand towards her.

But she only stared at him with suspicion, "Weren't you supposed to be with the Ground folk?"

The atmosphere became tense, Leo and Julie stared at each other with hostility but it didn't last long, because of Liam.

"We don't have time for this" He said standing between the two of them, then glancing at Leo, "You're going to help us, right?"

Taking a few seconds to answer, Leo began to think.

'This was probably Iske's plan, I don't know how he knew that they would need someone to fix the Sky people weapon, and Eliza agreed to this because she wants to unite these two groups, so I have to help them a bit more'

"Of course, you can count on me," Leo said, faking a smile.

Liam sighed in relief, and Samuel asked, "What's the plan?"

This time, Ella took the led and explained, "Lena and Emily will offer us support, the rest of us will do a combined attack, we need to try deal as much as damage as we can"

"That's it?" Samuel asked, thinking it was an easy and simple plan.

"The White Whale is getting tired, it fired those rays of light many times already, and even used Renewal, that thing is getting tired, we just need to make it even tired, so that it can't resist and be pulled down by the box" Liam finished explaining.

Leo nodded agreeing with the plan, and Samuel as well.

Their conversation was ended by arrows crossing the sky shot by Lena which resumed the battle. In the same moment, Ella used her wind magic and Julie summoned her flame eagle.

Watching them flying away towards the whale, Liam asked Samuel, "Can you launch me there?"

Samuel nodded, and then without wasting time launched Liam towards the creature, he drew his sword while in the air, and when reached the beast, he pierced the monster to help him stand on its body.

He was the first one to get there, and decided to not waste a single second, his sword piercing the beast caused no damage to the whale, it was nothing more than a thin needle for the monster.

But that changed once Liam imbued his sword with his aura, activating his innate magic. His aura, boosted by the innate magic, burned through the wound of the sword and spread throughout the entire beast's body.

And because of it, the whale lost more of its strength, and was pulled down a bit more by the box, but not enough, realizing the danger that Liam represents, the Whale started shaking its body to get rid of him.

But with his sword stuck on the beast's body he managed to keep himself on the immense body of the whale, who had to stop focusing on Liam because he sensed a huge movement of mana near his right flipper.

It was Ella and Julie.

Julie who's now flying thanks to Ella and her magic is holding her sword, she let go off her eagle flame so that she could use a sword technique.

Of the two girls the only one who had any energy left was Julie, Ella had already used too much of her mana, the only thing she can do now is use simple wind magics, but nothing that can cause any damage to the monster.

So she resigned herself to the support role, offering any tiny bit of mana that she could offer to Julie.

Totally supported by Ella, Julie then said, "This was not meant to be used against something so big"

She released a deep breath and channeled mana to her sword, as she spoke:

"Julie Rose style, Hell waves"

As she said that she swung her sword, her movement was followed by waves of flames that completely devoured the monster's flipper. The only thing that Julie and Ella could see was flames, nothing more, but they could hear an agonizing sound coming from the beast.

The flames gradually dissipated, revealing the aftermath of Julie's attack. The monster's flipper was charred down to the bone, with only a few shreds of flesh clinging to its skeletal remains.

"Tsk, I wanted to completely turn that into ashes" Julie says, disappointed with her attack.

Even though her attack was below her expectations, it was still very effective against the monster, who once more lost strength and was pulled down to the ground, this time a great distance.

And before the White Whale could do anything to recover, Leo and Samuel appeared from the clouds above and used their fists to hit the whale's head, which made the monster fall even more, and Liam also didn't gave the creature any rest, and once again used his innate magic to cause more damage to the monster.

The combined damage from all of them caused the monster to lose consciousness, leading the whale to plummet from the sky. Liam held tight to his sword to avoid falling. It fell countless meters, and when it was just a dozen meters away from the ground, it woke up, completely furious.

The White Whale created countless small lasers of lights from its mouth, and shot all of them to all its enemies around. The attack made both Ella and Julie fall to the ground, Samuel and Leo managed to dodge, but they also fell.

Liam felt the danger immediately, it was instinct, his instinct warned him, he let go of his sword and fell to the ground, it was the right choice, but unfortunately for him, it was too late.

He saw the laser of light heading towards him and managed to twist his body in the air to avoid it. However, he still didn't dodge completely, and the laser of light passed through the side of his stomach, wiping away any flesh, bone, or blood in its path.

On the ground, Liam could see nothing but a blur, but he could feel no pain, everything was very peaceful in that moment. But something didn't let him rest.
