Chapter 73

“This is good,” said Dom as Kiko sat with his own omelet. Dom didn’t seem to notice that it was smaller. “What’s in it?”

“Roasted butternut, goat cheese, and arugula.”

“You really should open up a café,” said Dom, taking a swig of coffee. Kiko grinned.

“And have Sander come down from Madison to criticize it for all the papers? No thanks.”

“Your ex will stay away if you hire Chad’s mother.”

Kiko laughed.

“I’m sure she’d be only too happy to give him information to fan the flames.”

Dom shrugged.

“This town could use some harmless drama for a change.”

Kiko paused, shoved a forkful of omelet into his mouth. Even Dom was tired of all the murder. He hadn’t heard how many people Bobby had injured before Gordon got him, but no one had died to the best of his knowledge. Dom would have, had they not barged through the maze when they did.

“Let’s hope it stays murder-free for a good long while then,” he said, and Dom nodded.
