CHAPTER 2

A busy day had passed . The war was still raging on , but we were informed that it may end in a few days . I had informed Emlyn about the adventure that we were going to be part of and she was more than interested in taking part .

Emlyn always had an interest for mythical creatures and wandering around , searching for things .

Whenever she got her free time she would take her water bottle and call me to be with her unless I am busy and incase I was busy , then she would spend her free time on books from the castle library.

Emlyn has been my best friend for as long as my memory travelled . Her father used to be a soldier , but when he got injured , her mother took his place and became a soldier. He now works as one of the librarians in the common library of our kingdom .

Emlyn always wanted to be a soldier and despite the opposition from her father , she became one . We are of the same age and started our training together. Father and mother used to send me and Oliver for training . Mother used to say that training with the children ( children who are training to be soldiers ) would be the best for us and that's how I met Emlyn .

I still remember how her brown eyes shone with determination . The moment she entered the training program , she would immediately have folded fists . She used to be really good at kicks and she still is . I must admit the fact that she is much more better at fighting than me , the only problem she had was trusting people and books very fast , and I am exactly the opposite at that . Emlyn used to believe almost all of the books that she read and when we both were free , she would pull me along wih her .

We would wear our disguises and go searching for stuff that she read about and majority of the time we would either be chased by people or animals and end up coming back empty handed , but those are the memories that we will be cherishing for the rest of our lives.

Mother was not very supportive of us wandering off like that , but father was . He used to tell that kids should spend their time exploring , but as we started growing older , he would warn us that not all that we read must be believed . He told us to take less risks , and after a very long time , we were getting ready for a new venture and a very grand one at that . Even though I don't trust father's story completely , I am still excited for this one .

If he was more than enough ready to give us the Blue Moon , this story obviously was worth a lot to him and that is the main reason why I believe seventy five percentage of it . I could sense that there were missing parts in the story , maybe those parts are for us to find out .

Both of us had completed a quick class on maps , ships and the seas . I was taught about the Blue Moon from when I was a kid , so for me it was just a session for revising . Emlyn struggled a bit though , but she pretty much learned a lot as well .

I let out a sigh as I looked around the Blue Moon . We were getting ready for our voyage . Emlyn was arranging some books in our shared room . We thought it would be good to pack some books with us . I had took the book that father had read as well , some of the writings in it are a bit faded though .

Our weapons were packed as well . The people of our kingdom will be told that the ship would be travelling with goods , but would later be disguised .

Oliver has been here with me from the moment I entered the ship .

" You are one lucky fluffy cloud ." He spoke looking at me .

" What ? " I asked him .

"I was telling you that you are lucky , to be the first child to get to be the captain of the Blue Moon . "

" Thanks . Maybe next time , we will go together " I replied , flashing a smile.

" You are also lucky because you wouldn't have to face any pirates or any of those sea creatures you know. "

" Why do you think we may not get attacked , Oliver ? "

" No pirates or monsters are as scary as your face . The moment they see your face , they'll scurry away . Trust me , even I question about how you became my sister , like just look at how handsome I am , and then look at you . " He spoke .

" Don't make me swear in father's presence Olive oil. " I spoke , glancing at father who was standing a bit far away looking at the sea .

" Swearing is not very princessy you know . " He spoke again .

" I don't care . At least, I am not the one believing in sea monsters . " I replied back , folding my arms .

" Well , I have to go , so take care ." He spoke patting me head . I gave him a smile and watched as he walked towards father .

I turned around walking to our shared room . Emlyn must have finished arranging the books by now . I knocked on the door twice . Hearing a faint 'come in ' , I walked inside .

" Hey , are you done with the books ? "

" Yeah. " she spoke taking a bite of an apple . Our room was pretty big . We had wooden shelves which thankfully had doors that could close them , a big table in the middle of the room with some fruits and books on top of it , some chairs , a washroom , two small tables , some lanterns , a bed big enough for three people to lie on , etc. Even though the bed ,

was there , the chances that we will be getting a good sleep on it , could be hard considering the fact that there are only three people who are going to be on the ship . Usually there would be atleast a crew of ten on the ship. Knowing that it would be tough for two to handle a ship alone , we brought Amia with us . She is one of the soldiers as well.

Blue Moon is an old ship and it belonged to my great grandfather . It was not as big as majority of the ships that the rest of the kingdoms had , but it was still big . The Blue Moon has helped Constance many times and the people of Constance have their gratitude towards it .

The Blue Moon was a magnificent light sailing ship . The ship had its own distinctive shape and qualities. It's main mast and mizzen mast had triangular shaped sails , that helped the ship sail against the wind. It had lateen sails . The Blue Moon had a gently sloping bow and a single stern castle . To help steer the ship , it had a swivelling wooden rudder .

" Hey wanna go out ? " I asked Emlyn as I noticed her looking at me . " Sure . " She replied . Both of us walked out to see father walking towards us and was soon joined by Amia as well .

' Hey father " . I spoke out ." Tilda dear , I have to go back to the castle , there are some people who are wishing to see me . " He spoke , he seemed to be in a hurry .

" Best of luck to all of you . Be safe . Try not to jump in front of pirates . I am trusting this gem with you ". He told as he looked at all of us .

" We will be fine , father . " I spoke , a warm smile present on mine , Emlyn's and Amia's face .

" Well then , I am leaving . " He spoke and soon bid us goodbye and walked farther away from us , some soldiers surrounding him as he got off the ship .

We walked further towards the side of the sides and looked at the soldiers standing near the ship .

"Cut the ropes . We have got a venture to attend to ".
