Guillaume started to wander in the outskirts of the plains near nighttime since if he wanted an answer he needed to know what had caused it, and since monsters appear at night it was more or less the best time to do it

. While wandering the outskirts of the plains at night, he could see some thing moving about 500 meters away from him approaching at quite a fast speed, he could not distinguish what it was but it was quite big, of course, he prepared some traps while the thing was approaching.

-"450 meters..400 meters...350 meters...300 meters...250 meters..." Guillaume was still quite scared by the encounter, he had barely any combat experience and could only think of setting up traps and trying to avoid immediate battle as much as possible.

-"Damn! I think its getting even faster! It's already at 150 meters! Damn it!" Guillaume was even more scared, but the creature was approaching rapidly, he needed to think fast.

-"What the hell? This thing has.. wings!? Can it fly ?! Argh.. No time to think!" At this precise moment, the creature was preparing to get into the air, but Guillaume decided to cast upon it "Explosive Rain", a B-Class spell that makes astonishing amounts of rain in a certain zone fall and explodes everything in the spell range.

The creature was heavily injured, but somehow, managed to regenerate, of course, Guillaume seeing how the creature was able to regenerate instantly, was trying to think even faster, not realizing that the creature was only at 35 meters of him.

-"COME ON...COME ON...I NEED TO THINK! Huh..?"

SLASH! He looked to the ground, there, was his left arm, lying on the ground, the creature looked at Guillaume ,and, smiled. Then, Guillaume fainted, and woke up in a cave, upside down, it looks like he was healed and his arm grew back, but, of course, he was more worried of the creature of the night before, it looked like the creature had gone out and it was the day, he used "Water Slash" to cut the ropes which tied him up. He exited the cave and all around it was a village, supposedly ancient since it was in ruins but some house were still up at least.

After some time searching for an exit, Guillaume finally found one, but the creature was already coming back, he decided to hid in one of the houses and try to hide his mana as much as possible, the creature entered the village, it was absolutely hideous, a wolf head with horns of a bull , a human torso with wing and the lower body of a lion, it was a "Chimera", Guillaume was trembling with fear, who wouldn't?

After the creature already walked passed half of the village, Guillaume immediately ran for the exit and ran away as far as he could, he entered the purple plains, and immediately, he felt weakened, in a way almost similar to "Mana Poisoning", Jukost explained to Guillaume that "Mana Poisoning" was a very dangerous thing if your mana is overloaded or underloaded, of course he had it on the first day of training since he wasn't accustomed to mana but Jukost quickly healed him with "Goliscos High Risk High Reward", a 50/50 S-Class Spell which only works half the time, of course if you fail the spell you get a punishment, for exemple:

"Not Being Able To Heal For A Year" or even "Not Being Able To Speak For A Year" but if the spell is successful you can have any wish you want for the exception of growing stronger or to harm another person or a group of individuals, but now that Guillaume was alone and basically only learned one healing spell, he needed to get out of here as fast as possible.

After 10 minutes of running, he could hardly breathe and could barely use any mana to maintain is integrity, and after another 5 minutes he finally got out of the plains but he could barely maintain consciousness and fainted as soon as he walked out.

-"Argh.. Where the hell am I..?" Guillaume said as he woken up. He still could barely see.

-"It seems he is still in the effect of "Mana Decaying" Royal Doctor."

-"Hmm... Let's bring "Goliscos Gifted Healer" then, he should not be that far away."

-"Alright, I'll come back in around 30 minutes."

-"H-Hey.. W-Who are you..?" Guillaume said barely able to speak.

The Royal Doctor sighed.

"Please do not speak, you are barely hanging onto life and, for some reason, we need healing magic of S-Class to even make you feel better."

-"H-Huh..? W-What do you me-" Guillaume didn't even get to finish his phrase the he fainted again.

This time, Guillaume woke up in a carriage with 3 persons looking at him, he didn't even have a shirt on but one of the 3 persons was looking at his body thoroughly exanimating it with pure admiration, he had green eyes, long thin silver hair and a feminine face with pointy ears, of course, Guillaume immediately tried to get back up but couldn't even move, needles were inserted into his acupuncture points to prevent him from moving.

-"Hmm...Royal Doctor, it seems that this young man has an exceptional body, but, he was infected by a parasite which sucks his mana out and he need to get an enormous amount of care." The person exanimating him said.

-"W- COUGH! COUGH!" Guillaume was coughing up the blood infected by the parasite, he was in incomprehensible pain.

-"ARGH! ARGHHHH! AUUUURGH!" Guillaume screamed.

-"Please calm down young man. I cannot help you if you act like this." The person examinating him said.

-"Huh? Even after being in this much pain and having severe "Mana Decaying" he's still conscious? Absolutely marvelous. We should do some tests on him when we get back to the Royal Palace." Cheerfully said the person next to the Royal Doctor.

-"No, Lukhist. He is still a human, we can't do that unless he committed a crime." Insisted the Royal Doctor.

-"Honestly, Royal Doctor, the Elven Kingdom is more than willing to take this young man into custody, since Elves are well known for their healing capabilities and their magic abilities, I think we're more than capable for healing him, I would also like to determine what the parasite is and what caused it."

The Royal Doctor sighed.

-"Goliscos Gifted Healer, I think everyone here wants to investigate on this matter and do some research with the body of this person, but we need the approbation of the King and of this young man as well, Helkajoust is a free and welcoming country for any race."

-"Alright ,then, we'll ask the King himself when we arrive."

In the time being, the "Chimera" was filled with anger when it found out that Guillaume escaped. It had exceptional intellectual, magical and physical capabilities, it angrily destroyed everything it encountered, the forest? Burned. The plains? Destroyed. The villages? Annihilated. Elite soldiers were sent by the Duke ruling the land around the plains to kill it, the "Chimera" didn't even flinch to their attacks and destroyed every one of them.

Now, what would you think when a chimera who's practically invincible, which has destroyed ELITE SOLDIERS, was in your land and threatening it? Of course, you will try to find a way of killing it, but for the more quick witted ones, you'll immediately report it to the King, and that was exactly what the Duke Kloust did, he sent a letter to the King and reacted accordingly, focused on defense instead of attack, and erected massive magic walls to prevent the chimera from entering the castle walls.

By the time the carriage transporting Guillaume and the people which had saved him arrived at the Royal Palace, the messenger bird sent by the Duke Kloust also did, and the King seeing the message:

"My King, it seems that a "Dark Mage" has created a Chimera with immense power and that Chimera is destroying everything it encounters, villages...forests...and even The Plains were destroyed! Not to mention that the Elite Soldiers who were sent did not return, and instead, the chimera is currently trying to break through the castle walls, please, we need help ASAP."

-" Ah! My doctor and one of our elven allies, "Goliscos Gifted Healer" what a pleasure to meet you two again! Oh! And how can I forget Lukhist! You are always such a help for your master and I! So, whose that young man you bringed with you?" The King happily greeted.

-"You see, my King, this man was in direct contact with the "Mana Decaying Poison" released by an unknown individual in the Plains, and it was also discovered that the body of him also contain an undiscovered parasite, he also has an exceptional body which is very potent with mana and can be introduced with all types of mana." The Royal Doctor replied.

-"Ohoh! Well, first, we need to cu-"

-"Your Majesty! I propose something to you!" The Goliscos Gifted Healer hastily said to the King.

-"IMPERTINENT! HOW DARE YOU CUT OFF THE MAJESTY!" One of the guards yelled.

-"Guard. Let him speak."

-"Just now, we received a letter from the Duke Kloust, he is the one who rules the land around the Plains, the letter contained something very interesting, a "Chimera" was filled with rage and attacking everything it encountered, villages..forests.. and even the castle! Now, why did the chimera appear as soon as that man was rescued by the Royal Doctor?"

-"Is it possible that this man is related to this matter?" Replies Lukix.

-"Exactly, Lukix, so be careful with him, you may never know what may happens." Warns the King.

-"I'll listen to your words, Your Majesty." Answers Lukix

-"THE CASTLE WALLS AND THE MAGIC BARRIER FELL! RUN!"

-"HELP ME! ARGHHH!"

-"GODDAMNIT! HOW DID THE MAGIC BARRIER AND THE CASTLE WALLS FELL IN MERELY 5 HOURS!?"

-"I-I don't know my liege.."

-"WHEN WILL THE DAMN REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVE!"

-"I-In probably 2 more hours my liege.."

-"Argh.. I'm still an old man, I've got to calm down, alright, Lopist, command to the soldiers and mage to make the best defense they can, even if it's barbaric tactics or simply just guerilla warfare."

-"A-Alright, my liege."

1 hour later, almost half of the defensive forces were decimated, the chimera wasn't even in the slightest injured, nor was it phased by the defensive actions by the liege, it just kept on attacking.

-"Is it.. the end? after all of this.. the chimera is still completely unharmed and looks like it still has a lot of mana to go.." Says the Duke Kloust out of despair.

-"D-Do not worry my liege, reinforcement should soon arrive, in 1 hour p-precisely!"

The Duke Kloust sighed.

-"Will they be even able to scratch this thing? This monster? Who did the King even sent?"

-"MY LIEGE! WE JUST RECEIVED A LETTER! IT SAYS THAT THE KING SENT THE NUMBER 1, NUMBER 2, AND NUMBER 3 RANKS OF MAGES AND KNIGHTS!" Shouts one of the guards.

-"WHAT? WELL THEN! WE STILL HAVE SOME HOPES LEFT! I WILL GO DIRECTLY TO MY SOLDIERS AND TELL THEM THESE NEWS!"

Not long after, the soldiers were more ferocious with the news the Duke Kloust transferred.

The chimera laughed, and in an unnerving voice, said:

-"KAHAHAHAHAHAH! DO YOU REALLY THINK SOME MERE HUMANS WOULD BE ABLE TO LAY EVEN A SCRATCH ON ME? EVERYTIME I DEVOUR ONE OF YOU I GET STRONGER! I AM INVINCIBLE! NOW, RUN AWAY BEFORE YOU D.I.E!"

-"W-What? Is it true?" One of the soldiers said.

-"N-No way, it will certainly be killed by the reinforcement sent to us by the King.."

-"DO NOT TRUST THIS MONSTER! GET YOURSELF TOGETHER GODDAMNIT! OR ELSE YOU'LL REALLY DIE!" Yelled the Duke Kloust at his soldiers.

-"OHOH! Then let's see how long you'll hold out for Mr. D.U.K.E ! The chimera said.

45 minutes later, half of the the remaining soldiers were decimated and devoured, the chimera was getting stronger by the minute, no, by the second.

"SOLDIERS! ONLY 15 MINUTES TO GO! IT IS YOUR LAST HOPE FOR SURVIVAL! GIVE IT YOUR ALL!"

15 minutes later the reinforcements had arrived, only to find something truly horrible;

All the soldiers were dead, some were bitten in half, others had missing limbs, and, on the top of the wall, was there, the Duke Kloust, fighting the chimera, he had already lost his left arm and eye, the chimera was on the verge of killing him, but the chimera wasn't even a match for the Top 1 to 3 mages and knights and was cut in half the moment they saw it, the Duke Kloust was fully healed by one of the mages, while this was happening, the knights were fighting the chimera, they were basically toying with it, they had holy swords to prevent any demonic beasts from regenerating and also weakening the abilities of the beast, was the chimera always this weak?

No, it's just that the knights were this strong, of course, the mages were also buffing them and debuffing the chimera but it wouldn't even make a difference. they just had to watch. Duke Kloust was amazed by their performance, but in the process, he realized that he was weak.
