42 Chapter 42 Let Them Fight

After saying our farewell to Max we made our way to where we will be staying for the next few weeks a building we now call the X-Apartments.

Evan: "I still think it's a silly name I mean seriously the X-Apartments." the others chuckled thinking the same thing, the X-Apartments was what could be described as a hotel, dormitory, and a mansion all in one being seven stories with tall fully furnished rooms, kitchen, community room, dining hall, and entertainment room.

Kitty: "well I'm not complaining especially about all the new toys we get to play with," she said only loud enough for our group to hear

in a hidden wall were an elevator that lead down to a converted abandoned rail site and tracks into a miniature danger room, vehicle bay, and command center.

Evan: "Yeah think I'll take one of the X-cycles for a test drive" as they walked they were a few steps from the entrance of the apartment complex.

Scott: "Come guys remember why we're here in the first place we have a job to do and this isn't a vacation to just good off so remember. . ." he entered the passwords to unlock the door.

Evan/Kitty: "No using your powers" the groan as we enter only to find the tv on the kitchen cabinets open and three figures watching the tv who turned to see who entered.

Kurt: "Hey guys how was school" hurt the blue furball that could be mistaken for a stereotypical demon nightcrawler was sitting in the middle of the couch with a bag of chips.

Anna: "Hey guys" Anna Maria the Rogue sat at the far end of the couch not looking away from the tv

Jubilee: "Welcome back hope you don't mind us dropping by for a visit" jubilee sat next to Kurt with her yellow across her lap and pink sunglasses on her head with a sandwich and bottle of water.

Kitty: "Of course, we don't mind were all X-men and this place is for all of us to use" she realized behind her and gave a hug before joining her on the couch. and was soon joined by Evan who sat next to Kurt

Scott: "Anything going on back at the institute or a message from professor X" Scott who was obviously wanted to remark how this wasn't a vacation or something like that but calmed down as I put a hand on his shoulder. but he got multiple no's to his question so he went to the kitchen.

Anna: "Do anything interesting happen at school today"

"You mean besides the giant monster that cut the school day short" Anna nodded her head looking at the tv that's all these guys have been watching on the news "we'll we met some interesting people."

Kitty: "Yeah like turns out Harry Osborn goes to our school isn't that nuts." that supposed Jubilee and Rogue but Kurt looked confused

Kurt: "And who is Harry Osborn?" Kitty grabbed a magazine off of the table and shoved it into his face

Kitty: "Harry Osborn son of Norman Osborn one of the richest people on the planet." she pointed to a middle-aged man with short cut brown hair and green eyes with a wealthy-looking suit on.

Kurt: "Ok ok I get it his dad is ridiculously rich anything else interesting"

Evan: "We just so happen to share the same first period with the Max Draco" this surprised everyone especially Kurt who was about to open his mouth. "Yes we asked him many questions that I can tell you about later"

Kitty: "what I want to know is what our resident redhead found about him" but I shook my head

"I could tell you that most of the class is interested in you and me" that got kitty to smirk at Jubilee who just pushed her away" but Max I couldn't get anything from."

Anna: "What do you mean?"

"Well when we got into class I scanned the class to see if any were mutants or just suspicious but I found none until I tried to connect to Max's mind and I got nothing."

Scott: "Well what does this mean is he a robot or something" Scott came to the couch with a sandwich in hand sitting at the other end.

"No it was different robots you get nothing when you try and connect with their minds but when I tried to connect with Max is was more like he broke the connection" I let the information sink in before continuing, "So it could mean he's a mutant or it could just mean he has a strong mind and will power".

Evan: "so we ne-" Evan was interrupted by Kurt who grabbed the remote and shushed him while turning up the volume on the tv.

On the tv it was the image of a familiar woman her hair was a mess and her face had cuts and a large bruise on her cheek, she was standing in what looked like thick and messy grassland but on closer inspection, it was topped over trees all around, cars had been flipped and a dust cloud made the image fuzzy and the town could not bee seen, but people could be seen walking around gather what could be salvaged from the debris.

Kurt: "Well at least she's still alive and in one piece" he and Evan wind at her appearance but all could agree with the statement.

Newswomen: "Are we live?" a hand giving a thumbs-up could be seen "alright we can't hear you but you can hear us so after the creatures attack disconnect us the military continued its attack but failed to drive the creature away and ended up retreating the area setting up a perimeter around the town." as if on cue a group of soldiers was shown overlooking the town with binoculars "so far the greater has not been spotted but it is assumed that it has either left the area or is still in the town".

*Kaboom* a huge explosion cuts through the air and lights up the destroyed town hidden in the dust cloud as well. as the slowest of the giant bird standing in the ruins starting directly in the direction of the camera

Newswomen: "My God" she was visibly shaking all professionalism gone the military men nearby slowly backed away out of view one just ran. but then the creature turned as if something caught its attention and looked to a hill.

Evan: "Ah what's going on?" that was the million-dollar question.

Anna: "Hey do you guys hear that?" when she said that I didn't know what she was talking about but then I heard distant booms and it looked like everyone there heard it too as the camera began to pivot.

"is that the military?" I asked but got no answer which made me doubt it was right but then Kurt perked up and began to smile.

Kurt: "that's not the military think bigger" I wanted to ask what he meant but the booms got louder until the answer appeared on the screen.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*.....Grrrrrr...

there on the hill was Zilla it was a distance away from the camera but its body was barely fitting the screen as it stood over the hill over the military and over Quetzalcoatl who still stared at Zilla it's eyes not leaving him.

the two stood their in their staring contest the tension was so great you could cut it with a knife and it would bend but then it happen.
