13 Welcome To Happy Harbor

"I'll show you the true power of a Saber!" Artoria proclaimed as she got into a fighting stance. 

"Alright show me what you got," I said getting into my own stance. 

Currently, Artoria and I are facing off in the training area, ready to spar. Artoria was eager to showcase her skills as Saber. 

I was currently using a spear since Scathach felt I was getting rusty since I had been using my twin chained daggers as my go-to weapon 

I clenched my spear called upon my Lancer card and circled slowly, watching Artoria mirror my movements. Her boundless energy always made her quick to engage, but I knew better than to recklessly attack first. 

As expected, she lunged forward, her sword cutting a swift arc towards my shoulder. I deflected it neatly, using her momentum against her to push her back a step. We exchanged a flurry of strikes, staff and blade ringing out sharply. 

I jabbed out to keep her at length, but she adeptly spun inside my reach, raining down quick slashes. I gritted my teeth as I desperately parried, forced into a retreat. Sensing my weakness, she pressed the offensive, her strikes falling relentlessly. 

In a final decisive move, she swept my legs out from under me. I fell hard, her sword tip at my chest. 

We stared at each other for a moment before I tapped the mat conveying my surrender. She gave me a cheeky grin and stretched out her hand. Returning her smile I gripped her hand as I was quickly pulled up. 

"Good fight Artoria. Thanks for sparing with me." I said. 

"Well of course my goal is to become the strongest Saber and be useful to you after all." She said pumping her fist. 

"You don't have to worry about being useful to me. I'm just glad to have you as my partner." I said putting my hand on her head. Glad to have Artoria's enthusiasm on the team. It was a nice change of pace. 

"Geez don't pat my head. Just because I'm a little short..." She complained causing me to let out a laugh. 

"Don't laugh!" 

"Hahaha, cute." 

"W-Wha cute!?" 

Just as I was about to continue teasing her. I heard a beeping coming from my ear. Realizing it was the communicator in my ear that Batman had given to us for emergencies. With a quick press of the button, I heard Red Tornado's mechanical voice. 

"Legend this is Red Tornado. We've got a situation down at the Happy 

Harbor Bay. Your teammates are currently engaged in combat with an android. I recommend you head over to back them up as soon as you can." 

"Ok, I'll be there as soon as I can," I responded as went to suit up. It had been over a week since I had been recruited into the Team but we had yet to receive our first mission. Looks like the rising action's finally begun. 

"Let's go Artoria." 

"Roger." With that, we both headed to the nearest Zeta Tube. 

... 

Arriving in Happy Harbor I took in the sight before me the winds howled fiercely as three massive tornadoes bore down on the small town, ripping up trees and tearing roofs off houses as residents scrambled for cover. 

Moving faster than a bullet I appeared close to one of the tornadoes. Calling upon my knowledge of primordial runes, I focused my will and traced a glowing symbol in the air - Ansuz, the rune of authority and command. 

"Ansuz! I order you to cease!" I shouted, my voice resonating with magical force. 

I watched carefully as the first tornado began to slow, its violent rotation dissipating until it faded entirely, leaving only clear skies. 

Wasting no time, I quickly traced two more runic symbols - Raido, the rune of controlling motion, and Eihwaz, the rune of transformation and defense. Chanting words of power, I unleashed the spell. 

"Raido! Eihwaz!" 

My commands took hold and the second and third tornadoes shuddered, their spinning columns unraveling into wisps of wind until nothing remained. With that destruction of the town had ceased. 

Turning toward the one responsible for this destruction. I think its name was Mr. Twister. It looked like a more imposing version of Red Tornado. with a tattered brown scarf wrapped around its neck. it also had large turbine engines embedded in its forearms, which is what allowed it to manipulate powerful whirlwinds. 

Currently, It was soloing the four fledgling superheroes. It smashed a boat into Superboy then turned and threw a tornado at Aqualad which he dodged only to be sent flying into a nearby house. The others weren't doing so hot either. Kid Flash tried to attack next only to be chased away by a tornado. Robin tried to attack using his bombs but Mr. Twister deftly avoided them. 

"Eli, is that one of the supervillains you told us about?" She asked looking eager for a fight. 

"Yes, and just call me Legend when we are in the field." 

"Ok, can I fight it?" 

"Of course, for now, get into your spiritual form. And make sure you hold back. I don't want people to know your true strength." With a nod she quickly dematerialized. 

Appearing on the battlefield I was met with surprised looks from my teammates. 

"Legend? What are you doing here?" Robin asked as I made my way towards Mister Twister. 

"Red Tornado called, and said that you guys might need a little help," I said not taking my eyes off of the android. 

"Another child? what can you possibly accomplish?" Mr. Twister said as he hovered menacingly in the air, his arm turbines whirring as he prepared to attack. 

"Get ready, he's about to strike!" I shouted. On cue, Mr. Twister aimed his arms, firing a large tornado directly at us. 

"I'll blow you away!" he bellowed. 

I quickly traced a rune in the air - Algiz, for shielding. A glowing barrier formed around us, deflecting the tornado. Mr. Twister growled in frustration. 

I then called out to Artoria. "Saber it's your time to shine!" 

Seizing the opportunity, she quickly materialized in front of me dashing forward with unbelievable speed. She leaped high, raising her sword overhead. "Take this!" she yelled, slashing down powerfully. 

Mr. Twister crossed his arms, barely managing to block the sword. The clash sent him skidding backward. 

I hurled my chained daggers out, wrapping around Mr. Twister's legs. Pulling hard, I disrupted his balance and sent him toppling face-first into the dirt. 

Artoria darted in, to attack the temporarily immobilized villain. Her sword carved a series of glowing gashes across the android's armor. 

But she was forced to retreat when Mister Twister broke free of my chains with a burst of strength. Backpedaling quickly, I put away my daggers and summoned a spear but this wasn't just any spear. It was the Noble Phantasm Gáe Bolg Alternative after all that training I was able to wield it. 

"Let's finish this!" I shouted to my partner. Side by side, we charged at the android who decided to stop messing around and shot out a bolt of lightning in an attempt to stop our approach. 

I dashed forward with inhuman speed jumping into the air and thrusted my spear upwards and impaling Mr. Twister through the torso pinning him in the air. 

Pulling out my spear I yelled. "Saber Now!" 

Immediately she shot upwards like a rocket, her sword raised high. "Too slow... I'm SUPER fast!" She taunted and with graceful spins, she sliced off Mr. Twister's arms and legs in a series of silvery blurs. Deprived of his limbs it fell to the ground with a heavy thud. 

We stood over the dismembered android, flickers of electricity dancing across the pierced torso. Artoria looked at me with a huge smile. 

"Good job Saber," I praised placing a hand on her head. 

"Hehe, I was nothing I am the strongest Saber after all."
