22 Gift, Meeting Death

{A/N: I was going through the comments today and one reader says I'm incompetent and that I mock the work of other authors just because I said that this isn't a ff for readers who like edgy and smart mc's. Now I want to apologize to any of you who feel offended because I said that. Sorry.}

"Oh?I wonder what the creator is going to say after I rip your head off your shoulders."

Descending to the earth with a sword in hand and blazing eyes, Samael's stoic expression sent shivers down Adam's spine, as he unconsciously took a step back in fear.

"Wh-Who are you!"

Adam took steps back until he was backed up against a tree, while his heart shook as he peered into the eyes of the entity before him.

"Your gaze sits too high, I don't like it…Kneel!"

Like the booming of thunder, his voice resounded across the horizon, as an invisible energy forcefully grabbed onto Adam's body brought him to his knees, nearly shattering his bones.

"This is where your eye meets mine."

Samael spoke, while his golden irises turned pure red, while he pointed his sword towards Adam, who was completely terrified seeing his beastly red eyes that seemed to glare into his soul.

"My Lord, please forgive my husband! He acknowledges his wrongs!"

Lilith immediately rushed to Adam's side and knelt beside him, bowing with her head to the ground and pleading with tears.

Watching her intently, even Samael couldn't help but feel a tug in the strings of his heart, as his irises turned back to their natural state.

He lowered his sword and took one last look at her before he turned around and started walking away.

Alan sighed and reassured Lilith with a smile, before he chased after Samael.

"Hey buddy, are you okay?"

Alan placed his hand on Samael's shoulder and asked as they walked out of the garden.

"I'm fine. Just some Daddy issues if you will."

Samael gave a small smile and then walked to sit on a large rock before a waterfall.

"You know, you can tell me anything right? I'll do my best to offer the best advice I can."

Alan hit his chest proudly, while Samael smirked and shook his head.

"It is better if you don't know Alan. I don't want to drag you into all of this. "

Samael shook his head, knowing fully well that Alan's existence alone was enough to warrant the wrath of the Heavens. An anomaly like him could threaten the delicate balance of the cosmos. However, Alan was his friend and he was going to protect him even if it meant going against his own father.

This was a confrontation he could not back down from — his pride would not let him do so.

"Enough of that, I brought you a gift."

Samael smiled and waved his hand, summoning a short blade into his hand.

"Oh come on, you didn't need to— woah.."

Alan wanted to act snug at first, but his jaw dropped upon seeing the gift.

The blade resembled a short katana, with a golden handle and a hexagonal crystalline guard that was made from dozens of precious stones.

*DONG!*

He held it within his hands, as the weight sunk him down, but he soon adapted to it after wheel spun and began holding it in just a hand.

"Woah.."

He unsheathed it, revealing a slanted blade like an ordinary katana, that looked like it was forged from a mix of diamonds and precious metals.

"Be careful with that, I forged it from the same element as Azrael's, mine and my brother Michael's blade.

"Sweet."

Holding the blade with a joyful expression, Alan merely slashed out, and in the next moment, a phenomenon occurred that made him almost jump in joy.

The space at where he had slashed out was instantly cut bisected, revealing the deep dark void underneath.

"You know what buddy, you might've just elevated yourself to the position of best friend!"

Alan nearly jumped to hug Samael who took a step back in disgust.

"The blade is enchanted as well, with the ability to channel life or death energy, the ability to cut through the myriad of creation and can return to its owner when called upon."

As Samael finished his words, Alan quickly hurled the sword into the distance and then closed his eyes.

A blinding light suddenly shot from the horizon, tearing through the layers of space like a spear, but only stopped a few meters before Alan's forehead.

"Also, you should be able to reproduce the effect of its slashes without having to summon the blade at all when you get acquainted with it. As for to what extent, I have no idea."

Samael spoke once more, as Alan's eyes seemed to glow in a frenzy.

"Okay, I have some matters to attend to, I'll see you later."

The archangel unfurled his wings and disappeared in a stream of golden light, leaving Alan alone with his new toy to play with.

The moment Samael left, Alan sheathed the blade with a smile and then turned towards the space which he had cleaved into two.

"Aren't you going to come out?"

His brows furrowed in wonder and the next moment, a beautiful figure walked out of the folds of space with a frown on her face.

"Who are you? And why are you spying on me?"

He unsheathed his blade and pointed it towards the beautiful pale skinned woman dressed in a morden fashion, with long dark hair.

"You relationship with Lord Samael is deeper than I thought, how troublesome."

She placed her hand on her chin and thought while Alan descended into deep thought wondering her identity.

"How didn't Samael notice you from before?" He asked once more as the lady raised a brow and then smiled.

"We the Endless are protected by the power of the Saint Michael, hence unless he really intends to find me, Lord Samael can't see me by conventional means."

She spoke, and Alan's grip on his blade tightened.

'The Endless? Seven Gods of the DC world? Shit!'

Although he tried to remain stoic, he cursed out in his mind, while his expression faltered.

"Seeing your reaction, I'm guessing you know me?"

She walked towards Alan until they stood only a few inches away from each other and smirked.

"What do you want?"

Alan materialised a stream of life energy while his eyes blazed with power.

"What do I want? Nothing. I am merely interested in you, Alan."

She spoke, and Alan couldn't help but curse his luck in his mind.
