25 Magic Aye?

The hell is this kid?

He barely seems fifteen, but he swallowed that massive flame like it was nothing?

"You are interesting," he said, staring at me. "What is your name?"

Meanwhile, Zatanna was staring at me like I was an alien.

"What… was that?" she asked. "You can use magic?"

Well, I wouldn't call it magic…

"I guess we have other worries at the moment," I said, realizing that I will need to explain a lot later.

But that was for later.

"You can use magic, right?" I asked her.

"I do," she answered.

"Great, 'cause that kid seems like trouble."

This made the boy with horn-shaped hair raise an eyebrow, seemingly intrigued by my words.

"While I do prefer not to be called a kid, I am more interested in your identity," he said. "What's your name, redhead?"

"I do not prefer talking to kids either," I said. "But I go by Jasper Hughes."

"Jasper, you are brave," he said, descending towards the fiery pit. "But the brave are often fools."

As he said that, the flame around us exploded into bigger, hotter, and more wildly spreading ones.

"Do you know why?" he asked, and I was aware of the answer.

"Oh, I can promise you it's not my hero complex, but simply my confidence," I assured. "But it looks like we might just have to watch what I am capable of."

And I wasted no time before enchanting the air around me to have the property of speeding bullets, causing it to shoot at him at lightning speed.

This surprised him as he had to move back a little, before flicking his wrist to form a purple mist around him which solidified to block the shots.

"First fire, now air, huh?" he grinned. "Elemental magic? That's a rare one."

"Dang, he is strong."

Hearing me mutter that, Zatanna agreed.

"He is strong," she frowned. "He is one of the strongest magicians you can go against."

"Since you showed me elemental magic, let me show you the same as well."

And as he said that, I saw the ground around us cracking open before sprouting dozens of spikes from it.

I had no other choice but to immediately enchant the ground to make it as soft as slime, preventing us from getting hurt by the spikes.

Taking this opportunity, Zatanna cast her spell.

"Noitativel!"

And with the spell, the two of us started to float – more specifically, levitate.

That gave me an idea, a way to use my enchantment better.

"Ugh!"

And as I used my enchantment, Klarion noticed the effect immediately.

The air around him grew heavy, causing his entire body to be weighed down as well.

It wasn't the strongest application of my skill, but definitely a great way to slow him down.

"Do you have anything to get him the fuck out of here!" I asked Zatanna, increasing the pressure to inhuman levels.

"I'll need time for that!" she said, summoning multiple cards around her that shot at Klarion.

The boy tanked those attacks like nothing, and even the cuts he got healed instantly.

"That… is a strong spell!" Klarion grinned. "Quite good! I like it!"

But him liking it did not equal to him staying under it.

His entire body grew purple as he flicked off the pressure like it was nothing.

The pressure was still there, which means he had strengthened his body to be able to handle that pressure.

"Magic is phenomenal, isn't it!" he laughed, quite the maniacal laughter. "Those heroes and villains that depend on science can never understand the magnificence of magic!"

The fuck is his deal? He is causing mayhem for a parcel when the fault was that old fuck's to begin with?

Even I wasn't this unreasonable when I faced Scarecrow!

"How long!" I looked at Zatanna.

"A little bit more!" she said, trying to forge a spell to get that little psycho out of here.

I am certain that my current abilities are not strong enough to defeat this kid in a one-on-one battle. If anything, it is surprising that I have been able to handle him so far.

He hasn't been taking this very seriously; otherwise, this would have been over way earlier.

And while my ability is broken, it is still limited because of the rules that were there.

And till now, I have no clue how to break through them.

He turned to look at the purple fog swirling around him. "You want to test them too, Teekl?"

What is he up to?

And as I kept wondering, I saw the fog turning into a cat.

"Be careful," Zatanna warned. "That's not a normal cat, that's his familiar!"

Shit.

I figured it out just as soon as the cat landed.

The moment it kept its feet on the ground, it started growing at an astounding rate. Within seconds, it was the size of a mini truck, with teeth and fangs sharp enough to gnash out even steel.

It didn't waste a second and pounced at us.

Thankfully, despite it being magically enhanced, it wasn't a magician.

I immediately molded the ground below me to be able to form structures, and with that, I erected a massive wall right in front.

Changing the property of the wall to that of carbon steel, I readied my attack.

"Here you go, you little fuck!"

Creating a small swirling ball of wind in my palm, I plunged it right into his gut. Thanks to my enhanced durability, the explosion from that sent the cat many feet away, while my hand suffered no damage.

"It's ready!" Zatanna yelled as a portal opened right in front of us. "Jasper, move!"

The portal shot forward, straight towards Klarion.

However, to my absolute surprise, the boy had an expression that I would have never expected someone who was so eager to fight to have.

"I guess that is enough retribution for a lost parcel."

He didn't resist; he did not try to stop the portal.

He simply let it consume him and his cat.

"But Jasper Hughes, I will remember you," he grinned. "I hope you grow stronger because our next meeting will not be this peaceful."

The portal swallowed him, and slowly started to close.

He looked at Zatanna one last time. "You lived, Zatanna. Only for you showing me someone interesting."

And with the last second he had, he said, "At least you are better than your father."

"BASTARD!"

But the anger was pointless, as with that statement, he vanished alongside his pet.

Leaving a very confused me and a furious Zatanna behind.

But it's not the end, is it?

Inside the dark depths of a gruesome dimension, a man sat watching the entire scene, all while smoking a blunt.

"Well, that's not good," he mused, well aware that the boy who declared his return wasn't going to be easy to deal with.

"Do you think that the Light is up to it again?"

He asked. The group that Klarion was in charge of was probably one of the most annoying magical associations out there.

"That is not for you to worry about, Constantine. You still have time before you can be a free man again."

The authoritative voice made Constantine sigh. "Why are you so serious all the time? You have imprisoned me here for… I don't even know how long, Fate."

"Our duty as the protectors and the watchers does not require us to have a cheerful personality," Fate answered, which made Constantine shake his head.

"Makes those responsibilities a little bearable," Constantine said, taking a deep puff. "You should know, you have been doing that for time immemorial."

"I have," Fate answered. "But being cheerful does not mean you are happy. You… are a perfect example of that, Constantine."

"Touché, Fate… Touché."

"But Klarion will be an issue," Fate acknowledged. "As a lord of chaos, he will threaten the order of Earth… and that is not something we can afford."

"So, you are ready to let me go?" Constantine smiled. "I am what you need against Klarion. Considering you cannot intervene directly, unlike me."

"No," Dr. Fate declined immediately. "You will remain here, in the prison for longer."

"Oh, come on, man!"

But Fate wasn't going to listen. "You might be skilled, but Earth doesn't lack magicians."

"Like who?" Constantine asked. "Shazam? He might have the wisdom of Solomon, but he is fourteen. Zatanna? She still has to discover the truth about her magical roots. Circe? She will aid Klarion if possible. So, who is left?"

But unknown to Constantine, Fate was looking at the very new addition to the magical world.

And once Constantine noticed, his eyes went wide.

"That kid?" he yelled. "We don't even know what his deal is. And his ability doesn't even feel like magic. You want to trust a kid that recently surfaced compared to me?"

Fate didn't answer, because in his mind, there was something else that was going on.

"His fate… does not align with the Fate and Destiny of this world."

"What does that mean?" Constantine asked.

"I wonder the same, John. I wonder the same."

Klarion is a threat that will appear later, for now he just came to make a tiny appearance –hence why he vanished so early.

And if he would have actually fought, MC would be dead by now.

Magic is a good element to face enchantment, so Jasper has to figure out something if he wants to go against beings like Klarion or Fate
