A Single Enchanter Against Multiple Heroes (2/3)

Batgirl immediately rushed to her father, all while whispering a soft 'thank you' to me on the way. She seemed grateful that I fulfilled her request of saving her father.

Something that was not too difficult to do.

"I truly thought you would have learnt your lesson from our previous clash, Arrow" I said, staring at the hero who just doesn't seem to learn.

But then again, there was another, "And I believe I warned you before, Nightwing… That the next time you come to fight me, there will be no mercy."

Nightwing disappointed me by standing against me, however he was just another hero following orders.

There wasn't much he could do.

"It is not something that I wished for, Jasper." He sounded just as disappointed as me, "But you left me with no choice."

Batgirl took her father to safety, which meant I was left with five heroes to face against.

And one of them was surprisingly feisty.

Rushing straight at me with what seemed like a mace, she swung with a strength that was not humanly possible.

"I believe I have not seen you before," I said as I swiftly dodged her attack –followed by the arrow that shot at me.

"You have no right to ask for my name."

She was feisty, that's for sure.

Not that I even asked for her name.

But the attacks were not so simple, as another arrow shot towards me.

Green Arrow was persistent and maybe that was what kept him alive so far.

And as I grabbed the arrow with ease, the hero in green grinned.

"That was a mistake my guy!" He sounded happy, and it made sense.

The moment he said that, the arrow head exploded as a gas emitted from inside of it.

A sort of sleeping gas, I assumed.

"Clever," I said as I casually inhaled the gas, "But not enough."

Even with the mask covering his face, I could see the utter shock in his eyes. His lips moved in a way that spelled 'How.'

But I was in no mood to quench his curiosity.

"You left me with no choice." Superman said, before rushing at me with a straight punch.

No distraction, no fancy move but a straight punch.

And he definitely didn't need it to be fancy.

"Ugh!"

"Jasper!"

The straight single punch was able to deal much greater damage to me than any of the other heroes combined.

The punch managed to hurt me a little as while the punch didn't connect thanks to the multiple barriers I contoured between us; the impact still did hurt.

The two girls seemed worried but I gave them a quick assurance before tanking another punch from the hero; again leaving me with a little bit of pain.

Taking advantage of this, I saw multiple arrows being shot at me, all while a damned grappling hook and a staff flew towards my leg.

Batman and Nightwing had synergized their attacks well with the archer's arrows -which left me with no choice other than to freeze the area encircling me and Superman, which obviously wasn't enough to stop the kryptonian as he kept pounding the barriers with his unfathomable strength.

"Why did you have to go down this path?" The superhero sounded disappointed, "You could have used your gift to save countless without killing anyone."

He continued as I ran through countless possible ways to stop his punches, "Why go down a path that not only ruins your life but that of others as well."

Getting the idea of giving the barriers the property of Non-Newtonian substance, I was able to quickly reduce the impact pressure.

The substance was great at absorbing impact as while it was soft, it was able to distribute the impact with ease.

Or well, more like under quick blunt forces, it acted like a very durable solid.

"You are young and have a great gift," He said, increasing the strength of his punches further, "But you are on the wrong path."

Thanks to the enchantment, even his increase in strength didn't hurt much.

"What is your definition of a wrong path?" I asked, not liking the fact that he was looking down on me, "Letting psychopaths, rapists and murderers run free?" I enchanted my speed even further, "Letting your hard work burn down all while forgiving the one responsible? Or following principles that were set by those that are enjoying the rich life with a Z level security?"

I was a hypocrite, but the heroes were even bigger hypocrites than me.

"So is taking a life that has equal value as any other ethical?" Superman countered as he tried freezing my legs with his breath -which I was able to prevent with ease.

"Equal value?" That made me laugh, "You truly believe that crap? The psychopath that killed and tortured innocents has the same value as people that live to keep others safe? Same value as those that work day and night so that an unprivileged has the things they need to survive?"

The ice layer that I formed to keep us enclosed cracked open, revealing Hawkgirl with her mace.

"Lives are sacred," Superman said as he joined his fingers together to launch a single strong attack, "And justice is not yours to decide."

He launched it at me, and thankfully I was able to somehow stop it by dodging.

"There is a law system for a reason," Superman explained, "So that there is order and situations don't arise when an innocent has to get involved or take matters into their own hands."

Hawkgirl threw her mace towards me, which was a mistake as I was able to form a lard of titanium around it -trapping it inside.

I would have disintegrated it, but I had never been in contact with that element before.

Same went for superman, I wasn't able to get kryptonite -hence this annoying situation.

Finally, I saw Batman involving himself in the fight as he came at me with a jab from the side.

Again, I was left with no choice but to turn Green Arrow's bow to dust while dodging the two other heroes' punches.

It was too annoying to deal with close and long distances together after all.

"Killing the Joker isn't about just the law," Batman chimed in, "It is about showing that you are not afraid of going against the law or killing a person -which makes you a threat to everyone."

This…

He took out a staff which he swung at me, all while I saw Hawkgirl trying to extract her mace.

"You killed Joker, almost killed Zsasz and I am now certain it was you responsible for Scarecrow's death," He said, "So where will you stop? When you have killed every villain? When you kill everyone that doesn't agree with your views… or when an innocent loses their life in the process."

This was definitely getting annoying. I was losing any and all hope I had for the heroes.

"You heroes have disappointed me more than I thought was possible."

They truly left me with no choice.

With their views, their ideals… Villains like Joker would never stop.

That was why Gotham was never going to be crime free.

And that was exactly why the heroes would never be able to stop crimes from happening.

Batman's name did send a message, a message to everyone -be it the innocent civilians or the villains.

Yet that message was never going to be enough to stop any villain.

After all…

"You heroes should have never been given such authority."

And now I would make sure that they won't have any authority left.

Sorry for the delay.

Now the thing is, yes MC isn't morally correct either. There exists a law system so that there isn't anarchy, there isn't chaos or a purge movie situation everywhere. But since he lived the underworld life where he saw nothing but corruption, he has a fixed view on the justice system -one which seems inefficient.

As for heroes, they are heroes because they have morals. Justice and law is important to them; hence this is more of a clash of views than anything else.

Which may or may not be right depending on the person. Some would side with the view of the heroes, some with MC and some in the middle.

Which is natural.]]
