10 Chap 9: Normal news in crazy world

In those two somethings week i kept myself busy, still visiting several places collecting knowledge and flying around, i went to some of Abra kadabra's hideouts, took some of his tech apart, study it, configure it or change it.

I found some storage device he had so i modified it a bit and kept all the stuff and parts i needed inside it and used what i don't to mess around a bit and left a suprise in case he came here as i don't doubt he will be able to escape or someone will just get him out.

They really should make some special prison hidden somewhere.

I met with Serly from time to time and told her about some of my ideas, she always get extra excited when talking about tech and she told me about some stuff she's working on.

I obviously met with the team and talked to them several time, we trained some times too or watched them train with Canary i even had a spar with her couple of times for the Team educational purpose and not because she got exited and doesn't want to accept that she can't win.

They went on simple missions received an advice here and there, a beating now and then and they talked to me about some stuff mostly Megan, i even witnessed that moment when she and Superboy where about to kiss but became like robots afterward i just left a laugh maybe loud enough for them to hear and turned around.

The incident with Kaldur's adventure in Atlantis also happened, i didn't say anything to him and left the talk to Batman and after he came back i just simled at him and told him welcome back and left.

Yeah it's been going good especially after the Bialya's mission something definitely changed and they got much closer, and Superboy got his own new vehicle aka super-Cycle. Man i want my own super advanced alien mode of transportation not that i need one for travel, i already have a teleportation device from Abra's tech but it's just cool to have.

I really am thinking about paying Lex or queen Bee a visit to 'exchange' some thoughts about their new shipments and if they will be kind to 'gift' me something.

'Patience patience' i repeated the mantra and banished any thoughts that might cause some disturbance to my current peaceful life in the future.

I would have liked to go and beat Psimon psychic ass myself and see how my control and mind will fair against his, and just to remove that annoying smile from his face.

But it was something the team needed to grow so i left it at that. There will be lot of opportunities in the future.

You know i figured something, now i understand why most fanfic MCs like to fight or do something dangerous one might find stupid just so they can test themselves. Because when you are strong and have the chance to use it and even grow stronger from the experience then it won't really matter if it's dangerous anymore, only the thrill stay.

But i am glad the timeline is working the same and not lot of changes are happening, don't get me wrong i know just my existence itself did and will change things and the signs are there, the butterfly effects are already in motion and i noticed some of those changes.

I know that i was trying to see if my interference will cause anything but that just to test my theory it's better for me if the canon events happened the same or stayed under my control but i know it won't happen and soon everything will start to change and the plot will go to hell, mah i already planned to change it anyway i never really relied on my knowledge i just used what i can to reap the best benefits i can.

Now i'm in Serly's apartment watching the news about Taipei.

Since the light don't have a mole on the inside anymore well not the one i am aware of anyway, they didn't orcstrate the attack on Luther but they did it on the south and north presidents of Rhelasia and made it look like it's on all of them and since there was no foreknowledge about any interference Cheshire was not sent to do the job but a basic assassin with order to fail which allowed Luther to present his technology a.k.a his assistant Mercy which in turn impressed both country leaders and made peace, how romantic.

I'm sure if someone from the team has interfered they would have gone with the original plan and succeeded all the same so i didn't see any reason for me to do anything, i don't know how much damage or loss was caused i just watched some fireworks, how everything worked out in the end, they signed peace and that's it.

I don't want to sound like i am some cruel person but i said it before i am not a hero, if the consequences of my actions are severe then i would handle them like with Serly here plus the chance to disrupt the Light plans make for a good hobby that i found fun in, but this ploy is just not worth it.

Good thing the team didn't have time to do anything because of time dilation, the only one free was Aqualad and they won't send him alone, and even if they asked me i won't go, and since he didn't get a tip on it nor was anyone there, that happened. I'm sure Batman should have figured it out by now and pieced stuff together.

"Shouldn't the league have sent someone to help or something ?" asked Serly from beside me while hugging my arm and laying her head on my shoulder.

"It's a political issue dealing with two separate countries and any mistake could cause war so they can't just interfere however they want and send someone"

"But wouldn't they send the young team then to make sure everything will be alright, like they did that mission with me or is it too much for them?"

"It's because time dilation actualy, most of them have schools and only me and someone else is around so they can't send him alone"

"Why wouldn't they send you?" she asked with confusion.

"Because like i told you my dear Serly, i am not a hero and even if they forced me i wouldnt go"

"But why? a lot of people got hurt and you could have easily solved it. Do you have a thing against being a hero or something, but then why did you save me?" she asked her confusion growing by the second so i explained.

"People are always gonna get hurt Serly, and a lot of people on this planet might die not even knowing how they died just because some psychopath decided so. If i need to fly over the world every time someone got hurt then i will start blaming myself for not helping more and the people would blame me for not helping them too. Being a Hero is a penniless and thankless job, i prefer to do something i like instead. And your case and this one is different." 'Like i will turn into one of those idiots who blame themselves for something they couldn't control'.

"Hmm... i never thought about it this way, you're right i remember how i lashed at you at that moment and acted all sarcastic even thought you came to help me, what is the difference by the way?" she smiled and hugged me tighter remembering that time and how i saved her and took her machine with her too.

I laughed a bit and said:" yep you were sassy from that moment on" wich earned me an elbow from her where i laughed more" but the difference is that this one here is a ploy, it's all an act." this made her stunned and equally shocked.

"What do you mean an act?"

"For example see that assassin? What kind of a professional assasin would he be if he just exposed himself like that and started firing randomly without hitting anyone and just causing damage here and there, an assasin should be silent go in do the job and go out without getting discovered. This one just causing panic and fear.

If his boss sent him on a mission and saw him acting like this he will go there personally and kill him himself just so he won't shame his reputation. And see how Luther is calm all the time and how it was dealt with easily and directly after that they signed the peace paper like it was nothing!" she thought for a bit remembering what she just watched and then nodded and said:

"Do you mean Luther paid them to do this, but what will he gain from it beside PR ? It's not like he needed it."

"Well maybe, or maybe they worked together for some ulterior motive, but what Luther definitely got is to impress a new emerging country with his tech, imagine how they'll need to work on their military and defenses now that they are one who is gonna be their first to go guy or company to buy from?"

Serling's eyes almost popped out of her head after the realization settled in and she then said "definitly Luthor"

"And here you got it, it would have been nice if they have gotten Luther actually."

"Well i understand it a bit better now but do you hate him? Even if i don't see anything wrong with what you said" She asked me after clarifying herself.

"Mah, hate is a big word, i don't hate him nor like him i just believe the world will be less troublesome in the future without him around that all there is to it" she just nodded in return.

We just sat in silence for a while still watching till she said" oh you didn't tell me what about me, don't tell me you fell in love from the first sight and kept asking about me till you figured out about me being kidnapped" this cheeky smile of her really deserve a kiss. Her imagination is beyond me.

"Hah don't get full of yourself woman, you know i came to talk to you about nanotech and when you said you are working on an important project i just left you alone so you can finish it, and after a while i was there and thought you should be done so decided to talk to you again but then i was told your were missing for couples of days and it's so weird of you because you are a workaholic and married to your job, so knowing the world we are living in and me being the capable person i am, i investigated a little and found out were you are and just saved you because i can." I said with my own cheeky smirk while i flickered her nose.

She pouted at me and said" Hmph how mean i knew you were a villain you just wanted me to yourself."

"Yeah yeah those pretty blue eyes of yours just drowned me in the moment i layed my eyes on them and i decided to kidnap you but was a step too late" i just roled my eyes at her then just smirked more. She just giggled and then climbed on my lap and sat facing me and said" oh yeah Mr.Villain what are you gonna do to me now that i am at your mercy"

"What will i not do to you, maybe start punishing you for the cheeky attitude?" After that we got into some fiery kissing session that developed to me lifting her while she crossed her legs behind my back and we kept at it all the way to the bedroom.

Did you know that she is a wild one? Well she's only 22-23 and studied and worked hard all her life so figure she wants to let loose once in a while.

Lucky me.

"Hey Zane how have you been?" asked Dinah after she noticed me coming in. She and the team are gathered around, training on their combat.

"Hey Canary, sup guys i've been well how about you, how's the training going? Is Wally still annoying?"

"HEY"

"Hehe, i'm fine and the training is going well, you could notice the difference already" giggled Dinah a bit and looked around and nodded in satisfaction.

"Is that so, well good to hear maybe i should see for myself later" i said with a smirk and saw how everyone looked around with a strained smile on their face.

"Ehm, no, no it's going fine we don't want to trouble you" smiled Robin and said, i can see some cold sweet trickling there and it's not from the training.

"Yeah big guy, don't concern yourself with us it's all good" said Artemis adding her bit and pieces.

"I see... and here i thought you liked it what a shame" i said while shaking my head in fake regret.

"Oh, how was your date by the way Zane" asked Dinah with a teasing smile trying to embarrass me and bring the attention back to herself wich she succeeded in as the second they heard the word 'date' everyone's neck almost snapped in her direction. Hah keep trying.

"It went well, too well actually and thanks again for the advice it helped" i acted clueless to her attempts and just answered normally.

"Woah woah wait a minute did you say Zane went on a date, when? how?" asked Wally overwhelmed with what he heard.

"Yeah why found it weird? And what do you mean how, can i not go on dates?" I raised an eyebrow at Wally's behavior and just smirked at him, i can see the jealousy oozing out of him slowly, haha he's really a fun guy.

"What, No i mean no no you can go and date yeah that's totally normal i was just suprised, yeah suprised that's all" answered Wally anxiously seeing all the gaze on him trying to hide his embarrassment.

Everyone ignored him later and flocked around me mainly the girls and started asking questions and stuff, Megan being the most persistent and bombarded me with questions and Artemis joining a bit.

"Come on Zane who is she? Do we know her? How did you meet? How she's like?..."

"Slowly Megan, one at a time let him answer, but she's right big guy spill it, i thought i had a chance, you just threw me out the bus just like that you should take responsibility" Artemis, this girl. I can see Wally's ears perk while she's speaking. Heh.

"Alright alright, that's enough for now she's already a handful don't need teenage girls now, go to Canary, let here handle the mess she created." i sent a 'see what you did' look at Dinah who just grinned at me enjoying my misery, she's a stubborn vengeful women i tell you, she just can't let go of the fact that she can't beat me in a fight.

With that done i went my way and before disappearing i left a word" good luck in the future boys, you'll need it." i can feel some confusion coming out of them and the women there just giggled a bit.

Fun facts about people here, especially those who are... 'named characters' so to say they are more beautiful or just attractive, you don't see it much on screen but in reality if you compare them to the rest of the people walking on streets or just the general non important people they kinda stand out.

For example look at Robin and Artemis, what kinda underage teenagers have this kind of bodies and muscles, even if they have been under all kind of training since young age and all, it's just not normal they don't have body fat, their skin is so clean and their faces hold not a single sign of difformity, not a single pickle for their age.

Even the older ones, hell Lex looks better than most ordinary people with his shiny head, even Serling although she's not a world beaty but her looks and body are better than those normal woman you see everywhere, you get what i mean. What a dilemma!
