7 Family lunch

"Wait, you're going to tell me that only 1 beat everyone, and he wasn't the strongest, so who are the strongest?" Wally said, surprised and incredulous.

"That's a secret that I still can't tell because it runs in the family," I said calmly, while Conner raised an eyebrow, and Robin looked at me quite intrigued, with Aqualad nodding.

"Kid Flash, now what do we do, scout the base while we wait?" Wally said.

"Yes, let's see what great things they've prepared," Robin said, quickly disappearing.

"Do you do that often?" I said, listening to the laughter, to which Aqualad nodded.

"Quite a lot, but you get used to it after a dozen times of talking into the air when it disappears," Aqualad said, with Kid Flash speeding around, checking the place, and coming back with arms full of food.

"The kitchen is superb, it's full of delicious food," he said after coming back and talking with his mouth full of pizza.

So we continued to review Mount Justice; it was full of interesting things, and there were rooms for several members if they needed them. Then we arrived at the Gym where there were several exercise machines; we met several members of the league who finished assembling the machines all over the place. Mount Justice had been left unused for a while, so in a couple of hours, we had finished touring the entire base; it was quite large and equipped.

Then we went back to all the mentors, and they gave us our assignments; in the end, I was assigned B06 Archangel.

"Well, someone has a plan. Kid Flash ate all the food in the base during the tour," I said to the others.

"Don't count on me, I have to go to Gotham City for Batman reasons," Robin said, appearing next to Aqualad.

"I will return to Atlantis with my King to prepare things," Aqualad said, shaking his head.

"Just like me, my mother will kill me if I'm late, and today she prepares my favorite food," Wally said, which surprised us because he ate almost the entire base cupboard and was still hungry.

"Well, Megan, do you have any plans?" I said, looking at her.

"None for me. I wasn't going to stay in Mount Justice since my uncle usually stays in the watchtower," she said, looking at us.

"Great then, why don't the three of us go to my house and prepare something to eat," I said, knowing that Wally finished all the food.

"Great idea, I'll go ask my uncle's permission," Megan said, going to look for him through the walls, while we walked to the teleport area. Then Megan caught up with us, who was happy to be able to go to a friend's house.

"Okay, I have Uncle J'onn's permission," Megan said happily, as it was the first time she had been invited to a place.

"Perfect, one more thing, M'gann M'orzz is invited to my home," I said, with her looking at me strangely.

"Divine Protections, if you appear inside, you would fly through the air. It's my grandfather's thing," I said while we were transported to my home, rather to the entrance of the garden where my grandfather had put a miniaturized boom tube camouflaged according to Batman, who wanted to study it.

Upon arrival, Megan was impressed by the garden full of trees with various fruits and shrubs with various exotic fruits, as well as an organic garden.

"This is your house? It seems much bigger than a common human house," Megan said, surprised, floating.

"Ah, my grandfather twisted the space inside the barrier, thus creating this place," I said, going to the door to open it.

When the three of us walked through the door, we saw two people sitting comfortably in armchairs watching television.

"Grandpa, Aunt Azrael, what are you doing on Earth?" I said, surprised to see them watching cartoons.

"Now I can't visit my grandson and his friends once?" God said, hugging me tightly.

"Grandpa, you're too tight," I said, laughing, while Aunt Azrael laughed and Megan and Conner were surprised to see them.

"Wait, if this is your grandfather, that means he is God," Conner said, looking at a very friendly older man with dark teas.

"Ah, Conner Kent and M'gann M'orzz, yes, I am Ethan's Grandfather and God, creator of all the Universes," my grandfather said with a laugh, and the whole room changed into a great starry galaxy with his words.

"Grandpa, you transported us to outer space. You know you just should have done something simpler. I don't know how to create something out of nothing, but seriously space and you said Universes," I said, making Megan and Conner look around in surprise.

"Ah, it may be, but sometimes you have to enjoy being God or not," he said, laughing and returning to Earth.

"Okay, since you're here, take my freshly squeezed fruit juice, and let's eat and prepare the food," my grandfather said playfully.

"Seriously, sometimes I hate your Omniscience. It ruins surprises. I could never give you a birthday present without you knowing," I snorted as I drank a glass of juice that floated just like Megan and Conner, who looked stunned by my interaction with God, and both drinking the juice in one gulp because of how good it was.

"For that, I did not need my Omniscience. You are the only one of all who gave me a gift every year, also on Father's Day. Besides, Da Vinci boasted of your efforts to paint a picture of the whole family," God said, laughing happily.

"I do remember that Uncle Miguel and Amenadiel got upset about the gift, saying that if it wasn't perfect, I shouldn't give it to you," I said, joking.

To which God sighed, shaking his head, "Yes, well, your Uncles take some things too freely, and they don't enjoy it. I still have it hanging behind the silver throne," he said, remembering the event.

"By the way, are you prepared to eat? It smells like roasted meat and vegetables," I said, smelling the aroma of the food.

"My famous Heavenly Stewed Venison and Sautéed Vegetables will be here in a few minutes. In the meantime, I think your friends have some questions," my grandfather said, looking at both young people who were surprised.

"If I think they broke, you don't always have God in his original form in front of you," I said seriously. I knew this would happen sometime.

While the three of us sat in the armchairs, my grandfather and aunt sat in the individual ones.

"Ah, how comfortable they are. Humans really do magnificent things. I should change the silver throne for one of these. But let's see, Conner, what annoys you, little boy?" my grandfather joked.

Conner looked at me, and I nodded that he could speak freely, "I want to know what role I play in the world, because I was created, and what do I have to do to get accepted by Superman?" Conner said, surprised by the ease of his words.

I sighed, "Before my grandfather, there are no secrets, Conner, and before me, people have to tell the truth if I ask it," I said calmly. My grandfather settled and took a pensive pose.

"Mm, it's a good question, my child. What role do you play? The role you want to play. If you want to be a hero, tell me, and I assure you that you will be one of the greatest. And not because you are a clone of Clark. It's your life, live it as you want. Walk through the world that believes with my wife. Fall in love, have children, live a life full and satisfying to yourself. That is your role to live, created or not. You decide. You are not Clark; you are Conner, in your own way," God said quietly, smiling.

Conner opened his eyes and kept reflecting on the words that God had said to him, "the food is ready, let's all wash our hands and come eat," God said when he felt the kitchen clock. The three of us went up, washed our hands, and we went downstairs to eat.

Something that all three of us would agree on: God did cook heavenly, so much so that he gave Megan several recipes that she was happy to learn.

"Oh, what a nice dinner with family and friends. No Ethan," God said, laughing.

"Oh yes, grandpa, usually it was just the two of us eating in the silver city," I said, laughing.

"Your uncles don't appreciate my cooking. By the way, we have to talk about some things regarding your father," God said, looking at me calmly with a smile.

"Now that he's done in hell," I said, surprising Megan.

"Oh, he is nothing. He is with your half-sister. He only punishes sinners. Although it worries me a little, he has not been the same since the death of your mother, and the other infernal lords are a little restless, especially Trigon and your other uncle Azazel. He became purely a demon, abandoning all that he was," God said sadly.

"Then grandpa, what's up? Are the devils thinking of doing something?" I said, getting serious.

"Not just a demon, he got the Endless Dream Helmet, and I think I'll let your father meet Chloe Decker," God said, with Ethan almost coughing and Conner slapping his back.

"Grandpa, do you want me to go and get the helmet back? I owe Morpheus for Lucien, who took refuge in reverie. And you are sure, you already know that he knows Miss Decker. I gave him the gift of making him immune. Besides, she is married and with a daughter," I said, remembering what he showed me.

"Oh, she got divorced. Her husband cheated on her many times with other women, and Samael has been mourning the death of your mother for 15 years when he found out. And for the moment, I don't want you to go to Hell. If Sueño is looking for you, accompany him," He said, God sadly.

"Okay, Grandpa. Besides, my father can fall in love with whoever he wants. I don't care. But you know he'll be angry when he finds out that Chloe's plan was your idea and that I gave him the gift of making him vulnerable just because she looks like mom. Besides, he won't leave Hell. He takes it as his eternal punishment for the rebellion of heaven," I said, drinking orange juice.

"If he got angry, but hey, I'm a nosy father, and he's tired of his work. And he'll come out one day. I've seen him in several, you know. Plus, admit it, he looks like your mother," he said, laughing.

"Then I'll have to meet him. By the way, if he leaves, won't Grandma come out too?" I said, asking.

"Oh yes, your grandmother will come out. Frankly, I have a soft spot for that woman. It's my life. Oh, look at the best time to leave you with your friends. Take care, my child, and visit us whenever you want," he said, disappearing from the living room with Aunt Azrael.
