1 DC: Birth of a Angel

"It was the year 1995. A few years ago, superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and many more had emerged in the United States. Each one operated in different cities, fighting crime and saving people. A woman named Evelin Asher had entered Gotham General Hospital a few hours ago. Her labor was terrible; she had been screaming in pain for hours. The doctors were treating her as much as they could, but the woman was losing a lot of blood. They knew that she wouldn't make it through childbirth, but they would still try to save her.

This lasted a couple of hours until the child was born. The doctors saw that he was an adorable little creature. Something radiated from the child: warmth, happiness, joy, and passion.

"It's a boy, Mrs. Asher," the doctor said, looking at the mother who was emaciated from childbirth.

The boy's mother cried and said in a low and broken voice, "My boy, please give me my son. I want to see him." She said very slowly, her strength running out. The nurse took the little boy very carefully and wrapped him in a white blanket, giving him to Evelin slowly.

"My little one, I know I don't have much time left, and I won't be able to take care of you. I deeply regret that, but what I will never regret is having you. I hope your father can find you quickly, my baby. The only thing I can do is give you a name: my beautiful Ethan Asher Morningstar," Evelin said, gently hugging the baby, who laughed softly. At that moment, time seemed to have stopped, and a golden glow was in Ethan's eyes, which were a very beautiful green color. Added to the golden glow, the room where Evelin was began to get dark. She panicked; someone had found her.

"Haha, you thought you could escape, woman. American Witchcraft has been following your trail from Los Angeles for 9 months, and now his son is ours. His power will be ours. Ahh, the Son of Lucifer can feel powerful," said a tall black man from the door, a grotesque-looking man laughing.

"You won't have him. Your father will find him and take him away," Evelin said desperately, protecting Ethan, while she watched as shadows tore apart the doctors who had treated her.

"He won't arrive on time. All the magicians are taking care of the Hospital, massacring everyone inside," he said laughing, approaching Evelin with a dagger. He quickly cut her neck, and blood began to flow. Evelin looked desperate, begging for Lucifer or God to save Ethan, but no one appeared. The life in her eyes disappeared, and the man ripped Ethan from her arms and disappeared into the shadows. The Hospital was a carnage.

Batman arrived with the police to investigate what had happened. Many young and veteran policemen of the department were outside, vomiting from what they saw inside. Jim Gordon, the police commissioner, was standing with a pale face, and Batman came closer.

"Jim, what happened for them to be in this state?" Batman asked, seeing the condition of the entire police force.

"They massacred the entire hospital. It's brutal and inhumane. Almost 2500 people, including babies. Batman, whatever attacked the hospital, ate all the newborn babies," the man said to Batman, who tensed, and he entered. The air was flooded with the smell of blood, and the walls were painted with blood and human viscera. Batman and Jim advanced to the monitoring room to find clues. It was a bloody massacre, as he had said. They found bodies that had been eaten, devoured, or just mutilated. They reached the video room, and Batman began to search the records but found that they had all been taken and deleted.

"Damn, whoever did this deleted everything and took everything physical they could find. Maybe the income record will tell us something," Batman said with a dark tone.

"You think it was the Joker and Harley, because this would be a whole new level for the two maniacs," Jim said grimly.

"No, for this one time, he doesn't have the responsibility for this. He's capable of doing it, that's for sure, and Harley, no matter how villainous she is, would never hurt a newborn like they did tonight," Batman said, looking at the entry register. Nothing unusual. They entered due to childbirth, minor injuries, surgeries, nothing out of the ordinary.

Batman was analyzing all the records one by one, and Jim had returned to where he was.

"We found a body, a woman no more than 25 or 26 years old, Caucasian cause of death: her throat was slit, but everyone around her was torn to pieces in her hands. There was only a newborn blanket," Jim said with a lot of grief and fury.

"That narrows the list. What caused this must have been looking for it and finally found it. Jim, where is it? I'll see if I can find clues as to who did this," Batman said, walking to the room where the body of the woman was. In every hallway, there were body parts and pools of blood, viscera, and other nasty things. Both men reached the delivery room and entered.

Batman saw the body. The woman seemed terrified in her last moments; she had seen something that terrified her. In her arms, a blanket. Batman approached the woman and saw her, and after a few seconds, "This woman has just given birth. The one who caused this massacre killed her with a knife and took the baby she just had," said the bat. In the middle of the room, a golden Ankh appeared out of nowhere. Jim Gordon drew his gun and took aim.

From the Ankh emerged a man with a golden helmet, a blue suit, and a golden cape. Batman raised an eyebrow at this. "Jim, lower the weapon. He is an ally," he said, as Jim looked at the man who emerged.

"I thought I would never be Dr. Fate again, Kent," Batman said, intrigued as to why Kent Nelson had used Dr. Fate's helmet again.

The man saw Batman. "Batman, I asked Kent for a favor. I had to investigate a divine disturbance on earth," Dr. Destiny said, approaching the woman and analyzing her.

Batman raised his eyebrow even higher, "So this was done by a God," he said.

"No, this woman gave birth to something holy and sacred, but the massacre was done by sinister and dark magic. They found the child," said Dr. Fate, worried.

"No, there was no child with her," Batman said. Dr. Fate took off his helmet, and an already quite large man, with neatly combed gray hair and a neatly trimmed beard and well-dressed, saw the woman and performed a scan with golden lights of his hand.

"Batman, this is serious. Even Nabu was afraid of the energy we feel. He begged me to wear the helmet and investigate. This poor woman was sacrificed with a ritual dagger that absorbed her soul, and the child she gave birth to is in grave danger, and the earth, the same if something happens to it. Whoever the father is, is extremely powerful on the supernatural and divine side," said Kent Nelson.

Batman tensed, "I'll call the Justice League. This has priority,"

Kent Nelson nodded and saw the woman. He approached her and said, "I'm sorry for what happened. We will try to find your son and protect him," he said, closing his eyes.

At the same time, in a place that could only be defined as paradise, a huge city named Echa made of polished and shining silver, with beautiful ornaments, appeared. Hundreds of people with wings were flying through the sky, carrying weapons such as swords, bows, staffs, and maces.

On a shiny silver throne sat a man with his eyes closed. He seemed to be dozing on the seat, but suddenly opened his eyes in immediate shock and cried out.

"Azrael, Michael, Uriel, Amenadiel, to my throne immediately!" The man shouted, and four figures came flying quickly and knelt before him.

"Father, why are you calling us?" Miguel said worriedly, one shoulder higher than the other.

"A wave of Divine power arose on earth, in what they call Gotham City," God said, moving his hand and forming the image of Gotham. The angels frowned.

"Father, is it even possible for something so sacred to come out of that city? It's contaminated with sins and frankly disgusting beings, the worst of creation," Uriel said, looking at his father.

God looked at them calmly. "I felt it; someone briefly forgave all the sins of humans. A totally pure newborn baby is part Human and part Angelic. It felt like the Power of Samael, but someone is blocking his Angelic powers. Bring the child to heaven at all costs. Azrael, stay; the others, leave and find the child," He said seriously, and the other Angels became uneasy, except Azrael, who nodded, while the others flew away.

"Father, why do you want me to stay?" Said the female Angel, looking at her father.

"Daughter, I want you to look for the mother of the child. I felt her death and despair, but I did not feel her soul. Something must have trapped her, and the child is in serious danger. I will not let the family be in danger. I give you the permission to go down to earth, look for her, and bring her. I know that your brothers will not try to look for her," said God calmly.

Azrael looked at him for a few seconds. "But father, wouldn't Amenadiel or Michael be better? They are stronger than me," said the female angel.

"Yes, but also, they hold a grudge against their brother, whereas you worry about him. Go, my girl, look for him and bring him. He has to be with his family. This time, I give you permission to break the old rules. I will open the doors of heaven, and you will go to earth," said God, moving his hand, and some golden doors appeared and opened. Azrael agreed and went through the doors.

God was left alone and said, "I summon Fate of the Endless." A man with a toga and a book tied with a chain appeared and knelt down.

"Lord, why am I summoned to your kingdom?" said Fate of the Endless.

"I want you to tell me the name of the child who was born today and his destiny," God said calmly. The Eternal nodded and opened his book, but he went blank when he saw the pages.

"My lord, the child is called Ethan Asher Morningstar, Son of Lucifer Morningstar, or Samael Demiurgos if you prefer that title, and Evelin Asher. But his destiny is blank; it does not exist, or rather it has not been written, and he only exists in this universe, the universe of origin," said Fate, reviewing the book.

God showed a big smile. "That's all, Fate. You can go, and thanks for the information," God said, making Fate leave.

When God was left alone, he observed the world. "It is worrying if someone can hide their angelic power. We will not be able to feel it until their human part is close to dying. When I grab the unclean being that touched my grandson, it awaits him to be erased from existence," God said angrily, with the sky turning red and blood-red rays flooding the place.

Something similar happened in Hell. Lucifer was sitting on his throne, having a glass of wine or what seemed to be wine, with a bored face while taking a sip. Suddenly, he felt a divine shock, and his face changed to an interested one. Mazikeen was next to him, telling him the things that the Demons demanded in his kingdom, and looking at him curiously.

"Oh, fascinating. Which of my brothers will have done that? Momentarily forgive all the sins of Gotham City and descend to the earth. It was no longer the power that continues to extend to the earth, but the epicenter was Gotham. Who will have descended to purify that city of cursed souls?" Lucifer said, interested in what he just felt. Mazikeen, on the other hand, was looking at him in silence.

"Lucifer, you said that the Angels can no longer go to earth of their own free will after the death of Saint Peter at the hands of humans," Mazikeen said grimly.

"Oh, it's not that they can't. They're not interested in going. But Father must have sent him for something. Some other things found Evelin Asher or her trail," said a Lucifer who truly seemed dismayed for a human woman.

"No, the Demons that were sent to the Angels were returned by John Constantine, who found them following the tracks of that Human," Mazikeen said without understanding why Lucifer cared.

Lucifer squeezed the arms of his seat so hard that they broke, a powerful force forced Mazikeen to her knees in fear. Lucifer was furious and worried.

"I want Evelin safe at all costs, even if I have to bring her to Hell myself to protect her. If my brothers found out about my relationship with her, they would kill her without hesitation and disintegrate her soul, especially Uriel or Miguel. I just hope that if one of my brothers finds her, Azrael will be the one to find her," said Lucifer, preparing to send more demons in his search.

The Justice League was meeting in the Watchtower, a large secret space station in orbit around Earth.

"Bruce, why did you call us to such an urgent meeting?" asked a man in a blue suit and red cape with a big S on his chest. He was sitting at a table with many more people.

"We have a Mystic Class Emergency. Tonight, in Gotham City, Gotham General Hospital was attacked, and 2470 people were massacred and even cannibalized. According to Dr. Fate, it was done by some magician or witch who was looking for a newborn," Batman said, showing the images of the crime to the League. All the members were horrified to see the level of bestiality of the crime.

A man dressed as a Vegas magician saw all this and asked nervously, "Oh no, is this related to the wave of power we felt?" He asked Kent Nelson, who was next to Batman.

"Yes, Giovanni, I'm afraid the child was taken, and the attacker used various magical monstrosities to sweep the Hospital. Nabu also found remains of a powerful protective barrier so that certain beings would not find out about

"Wait, a child who was born with great power and what kind, mutation, or Alien?" said a man in a red suit with a yellow lightning bolt on his chest, quickly.

"No, Barry. Something more Mystical Power. I felt it for a few moments. It felt like happiness and joy, an almost heavenly heat," said a woman in red and blue armor, remembering what she felt in Washington DC.

"No, Diana, to be more precise, it was more than Mystic. The Child erased the slightest sins of Gotham City. His power was Divine in its entirety, and there is only one type of being that can do that," Kent Nelson said, looking worried.

"Kent, it's impossible to know. They would never mix with a Human. Besides, they have not set foot on the earth since the death of Saint Peter by the hand of Nero," Giovanni Zatana said.

Many of the members got a little uneasy, "Wait a bit, we're not all mystic arts masters we're talking about," Barry Allen said.

Diana looked as shocked as a blond man in orange chainmail and green pants.

"Angels, Barry. The child who was born is half Angel and half Human. He was born on November 1, All Saints' Day, at the first minute of the day," Kent Nelson said, leaving everyone surprised.

"So we're talking about someone kidnapping a newborn Angel, literally forgiving the craziest city in America of its sins," Barry said in surprise.

"By Neptune, we had better find the Child and keep him safe, for heaven's fury is not something to be trifled with," said the man with the orange chainmail, beard, and blond hair.

"Arthur is not kidding. If Miguel or Amenadiel go down to Earth and something happens to the child, we are doomed. We will have to ask that big English idiot for help," said Kent Nelson.

"Constantine," Batman said, with Kent nodding.

Thus the meeting happened, and the whole league began to desperately search for the Child, just like the demons looking for the Mother, and Azrael looking for his nephew. They searched for him for 6 years, but whoever kidnapped him had totally sealed his Divine part and locked himself in an impenetrable castle.

In the dungeon, in the middle of the darkness, you could see a boy of little more than 6 years old. His body was skinny, marking his bones, and his hair, which reached his neck, was white due to the lack of sun. He was held by black chains that raised his arms and legs from the ground, with a blindfold on his eyes and a gag on his mouth with red inscriptions and patterns. Several tubes came from his arm, transporting blood that fell slowly into a large glass flask. His blood was red with golden touches, and in his mouth was a thicker tube containing a gray mush.

In front of the boy was a tall Caucasian man with a thin face and deep-set eyes. He wore a headdress consisting of a gold crown and a black cloth that covered his hair and part of his cheeks. He wore a long-sleeved black shirt that went up to his neck, with large metal bands on his torso.
