15 Chapter 15: Harry Potter

Near Hagrid's cabin, not far from the endless Forbidden Forest in the ruins of Hogwarts, the zombie dog seemed completely dead with its teeth broken off.

But in reality, only its paws had been cut off, and its stomach had blown up, and zombies weren't that fragile.

Old K held the tattered Sorting Hat and waited for Mason's response.

The cunning old K also quickly glanced at the golden bomb detonator in his hand. The red dot representing Mason was right in front of him, exactly where Mason was standing at the moment.

And that bomb was still on him.

But that's what Old K knew.

"I've been trying to convince myself that joining your group might be a good choice," Mason said, leaning on his explosive shotgun, which he had named "Old K."

He stared at the old hunter, ignoring the cold and expressionless Plastique standing behind him, and continued, "But unfortunately, I haven't been able to convince myself, perhaps because I don't like being invited in such a unique way, with a bomb implanted in me. I'm quitting your team, Old K."

Mason did not try to disguise his feelings or delay his decision.

He said directly "I have no interest in the damn Star Society, and I want to leave this hellish world and go back to Gotham to live the new life that I just earned for myself."

Old K's movements with the Sorting Hat suddenly stopped.

He looked up, and the corner of his mouth, with a smoking pipe, moved, blowing out a smoke ring. "Do you know what you're talking about? Are you high? I thought you'd be more rational."

"We can part ways peacefully and still be friends in the future." Mason said helplessly. "That Hat in your hand is probably the most valuable thing here. It's enough for me to repay the favor I owe you."

"Too bad." Old K read Mason's expression. After confirming that Mason wasn't joking, the light in his eyes became cold, and he sighed.

"I really had high hopes for you, Mason, but there's no quitting in this line of work. Either die or keep going. You made the wrong choice."

"May your death please the Dark Stars and illuminate the path for us."

With a snap, Old K finished his line and pressed the detonator in his hand. A muffled explosion and a pitiful scream rose from Mason's arms.

In the gaze of Old K's slightly changed face, the birdcage emitting black smoke in the young man's arms fell to the ground. The zombie cat inside was penetrated and torn apart, and the explosion almost cut the whole body in half.

"Boom!"

As Mason fell forward, he pressed the mini remote control hidden in his hand. The two engineering bombs hidden underground behind him instantly exploded, throwing Plastique, who had raised her crossbow to shoot out.

The piercing sound of gunfire exploded. Old K, who had just swung his sword in front of Mason, was forced back by the three-shot rapid-fire of the double-barreled pistols. But in the next moment, he flickered to Mason's side.

The single-handed sword with a golden hilt gleamed with an arc of light and was swung down. Surrounded by the arc of light, Mason was like being hit by a flashbang grenade.

Suddenly, he lost his sense of sight and even felt like his eyes were going blind.

However, he also activated Vertigo's disruptor, which was strapped to his wrist at the same time. The electromagnetic waves that disrupted the senses spread in all directions, causing the sword blade that Old K swung towards Mason's neck to deflect and strike Mason's shoulder instead.

The sharp sword left a wound that made Mason scream out loud. He reached into his pocket and threw out an engineering explosive while climbing outwards, at the same time twisting open the last vial of swallowtail potion and gulping it down.

The sword had a strange property. When it was swung, its flashing light could temporarily blind people.

However, the technology left by Vertigo was still useful. Old K, who was caught off guard and ambushed, felt dizzy and uncomfortable.

The cautious Old K didn't rush forward but instead stayed in place and reached into his pocket for a small bottle of potion, which he then drank and instantly soothed the discomfort of his dizziness.

Mason's blindness also returned to normal after a few seconds.

He got up with a messy appearance, slung his pistol behind his back, and held the Penguin's armed umbrella in his hand. Just as he did, Plastique jumped up with her hair flying and fired two arrows at him with her hand crossbow.

The umbrella was opened in that direction.

The moment the hand crossbow arrows hit the umbrella's but were blocked, the energy injected into them caused an explosion that blasted Mason and the umbrella away. When Old K saw Mason being attacked with the sword glinting in his hand.

However, just as Plastique lowered her hand crossbow and was about to enjoy Mason Cooper's moment of death, a breeze suddenly blew behind her, causing her body to move uncomfortably.

She didn't feel anything was wrong, but Old K, who was walking towards Mason to kill him for his betrayal, suddenly stopped at this moment.

The old K's nose moved.

He swung his sword to shatter the bullet fired by Mason and suddenly turned his head to look at Plastique, shouting at her.

"Quick, duck! There's something behind you!"

"Huh?" Plastique was startled and subconsciously took a step forward and looked back.

There was clearly nothing behind her.

"Poof!"

Without warning, a sharp pain surged into Plastique's heart, accompanied by the sound of claws piercing flesh. Plastique, who was running, seemed to have been pierced through the heart by an invisible ghost from behind, and the ghost had crushed her heart before she could feel the pain.

Blood gushed out of Plastique's chest in large amounts.

Before her eyes, everything was hazy, as if she had returned to the war-torn battlefields of Afghanistan. She knew she would die somewhere but did not expect death to come so suddenly.

In the last moments of her life, fueled by anger and resentment towards death, Plastique decided to make her departure more intense.

Under the gaze of Old K and Mason, a chaotic and dangerous energy surged through Plastique's body. As her superpower was about to take its final bow at the moment of her death.

Old K flashed out with a swish while Mason turned his head and desperately jumped forward.

A loud bomb exploded in place.

Plastique could cause anything she touched to explode. This time she chose to detonate herself, burning almost everything within 50 meters to ashes.

Mason was blown several meters away by the shock wave. When he landed, his vision went black, as if a heavy hammer had hit him in the chest, making it hard for him to breathe.

But at least he survived.

On the other side, Old K appeared on a tree trunk, holding his sword and looking coldly at the burning pit left by Plastique's death. His eyes had turned into strange yellow cat pupils, emitting a faint light. His nose kept twitching, showing that he was searching a large area.

"Mason, The thing is still there" A few seconds later, Old K shouted to Mason below, who wanted to run.

"It can turn invisible. Even my hunter senses can't find it. You can run. But if u ran, I would die, and you will be next. I don't think it will spare any fresh flesh, and I'm sure I will be the last to die among us. Wanna bet?"

'That kind of powerful explosion couldn't kill it?' Mason's heart skipped a beat as he stopped his steps and turned to look at Old K on the tree. He said

"You're joking, right?"

"It was injured, but it was already dead. It's a magical zombie. God knows what weird abilities it has." Old K's expression was also extremely ugly.

He hid in the trunk and observed the surroundings. That became extremely dangerous in an instant, saying "That thing. I can't be sure what it is yet, but I believe it is one of the most dangerous creatures in these ruins. I need your help, Mason."

"After we cooperate to hunt it down, we may discuss the conditions for you to leave the team again." Old Hunter said.

"By 'cooperate,' do you mean using me as bait to lure it out?" Mason held his combat shotgun, looked around cautiously, and reloaded his firearm.

"I'm a marksman, Old K. If we need a bait, shouldn't it be you as a swordsman?"

"You're a damn terrible marksman," Old K sneered, sheathing his swords and taking out his huge hunter crossbow from his back to aim at the tree. He said coldly, "In our place, guys like you can't even pass the first test of the Trial of the Grasses. Go be the bait. Otherwise, I'll shoot you right now. Unless you can escape 300 meters in one second, my arrow will shoot your skull in the next second."

Mason took a deep breath and walked towards him.

He didn't believe anything Old K said, but the fact that the old hunter proposed a joint venture while having the upper hand meant that the invisible guy who killed the bomb woman was indeed not easy to deal with.

He didn't believe anything Old K said, but the fact that the old hunter suggested cooperating together while having the upper hand meant that the invisible thing that killed Plastique was indeed not easy to deal with.

Mason walked forward while constantly observing the surroundings, unable to lock onto a target with his continually shifting crosshairs. He was on edge, and any rustling of leaves or sound made him vigilant.

But as he walked, Mason suddenly noticed something strange.

He stopped in his tracks and called out to Old K, who had his crossbow prepared on his back.

"Old K, can you still sense the voodoo birdcage you gave me?"

"What do you mean?" Old K frowned.

"That birdcage!" Mason pointed to the spot where the three of them had just confronted each other.

He stared at the ground, covered in blood and flesh, and yelled, "The birdcage with Professor McGonagall in it is gone! I swear it was there just now! Maybe the magic zombie took it! Wait a minute."

"I think I know who the attacker is. It's not here to kill us! It's because you hurt Professor McGonagall with the bomb that it got angry. It still has its own thoughts and hasn't completely lost its mind. Mr. Potter? Is it you?"

"What nonsense are you talking about? Professor McGonagall? Mr. Potter? Are you cursed or something?"

Old K was completely confused and couldn't understand what Mason was saying. Old K took out a strange, dirty voodoo doll from his pocket and held it in his hand.

In the next moment, his face changed, and he turned the direction of the crossbow towards a spot five meters away from Mason and shot three arrows in a row. Two arrows hit the monster, and the last arrow was left for Mason. It was clearly a plan to kill two birds with one stone.

"Poof"

The sound of an arrow piercing flesh horrified Mason's ears. Mason, who was hit by the arrow, slipped and dodged to a distance, enduring the pain. He pulled out the arrow and opened a high-level healing potion in his hand, and drank it to pull himself back from the edge of a serious injury.

He turned around and saw it.

The magic arrow shot by Old K was stuck in the chest of the magic zombie that could turn invisible, and the arrowhead burst into dazzling lightning, forcibly revealing the creature from its hidden state.

Mason still clearly saw the creature's completely zombified face and open eye sockets in the middle of the splashing lightning.

Its hands had transformed into zombie claws. The left claw held a shattered heart, and the right claw gripped the birdcage containing Professor McGonagall. The short dead hair could not cover the unique lightning symbol on its forehead.

Harry Potter.

The savior of the wizarding world.

He was disabled by the power of Old K's magic arrow, unable to move. He wore a vintage black long coat and suit, with a large silver-grey magic cloak.

When Mason saw this, his heart immediately began to race.

But Old K didn't know this guy.

Seeing that the magic arrow revealed invisibility, Old K flickered to the ground, drew out his swords, and rushed up, stabbing Mr. Potter's body with several blades. The swords to give him the final blow.

Mason also bravely rushed up.

But he wasn't there to help Mr. Potter, but to grab the invisibility cloak on him, pulled the strap tied in front of his chest, and pull it down with all his strength.

He also covered the silver-gray cloak on himself in the amazed gaze of Old K and made a "goodbye" gesture to him.

In the next moment, Mason's figure and his breath disappeared completely in place, making Old K so angry that he wanted to swing his sword and chop this black-equipped guy into flesh.

"Bang!"

As Mr. Potter struggled to counterattack, Old K used his outstanding swordsmanship to knock him down with a sword, and the next blow would be killing him.

But at this moment, with a muffled sound, a sniper bullet flew from nowhere and hit Mr. Potter's head first, blowing it before Old K could deliver the final blow.

Seeing the zombie's head explode in front of him, the whole body of the old hunter was frozen in place, and anger surged in his heart.

"Mason Cooper!!! I bet the honor of the cat on this! I'm going to kill you."

The powerless and enraged old K kicked the body at his feet aside, planning to figure out how to deal with Mason, who had become increasingly tricky.

But within a few seconds, old K frowned and looked toward the Forbidden Forest. A growing sense of danger was surging in that direction as if something terrible was charging out of that dark forest.

Old K picked up his crossbow and loaded a precious magical arrow into it, then he saw the terrified Kite Man screaming as he flew out of the Forbidden Forest, flying towards him in panic.

The old hunter sneered and aimed at Mason's subordinate.

But before he could pull the trigger, old K's face changed as he re-aimed the arrow at the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. Shaking ground, a giant black beast about five or six meters tall rushed out of the darkness, violently smashing through the trees.

It had a body the size of a small mountain, terrifying claws, and three heads that howled with low growls.

The three-headed dog

Old K started to back away, preparing to temporarily leave the place.

The veteran hunter put away his crossbow and grabbed his long sword and hunting knife for safety. But just as his hunting knife was unsheathed, the terrifying three-headed dog chasing after the kite man suddenly stopped.

In stunned silence, Old K watched as the three-headed dog twitched continuously, followed by six crimson eyes staring straight at him.

After the three-headed dog, an even more frightening figure with eight spider legs quickly appeared from the Forbidden Forest like a ghost in the night.

The zombie-like eight-eyed giant spider, whose head was smaller than the three-headed dog, also locked onto the old hunter holding Hagrid's hunting knife.

As an excellent hunter, Old K could understand the angry roar of the two beasts as they took steps towards him, even though he did not know why he had angered them. He had nowhere to run.

He was no match for these two beasts in terms of speed.

Fighting in this environment was also difficult to win. He sighed and regretfully took out a stone engraved with runes from his pocket and threw it on the ground, planning to use magic to escape.

But just as the stone flashed, a bullet suddenly flew towards him. With a loud bang, the runic stone was sent flying.

The teleportation light also disappeared into the air.

"Mason!!!"

The old hunter gritted his teeth and took three bottles of oddly colored potions from his waistband, drinking them down. The black veins surged up from his neck to his cheeks, making him look like a demon.

He swore! After killing these two monsters, he would crush Mason Cooper to death.
