73 Chapter 73: Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, was known for being righteous, strong, compassionate, kind, approachable, level-headed, and concealing his emotions. He was nearly the perfect leader, except for his excessively strong sense of compassion and kindness, which sometimes made him vulnerable to Megatron's ruthless exploitation. This kindness could hinder his decisions as a military leader since it often involved weighing sacrifices.

However, from another perspective, Optimus Prime's compassion and kindness were the sources of his strength. They were what united the Autobots, enabling them to stand up against the Decepticons, who were willing to do whatever it took to achieve their goals.

Optimus Prime was considered the epitome of leadership and the perfect warrior. Under his guidance, the Autobots displayed selfless unity in contrast to the Decepticons' deceit and treachery, forming a stark contrast between the two factions.

He and Megatron were almost polar opposites, natural adversaries.

Peterbilt 389 Heavy Duty truck Optimus Prime drove through the winding road, leading a team of three Autobots:

- An off-road rescue vehicle transformed from a modified yellow Hummer H2, serving as a combat medic and scientist.

- Jazz, a sleek vehicle resembling a Pontiac Solstice GXP, who served as Optimus Prime's second-in-command.

- Ironhide, originally close to Megatron and other Decepticons before joining the Autobots out of disgust for their brutality and chaos. He transformed into a black GMC TopKick C4500 and acted as Optimus Prime's bodyguard and weapons specialist.

The three Autobots followed Optimus Prime through the winding road and headed straight for Hoover Dam.

From a distance, Optimus Prime spotted Megatron standing on a hill, overlooking him.

The headlights on Optimus Prime's transformed Peterbilt 389 Heavy Duty truck briefly flashed. Ignoring Megatron, Optimus Prime detected H'el, who was hovering 30 meters above the ground.

The immense heat and the unknown force field radiated through the sky, making even the AllSpark seem insignificant in his hands.

"Once again, Megatron has fallen, unable to seize the AllSpark," Optimus Prime remarked.

The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, had been in conflict with Megatron for a long time. As old rivals, Optimus Prime knew exactly what kind of character Megatron possessed.

Ruthless, cruel, relentless, and willing to go to any lengths, Megatron surprisingly tolerated someone else controlling the AllSpark.

"My sonar, radar, radio wave detectors, thermal sensors, electromagnetic wave detectors... all indicate that the energy and power within this human far surpass those of Megatron. He could blow Megatron away in an instant," Ironhide, who served as Optimus Prime's bodyguard and weapons specialist, solemnly stated.

Ironhide preferred actions to words and had little patience for the "small-time thugs" who talked more than they acted. But seeing this human, he couldn't help but say a few more words.

He felt that under the feet of this human, the Decepticons, these small-time thugs, would have no resistance and would kneel before him.

"He might have acknowledged his master and been sent to assassinate us," speculated Jazz, the deputy commander.

Any Transformers with basic visual perception could see and sense the heat of the human floating in the air, which was beyond their usual understanding.

"This human is terrifying. But if our main target is just Megatron, we'll be fine. Just remember to pick up any limbs that get blown off," the medic and scientist, who transformed into a yellow Hummer H2 off-road rescue vehicle, joked on the communication channel. He possessed exceptional medical skills and deep knowledge of Cybertronian physiology, earning him the nickname "medic."

The Autobots exchanged banter over the communication channel, trying to relieve the tension caused by their encounter with H'el.

That continued until they entered Megatron's firing range.

Megatron ordered Blackout to fire cluster missiles at Optimus Prime's convoy. Despite Blackout's underlying frustration about why Megatron didn't expend his own energy to attack, he followed orders and launched the cluster missiles at Optimus Prime's team.

"Autobots, Megatron has lost his nerve. He fears death and has lost his confidence. But we cannot afford to sit idly by. After defeating Megatron, we may face an unprecedented formidable enemy. Just by looking at the energy index we've observed, it's enough to make one tremble. We cannot afford to lose the AllSpark. I firmly believe that Cybertron has a future!"

"Autobots, transform and roll out!"

As the cluster missiles neared their position, Optimus Prime and the three other Autobots quickly split into a diamond formation, evading the cluster missile barrage.

Large flames and black smoke erupted nearby as the cluster missiles struck, enveloping the area in darkness.

Optimus Prime took the lead in the charge, initiating his transformation sequence. His arms extended from beneath the cab, the front grille folded like a set of louvers to reveal his chest, and the front windshield halves shielded his chest. His wheels retracted into his abdomen, the side mirrors folded down, and the front mudguards formed his shoulder blades. The main and auxiliary fuel tanks, rear chassis, and lower body parts integrated into his back, and the exhaust pipes arranged like upward-facing wings, concealed his lower legs and ankles.

In an instant, Optimus Prime completed his transformation, standing nearly ten meters tall. His towering red and blue body exuded a strong mechanical presence. With the Judgment Sword strapped to his back, he smoothly emerged from the black smoke and flames. He raised his head and fixed his gaze on Megatron's position.

As he advanced, his heels retracted into skates. With a burst of thrust from the rear, he jetted forward, extending his hand to grasp the hilt of the Judgment Sword. With a mighty pull, he unsheathed it from his back and swung it down at Megatron.

Unfazed, Megatron confidently swung his chain mace, precisely targeting Optimus Prime's descending Judgment Sword. The chain mace collided with the sword, deflecting Optimus Prime's attack.

Without missing a beat, Optimus Prime somersaulted, claiming part of the terrain for himself. He launched an attack on Megatron, and his allies Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz rushed to engage Blackout in combat.

"Megatron, are you too afraid to take the AllSpark?" Optimus Prime taunted while wielding the Judgment Sword, not just launching intense physical attacks but also trying to provoke Megatron's anger.

The AllSpark was in H'el's possession, and Megatron was indeed too afraid to make a move. In front of H'el, he was rendered powerless and had no opportunity to act. This feeling filled him with both fear and humiliation.

He kept reminding himself that this was just temporary restraint, but facing someone like Optimus Prime, he couldn't help but lose his composure.

Megatron's enraged eyes glowed intensely red. He took several steps back, waiting for the right moment. Then, he transformed into his Cybertronian jet mode, somersaulting in the sky and aiming to collide with Optimus Prime in mid-air.

He intended to ram Optimus Prime and send him crashing down the hole he had just ascended.

"You know nothing!" Megatron shouted as he charged forward.
