34 Chapter 34: Fools

Jupiter, slender in figure, wore a white mini-suit, a tight-fitting skirt, and black stockings that accentuated her shapely legs. Her high-heeled shoes with pointed toes clicked as she stood on the bloodstained grounds of the Capitol Square.

Her heart was cold, and her face was tense as she directed the police officers and the military stationed in the city. Flags of "justice angels," "kindness," and "merciful deities" were trampled underfoot, and the panicked crowd was guided away in an orderly but tense fashion.

In the hearts of the people, it felt as if their faith had collapsed. With trembling hearts, they were led away from the Capitol Square.

Black vehicles began to arrive, picking up the remains of the journalists and placing them in black body bags. Strangely, there was a lingering scent of flesh at the scene, causing several officers to vomit upon witnessing it.

The scene was beyond gruesome; it was a horrifying depiction of hell on Earth.

Jupiter suppressed her inner chill and the nausea that came with the scent of flesh. She handled everything with a strong resolve.

Once all the remains were bagged and ready for cremation, fire trucks sprayed high-pressure jets of water, creating a torrent of white that washed away the bloodstains on the ground. It took two hours to completely cleanse the area of the crimson stains.

It appeared as if nothing had happened here.

Jupiter's fair, determined, and beautiful face was now streaked with sweat. A few strands of hair clung to her face, and she brushed them away with the back of her hand, revealing calm, azure eyes behind her black-framed glasses.

Thinking about how the journalist team had been torn apart by the heat vision, how human lives had been extinguished as easily as cutting wheat, the horrifying scene of a hellish massacre, Jupiter felt a shiver in her heart, and anger welled up within her.

She tightly pursed her red lips, her complexion turning cold. Wearing her high heels with determination, she left the Capitol building.

While H'el was uninterested in dealing with these matters, Stacker was busy splitting the military forces. As H'el's secretary, Jupiter had the power to control the entire city, and even the officials, including the police and the military stationed in the conquered country.

She left the Capitol building and stepped onto the street, where an old black Volkswagen Beetle pulled up right in front of her.

Without hesitation, Jupiter opened the car door and got into the black Beetle.

The Beetle made several detours on the main road and drove Jupiter to the Four Seasons Hotel, taking routes with minimal surveillance.

Inside the car, Jupiter took out her tablet, which she used for handling affairs, and deliberately disabled the camera.

As she smashed the camera, the tablet screen lit up, displaying the image of a barefooted Dawn in a red dress. Her voice came through.

"Jupiter, have you encountered danger? Your camera seems to be damaged," Dawn asked with concern.

"I accidentally dropped it, and it got damaged. I'm fine; I'm on my way back to the Four Seasons Hotel," She replied in a weary tone, her face cold.

"Alright, please stay safe."

"Thank you for your concern, Dawn."

Just as H'el's arrogance dictated, this was not monitoring, nor were these orders from H'el. It was simply the concern of a child, Dawn, who cared about Jupiter.

Because H'el simply didn't care about her. There were plenty of people willing to be his secretary, and she had volunteered. So be it.

It didn't matter.

This indifference particularly fueled Jupiter's anger, and her face turned ashen.

She was not irreplaceable, not unique, and held no significance.

Even though she currently held the power to command hundreds of thousands, had the authority to mobilize the police and the military, and possessed the power to kill her own kind, she would not be considered by H'el.

Jupiter harbored a strong urge to kill, her expression darkening.

The driver seemed concerned about interrupting her conversation, so he parked the car by the side of the street, directly above a manhole cover, and waited for them to finish talking.

After finishing the conversation with Dawn, She tossed the tablet and the voice recorder containing a fifteen-minute advisory report to the driver. The driver, with an emotionless face, accepted them and manipulated the modified Beetle. A mechanical arm extended from the bottom, lifted the manhole cover, revealing the sewer stairs.

She tensed her arm muscles, lifted the car's underbelly, and, with her legs still clad in black stockings, jumped straight into the sewer.

The Beetle closed the manhole cover and slowly departed.

She descended into the sewer, her legs spread apart, the tight skirt hugging her thighs and buttocks, accentuating their strong and graceful curves. Her high-heeled shoes rested against the outer edge of the iron stairs, and her hands lightly gripped the railing to maintain her balance as she slid all the way down.

Her nose was filled with the foul odor, but her face remained unchanged as she proceeded deeper.

After several turns, she arrived at a spacious sewer central area, then entered a dark sewer entrance.

In the flowing sewage, she reached a room covered in high-tech soundproof insulation.

In the room, there was a round table with eleven seats. Eleven people sat there, their faces concealed in the dim light of the oil lamp behind them.

"Kevin is dead."

"We have failed."

"No, the psychological team did not miscalculate. He's just an alien with the psyche of an ordinary human. His mind is already within my control."

"Eradicating evil, it's quite laughable."

"His thoughts, his mind were indeed within our grasp."

"Then why did we fail?"

"Being looked upon with admiration, adoration, and longing by people, praised as 'just,' 'kind,' 'the guardian of humanity,' and other positive attributes, it's a mental poison. Subconscious positive desires are insatiable. He actually managed to break free."

"Shouldn't we have defined him as what people perceived him to be at this time?"

"On the contrary, when he first conquered this nation and eliminated eight million criminals, it was at the height of his worldwide recognition. At that time, he possessed strong emotions driven by anger against evil. Deep down, he harbored a bitter feeling towards the filthiness of criminals. Only at this time, when humanity acknowledged his accomplishments and bestowed upon him the titles of 'justice,' 'kindness,' and 'the guardian of humanity,' did he become a lovely beacon in his eyes. It made him believe that his actions were meaningful and planted the thoughts of justice and evil, fighting for humanity, protecting humanity, and gradually advancing in his psyche. This was used to manipulate his mind entirely."

"No ordinary human psyche can escape this mental delicacy, this psychological manipulation."

"But the fact is we failed!"

"..."

"He figured it out. He's smarter than all of us put together. He saw through Kevin's actions."

"I won't admit he's more intelligent than us, but he indeed saw through."

"As long as he had shown a little weakness on the spot, Kevin wouldn't have died. He would have entered an unrecoverable psychological abyss. Once the gap opened, he would have been off-balance, relying on humanity to survive. He understood this and acted without hesitation."

"It's really laughable that he, encapsulated in such a hard shell, can't see the evil right in front of him. This is your greatest weakness, alien!"

As they discussed the failure and the psychological behavior of the alien, a pale-faced man, who appeared gentle under the flickering dim oil lamp, stood up from his seat and scanned the room.

"I've noticed that this is a protracted war with no victory in sight. Standing alongside you, self-proclaimed owners of the most intelligent human brains, people who consider themselves at the pinnacle of human intellect, will only waste the remaining time of my life. I quit."

"Compared to scheming and plotting with you, I'll become a subordinate of the alien, gain superpowers that belong to me, and live a more carefree and indulgent life. That's the right path."

The gentle man shook his head, revealing a different intention from the others, causing the people in the dim room to have ruthless expressions and disdainful eyes.

As he walked towards the exit, a figure already positioned near the exit, Jupiter, used her slender fingers to gently tuck back a few strands of hair clinging to her cheek. Her spine remained straight as she removed her black glasses and placed them on the table, revealing a resolute and unfeeling face.

Her bright blue eyes were like turbulent waves, violently stirring. As the gentle man was about to reach the exit, Jupiter suddenly burst into action. With a fierce tearing sound, her tight-fitting dress, which accentuated her curves, was torn apart. A swift leg shot out from the torn dress, directly striking the man's diaphragm, pushing him backward. He stumbled back, clutching his stomach in pain and slamming into the wall.

Jupiter advanced, and with another sharp tearing sound, the dress was ripped to its roots. Her long legs, clad in black stockings, were muscular and exquisitely contoured, possessing a powerful beauty. A remarkable sight, indeed. She approached with another swift movement, and her high-heeled shoe tip was embedded deeply in the man's lower jaw. It caused him immense pain, and amidst the agony, he could smell the stench of blood and filth from the shoe sole.

No one paid attention to the lace patterns that faintly clung to her delicate and fair skin.

With the high heel's tip still embedded in the man's lower jaw, Jupiter's eyes flickered with ruthless determination. Her beautiful face remained as calm as a deep-sea maelstrom, and she moved to the calf of her raised right leg, stating in an icy tone, "Can you smell it? The bloody stench on the sole of the high heel is from Kevin and ninety-three heroes of the Human Self-Rescue Society, striking a blow for human freedom against that demon."
