Chapter 7: Meta-blocked 

(Author's note: Boys. Just wanted to let you know, whatever MC does, remember he is attractive with a perfect body. If a ugly rando does this to a girl it would be creepy. But if a well dressed guy who looks good does it, it becomes Rizz. Do not try this. Also, the female character I am portraying is from a high-school teen drama, she has an outgoing personality, so her actions will make sense in future chapters. Also, their both tipsy becoming drunk, so what is bland to the readers is hilarious to them.)

Serena then ordered me a drink as well as we both started some casual conversation.


I could still feel my heart pounding from the whole interaction.


I wanted to stop at 5 different times, but I didn't want Barry to hold one over me so I went through with it.

Thank god for alcohol since I would never have the guts to approach a female, let alone someone as attractive as this one if I wasn't tipsy.

Everytime we made eye contact, I could feel my heart flutter a little as nervousness crept up into my stomach while I tried to play it calm.

"Do you go to college near here?" She asked as she took a sip of her drink.


"No, I didn't go to college, I am working right now." I replied to her honestly. I wasn't really bothered that I didn't go to university.

"Oh, as what?"

"I am an assistant manager at Jitters. How about you? You go to CCU?" I asked her.

"Well…no, at least not yet."

Speaking about colleges…slowly an idea crept its way into my head…wait. I should have asked this first.

"If you don't mind me asking this, how old are you?" I asked after a little hesitation. I did not need the police on my ass, considering I was with 2 cops.

"I am 18 so don't worry. And how about you Lucas?" She asked as she laughed a little herself.

I felt relief wash into my body when she said her age. I didn't question how she bought her drinks in the bar…or well, I never thought to question it. Since even I drank when I was younger before, it isn't hard to get a fake ID.

"I recently turned 21."

"Wow, assistant manager at such a young age ? Someone seems to be a hard worker." She teased.

With that, our conversation flowed rather naturally. I wasn't really a complete extrovert, so sometimes she initiated different topics which made me happy as it didn't put so much pressure on me to carry the conversation.

I guess it was fairly obvious I didn't have a lot of experience approaching people, but she didn't really bring it up at any point.

"Give me just a moment, I will be right back." She said, as she grabbed her bag and walked towards the restroom.

While she left, I could feel the alcohol hit me like a truck and slowly numb my entire mind.

"Dude? So, what happened? Did you get her number?" Cisco asked, as he walked towards me.

"Not yet, I was going to ask her when she comes back. I really think there might be something there." I told him, slightly grateful they pushed me a little.


"That's great. Hey man, something came up at the Lab so Barry, Professor Stein and Jay went back first. Joe and I will be joining them now. Can I trust you to get home safe?" He asked me.

I turned back to our table to see Joe settling the bill, with no Barry or Professor Stein in sight.


I then stood up and walked towards the waiter and passed my…Toms card.


"Just put everything on this. Including my drinks with the girl." I mentioned.

Before Joe could even refuse I said, "Joe today was my treat. Don't worry about it."

Joe smiled slightly, as he patted my shoulder, "You really have grown up Lucas. Let's do this again sometime. Maybe without any lady interruptions," He added with a smirk.

I nodded at that and bid my farewell to the pair.

"Who were they?" Asked Serena as she walked towards me.

"Ah, my friends, I actually came with them today." I replied.


"Wow, so it's so easy for you to betray your friends?" She teased, as she leaned in towards me slightly.

"Urm…no?" I said, not really knowing how to respond.

"I am just teasing you, lighten up a little." She said, as she slapped my shoulder slightly.

To be honest, I didn't even feel it whatsoever. With the body armor, and then my body's durability increasing like crazy, this was not something that could even cause me an itch.

But I still dramatically acted as if it hurt a lot, and moved my hand around.


"Ouch! Oh my god you assaulted me. Now you're going to have to compensate me!" I exclaimed in a dramatic fashion that would put most actors to shame.

"Pffffft." Serena began to laugh, and right as I turned my head slightly, I felt 2 arms wrap mine, and she leaned her head onto my shoulder.

"There. Now it should all be better." She replied.

I felt my head malfunctioning and my heartbeat speed up like crazy.


My face got really hot and I felt like all the alcohol was reaching my head.

"Steel, a little help." I pleaded, to which I felt the Turbo Energy inside of my body start to move around, which caused me to become slightly more sober.

I turned to see Serena quiver slightly before returning to normal. Hopefully she didn't realize anything about the Turbo energy…but who am I kidding, Steel has perfect control.

"How about we get out of here?" She asked, to which I nodded and we walked out of the bar.

It was pretty late at night, but after walking for a couple of blocks there were a couple of street vendors we could buy food from.

And that was how our night continued for a while longer, as we ate, walked around and continued to eat more food.

I was actually very happy Steel decided to respect my privacy and not be a talkative ass robot.

While I love my summons, at the end of the day, it seems like I missed human interaction.

I never knew how interactions with the opposite sex felt, and I have to say it was really nice. It was nice to hang out with Serena.

Halfway through our hotdog eating competition, Serena got a phone call.


"Pause!" She said, as she wiped her hands from any sauce.

"Nope, your loss that I can catch up now." I said as I continued to eat, but my super senses allowed me to pick up her entire conversation,

"What is it? I am busy." Serena said as she tried to talk and eat at the same time.


"Serena come over to my place now I have an emergency." The girl on the other side said.

"Now? Blaire, I am in the middle of a date." Serena said, and gave me a side glance and a slight smile.

"I don't care that you are whoring yourself out, this is an emergency and you said you would be there for me throughout college!" The girl, now identified as Blair, said.

"Fine!" Serena said in extreme annoyance, as she cut the phone call and set her phone down.

I also stopped eating and just waited for her to talk.

"Lucas, this has been fun but I have to go now." She said while sighing and picking up her stuff.

"That's fine, I understand." I said, as I stood up and began to call for a taxi.

"Thank you for understanding. I will make it up to you." She said as she also stood up.


"No you don't have to, I get it. Emergencies happen." 

"I know I don't have to, but I want to." She said, as the taxi came over, and I opened the door for her.

She then hesitated and turned around.

She seemed to be expecting something, and my mind began to wonder about what she wanted.

I didn't want to make any assumptions lest I ruin what has been a fairly good day so far, and I had also begun to sober up so I didn't have the 'don't think just do,' mindset anymore.

I saw her move her hand in my direction.


Time seemed to slow down for me as I felt the Turbo Energy run rampant inside of me, Steel not bothering to control it at all.

"LUCAS! INCOMING!" Steel shouted inside of my head, as I instantly felt myself sober up and turned around to see what seemed like a massive…forest, rushing in my direction??!!

As I sobered up, I realized that Serena was still infront of me, so I quickly shoved her inside and slabbed the door before she could react.

"Drive!" I shouted at the driver, who thankfully had quick reactions and moved promptly.

I myself jumped in the opposite direction of the massive growing forest as well, narrowly avoiding the attack.

"What the fuck is that?" I asked Steel, as I continued running, but I tried to run within human limits since it would be weird that I could run as fast as most basic cars.

"I don't know, but there seems to be waves of what Tom previously classified as Dark-Matter coming from those trees…Lucas, you need to access your suits, that forest is no joke!" Steel warned inside of my mind.


As I was running, I looked behind me to see the streets destroyed, vehicles and lampposts all being obliterated and people panicking as they ran away as fast as they could.

"There's an alley to your right, I already fried all the cameras in this street so you're fine." Steel told me, and I immediately sprinted into the alley.


I channeled my Turbo energy to its max, and as I did, I also felt a surge of adrenaline hit my body and my body began to levitate because of the Turbo Energy,


My entire body turned into pure energy for an instant, and Steel came out of my chest to reorganize the body armor.

I watched as my armor became bulkier and I felt my physical strength surge to new heights.
