38 Wrath

Isaac stood tall, his grin unwavering, as he faced the remaining five members of the Hexagon. The atmosphere crackled with a mix of ferocity and bloodlust from his adversaries.

The leader stared at Isaac without saying a word. He had dismissed what he considered to be a weakling and he had paid the price.

"You're going to regret that. Getting my man with a cheap shot? I can't let that slide." Said the leader as the red-haired female clung to him, scowling at Isaac.

"Enough talking. Get to it already." After saying this, the leader looked at one of his men, giving him a slight nod.

"Don't get cocky." Said the man in the bodysuit as he stepped forward. He walked toward his teammate and swiftly grabbed hold of one of the twins with heavy gear, and in the blink of an eye, they vanished from their position. Just as quickly, they reappeared behind Isaac.

"Teleportation? No wonder they were able to get here so fast." Thought Isaac, his mind working quickly, deducing the nature of their power.

The twin, now behind Isaac, raised his empty hand, and in an instant, a gun materialised as he pulled the trigger. Isaac effortlessly dodged the shot, though he couldn't help but be surprised by the twin's ability. Before he could counterattack, the two vanished once more, leaving Isaac momentarily alone.

"He just summoned the gun out of nowhere." Thought Isaac with a straight face.

Suddenly, the both of them once again appeared from thin air, this time directly above Isaac. The heavily armed twin now wielded a giant machine gun, ready to unleash a storm of bullets upon Isaac.

"Did he not just see me dodge the previous bullet?" Thought Isaac, prepared to leap at them. However, before he could, he felt something coming toward him. In the same way he was able to sense Ghost with his Qi sense, he also felt another attack coming from behind him.

Sensing the imminent danger, Isaac swiftly evaded the onslaught, narrowly avoiding the lethal hail of bullets and the sneak attack. He scanned his surroundings, searching for the source of the lingering danger he had sensed. His eyes fell upon a contraption protruding from the ground, shooting what looked to be plasma ropes that threatened to immobilise him, maybe more.

Isaac noticed the second twin who clearly had a craving for chips, standing with his hands extended.

"Please, don't forget me. That would be rude. I may not look like it but I shouldn't be looked down upon." He said with a peculiar voice. It was a voice one would have after waking from a deep sleep. Or one that would be expected of an extremely lazy individual.

"Yeah, you control laser stuff. Who cares." Dismissed Isaac, prompting the twin to show some emotion for the first time, as evidenced by his changed voice.

"It's called Technopathy. Don't you wonder how this syndicate was ever able to thrive in dealing weapons? With my ability and my brother's creation power, paired with Victor's intelligent mind, we became unstoppable." Gloated the twin, clearly proud of his work.

"Intelligent mind, huh? You must be a real suck-up to praise someone who's using you." Stated Isaac, making the twin grit his teeth.

"Oliver, calm down…" Before the big bulky man could finish his words, Oliver shot out both his arms as countless contraptions that looked similar to futuristic turrets, emerged from all over the dining hall. The ceiling, floor and walls were all covered with turrets that were loaded with different weapons.

"I made it a quest to make sure I could never be outdone in this mansion. Especially if there were ever any uninvited guests. This whole manor is my fortress." He said with a grin. Without warning, all the turrets started to fire miscellaneous weapons at Isaac. Pressurised air bullets, plasma ropes, electrified metal arrows and even rockets.

"Tempest: Galestep."

The Hexagon slowly started to change their facial expression to one of frustration mixed with shock, all while Isaac fashioned a straight face and didn't even break a sweat. With deft movements, he evaded every attack, his agility and precision allowing him to dodge with ease. Despite the overwhelming odds, not a single strike found its mark.

"We only have one chance, make it count." The bodysuited man whispered as Isaac noticed he and the armed twin disappeared from their position.

As Isaac found momentary respite amongst the onslaught of projectiles, the bodysuited man and the heavily armed twin reappeared behind Isaac. The twin now held a colossal bazooka, unlike anything Isaac had ever seen. Without hesitation, the twin fired the rocket, but to everyone's surprise, Isaac vanished from his position in a blurring motion, no one able to pick up a trace of what happened, leaving the projectile to soar through the air and crash into the wall, unleashing destruction with a thunderous boom. The wall crumbled as the debris flew everywhere.

The smoke slightly shrouded the area as everyone present tried their best to ignore the ringing in their ears. One could smell the scent of smoke and dust as the next room became visible through the large hole in the wall.

"Speed? Teleportation? How did he just do that?" Asked the body-suited man as the twin looked around, clearly not being much of a talker.

"Tempest: Axe."

Confusion filled the faces of the two allies as they tried to comprehend what had just transpired. But before they could react, a devastating blow struck the bodysuited man's head, rendering him instantly unconscious. His eyes rolled back into his skull as he crumpled to the ground, defeated.

Isaac stood over the fallen foe, his presence commanding and enigmatic. The onlookers were left dumbfounded, their minds struggling to grasp the sequence of events.

"His speed increased. He jumped over the projectile and landed an axe kick on Noah as he came down." Deduced the leader inwardly with a stoic yet disturbed face.

Despite being taken aback, the armed twin still managed to summon an RPG and point it at Isaac. However, in another display of his mysterious abilities, Isaac vanished once again. This time, he reappeared directly below the heavily armed twin, delivering a swift blow to his stomach. The twin's eyes widened in shock before he too, succumbed to unconsciousness.

"Brother!" Yelled Oliver, unable to do anything.

After a second, silence descended upon the area as Isaac stood above his foes. He did have to use more Qi than he had done all day, however, it was still far from his best. All he could do was hope the leader could bring the best out of him.

"So are you just gonna watch or are you gonna fight?"

***

In a familiar white spacious room, one could see a black and blond-haired man kneeling as he used his peculiar-looking sword to support himself. He bled from multiple wounds on his face as one could see a fashionable man wipe some blood off his knuckles with a handkerchief.

"You never bothered to learn how to properly use that sword. Like a monkey given a gun, you barely know anything about what you're doing." Mocked Victor with a tinge of distaste in his words.

Despite Jay's usually snappy returns to such comments, he stayed quiet, most likely because he struggled to catch his breath. Although he didn't say anything, Jay knew he was right. He spent his life carrying out stealthy assassinations and it was easily accomplished due to his sword.

Before Isaac, he had never met someone that could pose a challenge to him. Most normal humans died instantly when faced with his beams. Despite fearing the Hexagon and speaking radically about them, he had only ever heard stories and had never fought them.

"I saw the potential in you from the moment I laid eyes on you. You had such ripe talent and with me to back you, you could have become extraordinary. We could have ruled this world together. It's a shame you ended up being a worthless, ungrateful orphan without the slightest bit of knowledge on how to properly wield your ability." A few seconds went by as no words were spoken. As Victor dropped his handkerchief to the ground, he suddenly ducked with swift agility, dodging a blue blade that swung by him.

Jay unleashed a flurry of swings upon the man. However, despite his appearance, the old man moved with agile nimbleness. With trained precision, he deflected and parried the blade without breaking a sweat, all while fashioning a smirk on his face. Jay would step back to blast a beam, however, he would receive a kick to the side of the face, making him stumble and causing the beam to retract.

"He's considerably more skilled. I can't fill that wide gap, so I'll overwhelm him with speed." Despite thinking of this plan, it was easier said than done. Jay's movements started to slow down. The constant aimless attacks and injuries were starting to weigh on him. Victor took this opportunity to grab Jay by the back of the head and smash his elbow into his face. Despite Jay groaning in pain, Victor refused to back down and he kneed the blond-haired man in the gut. He followed up with a swift sweep, knocking Jay to the ground.

"If only I was stronger…" Thought Jay.

"Stop this foolishness." Said Victor, buttoning his suit.

"What good are these powers if they won't help me when I need it the most?"

"Come, my boy." Said Victor as he extended his hand while Jay laid on his side, profusely bleeding to the point where one could smell it. His eyes were white and his breathing was heavy.

"No. It's me. I'm not good enough."

"Join me. We will do great things. As a bonus, I'll promise not to harm Amelia…" Before the man could finish, he felt piercing pains fall onto his body, as if he was being cut a dozen times. Without wasting time, he jumped back and assessed his body, only to find himself with multiple deep cuts on his body, his limbs and clothes painted in blood. It had all happened in a second, yet the damage that had befallen him was so great.

"Well, would you look at that? Like I've said, I've always admired your grit, Jayson. It just might be the same reason why you will surprise the whole world one day." Victor said with a smirk, standing in a fighting position, his aura much more blood-lusted than before. However, it couldn't be compared to the demon before him.

Beside the fallen Jay, floated a small dagger that had a similar design to his sword. Its sleek edges and bright colours made it look extremely unique. Not to mention the fact that it flew in the air with no support, as if it were being held up by a ghost.

Jay picked himself up from the floor as one could see his rage-induced eyes, similar to the ones a rabid wild animal would have. No emotion, no morality and no sense of self. Eyes that depicted true wrath with only one goal. To massacre.

"I'll kill you."
