31 Departure

In what looked to be a jail cell with a giant and strong door, a metallic sink and toilet, a metal bed with a thin mattress and an unusually sauna-like room, someone could be seen standing in it all. The humidity and steam were so potent that one could visibly see it in the air. It was enough to make one sweat profusely after a minute.

Inside it all, a young boy with freckles and black hair could be seen in a peculiar position. The kid had an extremely impressive physique, every muscle looking as if it were a separate organism. His arms, abs, chest, legs, back and every other muscle bulged with intensity as if they had been worked to the maximum throughout the years. His lean and toned physique was enough to make any man jealous.

Currently, the boy had his eyes closed as he shook slightly, sweat pouring down his face as he breathed rhythmically and intensely. Inside his body, the same boy could be seen standing in a vast, dark space, floating before a giant white hovering ball of light as he smiled at the dramatic increase in the size of the ball. It was a calm, shimmering sphere, brimming with potent energy, looking as if it had reached its limit.

"This is it. The final stretch." Said the boy internally as his focus became unparalleled. After a few moments, the boy focused on his Qi, compacting it and forcefully reducing its size. The boy shook uncontrollably, seconds away from losing his ability to stay in the position he was in. However, that couldn't compare to the ball of Qi in his dantian, vibrating violently, ready to burst at any moment.

Every fibre in the boy's body ached and screamed in pain, his body seconds away from crumbling at the immense pressure he was faced with. However, he knew with certainty, deep in his gut, that if he was unsuccessful in containing the ball, it would implode, destroying his dantian.

As the seconds passed, one could see the ball condensing and becoming smaller. The more he compacted it, the more volatile and dangerous it became. He could barely stand, his feet aching and barely keeping him up as it took every drop of willpower he had to keep going. He went on for minutes that felt like decades as he could feel every atom in his body. From the cells in his being to the sweat that poured down his face, the boy felt every single component that ran through his body as it struggled to keep up with his unwavering determination.

As time went on, the boy finally felt the ball become more calm and tranquil. It had greatly reduced in size but the energy that was compacted in it was unfathomable. The immense Qi had been forcefully contained, making the ball buzz with power, a warm feeling exuding from it. The light had also increased to blinding levels, making the boy squint his eyes unknowingly.

The boy heaved as he relaxed, finally able to feel a sense of peace. As he thought this, the boy witnessed the ball start to move. Before he knew it, the compressed ball flew and blurring speeds to the roof of the dantian. The boy watched as he smiled. The ball had reached the roof of the dantian as it stopped, hovering above everything, shining light upon the once dark space, a single star that stood as a symbol. A symbol indicating his newfound achievement.

Without saying a word, the boy opened his eyes as he stood up, quiet as he took a deep breath.

"Yeah!" He yelled while laughing, a wide grin on his face as he shot his hands in the air, jumping in joy.

However, he was given no time to celebrate. In the next second, he heard his door being pulled open, the metallic rust creaking loudly as it opened.

Meanwhile, behind the door stood Jay, Harley, Waller and countless SWAT officers, heavily geared.

"Finally. Being trapped in that cell every day is torture. I didn't even have anyone to talk to the past week. The kid's been ignoring me every time I tried to talk to him." Complained Harley as Jay stood with an unenthusiastic face. As a SWAT officer went to open the door of a familiar prisoner, Waller stood with a straight face, waiting for the door to be opened.

As the door swung open, everyone was immediately assaulted with a gust of steam, making them instinctively squint their eyes. They covered their face and peeked through the steam, sweat starting to pour down their face. They heard a few footsteps and soon, a silhouette appeared from the steam, walking toward them.

Isaac appeared from the mist, drenched in sweat as his clothes became see-through, exposing his defined and toned muscles. Although they could all see it was Isaac, they couldn't help but feel as if something was different about him. Other than his hair which had grown a few centimetres and his body which looked more muscular, something else was off.

To them, whatever stood before them wasn't Isaac. Instead, they felt as if they were being stared down by a predator. He walked toward them, exuding an aura of superiority and power, giving everyone the feeling as if death was standing before them, ready to grasp at their hearts with his cold hands. A cold shiver ran down their spine despite the humid temperature that made them sweat.

Everything went quiet as they stared at Isaac. For once, Harley was lost for words as her unsteady breath was the only thing to be heard. Jay gritted his teeth as he stared down whatever was before him, his hands shivering. Despite Waller's usual straight face, a hint of shock could be noticed from her demeanour as she widened her eyes slightly.

The rest of the SWAT officers held their breath, unable to blink as they all felt an urge to fire their weapons, however, they couldn't. Perhaps it was fear, or perhaps they knew their bullets would be ineffective. Either way, they stood, waiting for their deaths as their minds went blank, the only thing left was the innate survival instinct that was forcefully awoken.

After a few seconds, Isaac looked up with a wide grin, laughing as he spoke.

"Hey guys! What's up?!" He said cheerfully, snapping everyone out of their trance. For a few seconds, no words were spoken as everyone came back to their senses.

"Is your room a sauna or something? That's a good idea, I think I'll ask for that next time." Said Harley, showing off her short attention span as she decided to carry on with her day. Everyone else cleared their heads, confused about what just happened.

"I knew it. Some sort of mist has been shrouding my camera these days. Is this an ability?" Said Waller internally, quickly going back to her usual demeanour.

"You leave now. Move." Said Waller simply as everyone started to walk in the same direction. Meanwhile, Harley moved closer to Isaac as she stared closely at his face.

"How has your hair grown so much in just a week? And since when were you so ripped?" She asked, making Isaac look at himself up and down.

"It has?" While they talked and moved, Isaac noticed they weren't walking toward the auditorium like they usually would, instead, they took an unfamiliar route. Since Isaac had come here, he made it a mission to constantly memorise this facility. That knowledge might be useful one day.

They continued to walk as Harley rambled on about random events and soon, they exited the building they were in and were met with a yard with countless individuals in camouflage outfits, presumably army-associated, a handful of similarly designed cars, but most noticeably metal fences covering the area they were in. However, this wasn't the first thing Isaac noticed. Instead, it was the location they were in. Isaac looked past the fences, noticing the vast and endless sand, surrounding them till the eye could see.

Gusts of dust with specs of sand were carried by the wind as Isaac slightly squinted. The dry wasteland they were in gave Isaac a new perspective on things. Being in this location, it was going to be much harder to escape if he tried.

As they continued to walk, they were met with the rest of the Suicide Squad, standing as they and the surrounding soldiers stared each other down.

"Mr Hale, allow me to introduce you to Colonel Rick Flag. He'll be leading this mission." Waller pointed at a man with a styled goatee and cap holding an assault rifle. Isaac looked at the man who wore a face of dissatisfaction as if he was annoyed by something.

"You're new here so allow me to catch you up. In your necks, from an injection you got, is a nanite explosive. It's the size of a rice grain but it's as powerful as a hand grenade." Isaac rubbed his neck upon hearing this.

"When the hell did they inject me?" He thought, remembering the day he was captured and hit with a tranquillizer dart.

"You disobey me, you die. You try to escape, you die. You otherwise irritate or vex me and guess what?" Isaac stared at the man with a straight face as he spoke.

"I die?" He said with a raised eyebrow, prompting Flag to scoff.

"Exactly." He responded.

"Your pep talks still suck. I told you to study Phil Jackson." Said Floyd as Flag stared at him silently.

"Your shit is over there. Suit up!" He yelled, walking away with his small group of soldiers. Isaac looked to where the man was pointing, noticing a few big black cases lying on the floor. Everyone walked toward a specific case, leaving one in the open.

Isaac walked toward it, opening it, only to be met with a familiar set of clothes. His button-up white shirt, black suit pants, tie and sneakers were all folded neatly inside the case. Atop it all, laid a familiar gorilla mask. Isaac couldn't help but smile at the sight. Mainly because he would finally be out of this thin and poorly made white prison outfit of his.

After a few minutes, Isaac stood as he finished tying his shoes. He took a deep breath, feeling a sense of belonging inside his clothes. He looked at his gorilla mask as he thought of whether to wear it or not. Despite his initial dislike of the mask, it had somewhat grown on him.

He put the mask back in the case and closed it. He initially bought it to hide his identity, but he had a feeling there was no need for that anymore. As he thought this, he heard multiple footsteps walking toward him. He turned around and was met with the Suicide Squad, suited in their gear and ready to leave.

Floyd was now armed with an assault rifle and his signature firearm attached to his wrist, as well as his white mask. George now hid countless boomerangs under his trenchcoat, truly living up to his name. Harley stood with her usual blue and red leather coat, large mallet and black gun with a white handle and golden trimmings.

A further detail Isaac hadn't bothered to note previously was the rounds of the gun being labelled with the words 'Hate' and 'Love'. Jay stood in a simple geared outfit and Nanaue stood wearing nothing but pants. As Isaac looked around, he looked toward Colonel Flag and spoke.

"How are we going to get to wherever we need to go?" He asked, looking around and only being met with sand reaching out to the horizon. Flag said nothing as he looked up in the air as if he was waiting for something. Isaac slowly followed his gaze, a face of surprise and even amusement creeping up on his face upon the sight.

"A Jet?"
