Chapter 71: Blonde

The whole day, I was busy with administrative work at this LuthorArm branch and hiring employees who had suitable qualifications.

There are some of the employees come from other cities.

When everything was finally done, I turned to Shinoa... to find a suitable school for her.

She is more than capable of handling university programs, and I wasn't worried about her academic performance.

There were many universities for her to choose from: Metropolis University, Gotham University, Harvard, Massachusetts, Stanford, and many others, but her choice was... somewhat strange.

"Why Gotham?"

I asked when she voiced her choice.

"Here, there are constant fights, lots of bad guys who need to be beaten up. And I'm used to fights."

Shinoa grinned.

"So, you want to become a hero."

I summed up.

"Well... the first girl-hero of Gotham, now that sounds good. Are you going to keep an eye on me?"

Shinoa approached me closely, clearly expecting me to kiss her.

 "Hey, what's this for?"

Shinoa pouted when I smacked her on the buttocks.

"Although I even liked it..."

"Just don't become a masochist."

I rolled my eyes for a moment at this audacious girl.

"Gotham is Gotham. It won't be difficult to arrange things for you. They'll place you in a university once you pass all the necessary tests."

I waved my hand at her.

I expected her to choose this city precisely because she wasn't used to the "peacefulness" of ordinary cities.

She was used to vampires attacking at any moment and to Apocalypse Riders roaming the cities and destroying people.

The most criminal city in the USA would suit her best especially considering that there are super-powerful freaks here.

Cortana has already prepared documents for Shinoa so there should be no problems with applying to university especially if she does it on behalf of the Luthors.

I returned to the books of magic to Zatanna, with whom I also trained in various magical practices.

In the chat, there were often discussions about what the girls planned to do next.

If Erina has already completed the exam and met the "main character" of her world.

Rias is still only on the way to the beginning of the "plot" of the anime.

Rias is unsure what to do with Issei since he has behaved strangely lately.

Koneko no longer feels the smell of dragon from him, which is very suspicious.

On the other hand, Winter continues trying to settle the relations between the Atlas Council and General Ironwood.

After all, what he missed about the culprit in the recent attack on Vale could not damage his reputation.

Jacques Schnee is also trying to worsen the situation.

Winter told about her father, and it was easy to feel her dislike for him even hatred for him.

Hermione is not idle either and has already immersed herself headlong into the magic of her world.

She showed broadcasts of various new magics and even worked with runes.

She has moved away from "The Professor is always right and must be blindly trusted" to "I want to study more magic. I'm interested."

Hermione even managed to break into the forbidden section and began studying books there.

Shinoa even laughed about her and called her "A Naughty Girl."

...

A couple of days later.

I was already in Atlantic City to take care of LuthorChemical, and Lena also found time to go there with me to make sure everything was working.

When nobody expected any problems, Cortana reported a plane crash near Metropolis where the engines began to fail.

There's Superman there, so he'll figure it out... but this time, it wasn't him, and I decided to intervene.

"Hmm, indeed not Superman."

I muttered, hovering in the air a kilometer above the ground.

The dents below indicate that a young blonde carried more than three hundred passengers in the plane and was trying to stop it.

This blonde in a white top once again tried to stop the fall, but only made it worse with her strength.

She ended up turning it slightly while causing the wing to simply tear off in the gusts of wind.

It was precisely at that moment that I caught her when I found myself here, and she heard me clearly as she turned towards me with panic on her face.

She heard me, and even though she was at a large distance and flying near the burning plane, her eyes widened when she saw my figure standing in the sky.

However, the plane still drew her attention as there were about nine hundred meters left to the ground.

"Oh, no-no-no..."

She panicked flew around the plane and grabbed it from the side to prevent it from spinning in the wind... and immediately literally tore off a part of it.

Then, I decided to intervene and levitate above her efforts.

"Strength does not equal intelligence, huh?"

I stretched out my hand to stop the plane in the air with magic.

It was amusing to watch how the expression on her face changed from pure panic to shock.

"H-How? Who are you?"

She panicked while hiding behind the plane after looking at her outfit perhaps not expecting that anyone would be able to see her clearly or anything else.

"I'm the one who didn't let a hundred people die because of one silly blonde."

"I'm not silly!"

She said.

"I was trying to help..."

"Apparently, something went wrong, huh?"

I smirked.

"You still need to measure your strength against the objects around you."

Then I waved my hand and literally grew a new wing for the plane to replace the lost one.

"..."

She widened her eyes even more.

"You... are you some kind of magician?"

"Uh-huh, and are you from Krypton?"

I asked her, and she appeared next to me instantly.

"Are you from Krypton too? Are you like me? Do you know anything about the house or the survivors?"

She asked questions that were very important to her.

"Calm down, let's first deliver the plane to the airport. But for the record - no, I'm not from Krypton."

I said when noticing a slight disappointment in her eyes, and I even knew who she was.

"Do you want to finish what you started?"

I looked at the entire plane.

"I'm not sure... last time, it didn't work out."

She furrowed her brows and looked uncertainly at the plane.

"But I'll try..."

She said while looking uncertainly at me and then she flew to the bottom of the plane and gently grabbed onto it.

Now that the plane was in the air and she wasn't so scared, she was able to hold it without causing any damage.

"See, you're doing great."

I encouraged her who looked no more than twenty years old and probably even younger.

My words clearly urged her into action, and she flew to one of the airports in Metropolis to gently set the plane down there.

"Cortana..."

I reached out knowing she could hear me through the transmitter.

"Yes."

Cortana replied.

"Are you busy?"

"Master, I'm very multitasking, so do you need something?"

"Look up information about Clark Kent from Smallville and his family."

I asked, and seconds later, Cortana spoke again.

"Jonathan Kent, a fifty-five-year-old man living in Smallville, is married to Martha Kent, a fifty-year-old woman. They have a son Clark Kent, who currently works at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. In addition, they have a niece named Kara Kent, who appeared a year ago. The records for this Kara showed up shortly. There was no information about her before that."

"Thank you, Cortana."

I thanked her who had become Lena's main assistant and had replaced Mercy.

Mercy was transferred to another department so she wouldn't spoil our mood with her behavior.

She's still very good at what she does.

Meanwhile, Kara flew to me at a fairly high altitude from the Earth.

I was currently in a hastily created magical costume with a tiger mask on my face... why not? After all, I was in a hurry.

Kara awkwardly hovered next to me unsure how to start the conversation.

"Um, hey,"

She waved her hand not knowing where to look.

"So, what made you decide to catch the plane? Are you trying to imitate your cousin?"

I asked causing her to furrow her brows amusingly.

"No! I just couldn't watch it... I could see and hear the screams perfectly, that's all."

After gathering her courage, Kara turned away from me and looked me straight in the eyes.

"So, who are you?"

"Have you found the courage?"

I smiled.

"No need to be nervous like that."

I removed my mask with alchemy.

"I just wanted to check who it was that looked like Superman and I met you. What if you were a villain, and I had to stop you?"

"Stop me?"

Kara snorted.

"Who would stop me? I haven't seen anything here that could harm me yet."

Kara declared confidently. In fact, she wasn't wrong and there wasn't much that could physically harm them.

Those who could usually didn't interfere with the world often to keep the possibility of meeting them.

"Oh, the young girl of Krypton already considers herself above others?"

I teased her.

"I don't think that at all! It's just... I can't help but notice the obvious difference between us."

Kara tried to explain herself.

"And you still haven't explained who you are!"

She accused while poking her finger at me as she flew closer.

"I'm a mage but in fact archmage."

I added. Indeed, I was clearly an archmage purely in magical and physical terms.

Still, not all archmages are equal in power; someone like Giovanni Zatara as an archmage is powerful, but I think I've clearly surpassed him...

"So there are mages in the world?"

Kara marveled.

"In this vast universe, you can find just about anyone."

I shook my head.

"Alright, Kara, go back to where you came from, I still have things to do. I don't know if the survivors from your home planet exist."

 I waved my hand.

"How do you know my name?"

Kara immediately tensed.

"You're not hiding that pretty face of yours, so it's not that hard."

I shrugged.

"Oh, here comes your cousin."

My mask reappeared on my face, and Superman appeared beside me.

"Kara! I told you to be careful! Hi?"

Superman noticed me.

"New costume design?"

I observed.

"I have several..."

Superman replied, still staring at me especially paying attention to my feet to see how I was standing in the air.

"Alright, boy scout, I've got things to do. Good luck with your heroic deeds. And watch out for the yellow snow."

I pointed at him and moved back.

A bit of commotion between the future Supergirl and the current Superman.

It was a productive day.

I managed to analyze the bodies of the Kryptonians with magic and confirmed that they absorb solar energy like batteries.

Clark contains much more energy from the sun than Kara which can be easily explained by the fact that he has lived here all his life, unlike Kara.

Their muscle fibers are much more advanced than humans, which allows them to engage in physical activity for much longer.

This applies to all aspects of the Kryptonians' bodies and their cells... they're like reactors constantly absorbing energy from the yellow star.

I thought of acquiring their genes and becoming a Kryptonian myself, but I know about Doomsday who also has Kryptonian genes.

I'm wary of that for now.

In addition, I learn more about life, the world, magic, and gods.

I realize that it's not that great of a power especially when I think about their weaknesses.

...

[3rd POV]

"Kara, who was that?"

Clark asked while trying to make sense of what he saw.

In his life, he had never seen people capable of flying except Kara.

However, he had only recently taken on the role of Superman, so perhaps there are still many secrets hidden in the world.

"A mage?"

Kara said while looking around.

"Did he really just vanish? Magic..."

"Kara, I told you, your time has not yet come... the world is not ready to accept two of us at once."

"What is that even supposed to mean?"

Kara rebelled sharply, clenching her fists.

"You've been watching over me since I arrived on this planet! Our... my parents might still be alive out there!"

Kara pointed upwards and shot up into the sky sharply.

She wasn't afraid of the cold or the heat despite what she was wearing, so she and Superman flew into the Earth's atmosphere without any problems.

"And we're here... with humans."

She said sadly while looking at the stars.

"Kara... I understand that it's hard for you..."

"You understand nothing, Kal-El."

Kara looked him in the eyes.

"You're more of an Earthling than a Kryptonian. I remember my world, I remember my parents, it's like it was yesterday... I just wanted to try to distract myself from these thoughts, so I intervened... I wanted to help."

"Ah, now many people saw you at the airport..."

Superman said while hovering next to her.

"But still, I didn't know there were magicians or mages."

"Apparently, you don't know everything."

Kara chuckled.

"I wonder if we'll meet again?"

Kara mused aloud.

Kara thoughtfully

'Maybe I need to perform another heroic deed? He's a mage, he'll probably find me again."'

"Martha will scold you for your actions."

Clark smirked.

Their parents know how strong he is and that he can't be harmed, but they still worry about him.

...

"Are you sure?"

In the dark room shrouded in darkness, the majestic voice of someone accustomed to giving orders resonated.

"Yes, this Luthor is a better fighter than I am..."

Lady Shiva replied discontentedly while kneeling.

"But not for long..."

"Hmm, my daughter, it seems you were right."

The man said he was seated on something resembling a dark throne.

"But I was leaning towards Batman's idea of becoming the heir to the Demon's head, but Luthor..."

Suddenly, Talia Al Ghul sounded.

She wanted to meet her "savior" again.

"Did he beat you up like a cheap hooker?"

Talia smirked while looking at Lady Shiva with amusement.

"Don't make me wipe the floor with you again. You're lucky I respect your father,"

She replied with her expression unchanged.
