58 Chapter 58: Alliance

...

[3rd POV]

The nobles usually backed up their arrogance with words and actions.

After all, they were stronger, faster, and more skilled than humans in many respects.

They were all furious because someone could easily kill them and hurt their self-esteem at the heart of vampire political power.

Especially since this someone looked like a human... the kind they called cattle.

"Are you just going to stare at me?"

Anthony tilted his head and said that her power and authority could easily crush most vampires in the world.

"Ahem, a dozen of you know me... remember when I said if you raise weapons against me, you'll die?"

Tony smiled, and many vampires felt a chill run down their spines.

Those words were enough to make Krul Tepes run so fast that her tiny feet broke the floor as she went after Tony who was disturbing the peace.

The vampires just watched as no one dared to get in the way of the fight.

Those who had already encountered the disturber were oddly glad they hadn't drawn weapons and just stood there with everyone else.

"She's fast, isn't she?"

Ferid smirked and stood next to Crowley.

"She's the Third Progenitor, she's supposed to be... and her strikes are painful."

Crowley ran his hand over his side.

"What will you do if our human monster-stranger loses?

Ferid asked with curiosity.

"Stop playing with me. Krul won't forgive me so easily..."

Crowley looked somewhat tense towards the battle, and it was hard to see what was happening because of the dust.

He could hear the sound of the collision of hands capable of easily piercing tank armor.

"Uh-oh, don't worry, even our... queen has flaws."

Ferid said, and it was clear he didn't really consider her his queen.

"And it seems she's losing..."

...

[Anthony's POV]

After a special stance blocked another blow, my fist struck right where a human liver would be.

I felt as if I had broken several of her ribs and threw her a couple of meters aside.

At that moment, I wasn't relying on being physically stronger to win the fight, and she was really strong for a vampire.

She has a denser structure of muscles, bones, skin, and everything else.

Regular vampires might be the same as Atlanteans in terms of physical condition, but Progenitors would definitely outclass them all.

"Tsk."

Krul Tepes said, with blood slowly dripping from her lip.

"You're very strong, but you're not a Seraphim."

Krul said this while standing five meters away from me.

The dust from the fast-paced battle had settled, and everyone could see me unharmed and Krul wounded.

"No, I'm not a Seraphim. Surrender, Krul Tepes. Judging by your aura, I can tell you're a decent leader and... a being who doesn't particularly enjoy torturing people. I'd even say that you'd make a good leader despite your arrogance."

"Ah, finally someone like you understands."

Krul's corners of her lips twitched slightly, showing that she liked my words, but then her face became serious again.

"You came to my city and killed my people, and you expect me to surrender? What have you done with Mika?"

"You do the same with humans."

I raised an eyebrow and hinted at their obvious hypocrisy.

"Do you mean the blond guy who was like your favorite pet? He's fine with Yuichiro. You want to know about your little brother, right?"

"What do you know about him?"

Kul's eyes dangerously flashed.

"I know where he is."

I said casually and caught Krul's hand as she tried to grab me by the throat, then I smashed it and kicked her.

"Do you want it the hard way?"

I said, and vampires screamed with a symbol of the moon on their foreheads, and they began to explode.

After that, the nanorobots that entered their bodies started emitting ultraviolet radiation from inside several of them.

"It works."

I said this while looking at the burning and screaming vampires. There were even more of them here, but hundreds of them were in pain.

"Stop it!"

Krul shouted, but many vampires had turned to ashes. They weren't as strong as the Progenitors.

"Stop! Enough!"

Krul continued to shout while standing and watching her people burn.

"I asked Crowley to tell you to surrender, but your arrogance didn't let you do it."

I said calmly, standing in front of the "queen".

"These are just nanorobots reproducing ultraviolet radiation; your body simply can't handle it. You may have outside protection from the sun... but not inside."

I said while exhaling, then created a large throne for myself and sat on it.

"You're stronger than humans, faster, more durable, but almost empty. The only thing that reminds you of your old feelings is the thirst for blood. In addition, even normal sunlight can kill such "magnificent" creatures."

 I smirked at the end.

"Crowley, how do you feel?"

"Um, right now? I'm terrified."

Crowley admitted that he had already forgotten what it was like to feel.

"I'm not used to these feelings yet, and I don't quite understand what exactly I'm feeling... but I feel like it's fear... yeah."

"You'll get used to it; you've been without emotions for many years. If the hormones in your body were to kick in full force, then you might go crazy from the "new" sensations."

I said.

"I can see from your face that you no longer want to attack, so let's go to the mansion and talk. And yes... I sense several hundred people here; if you try to kill me, you'll die."

Looking around at the hundreds of vampires and nobles standing here, I wanted to crush them immediately with my will and magic while still sitting on the throne.

I didn't think it would take long, but all of them except Crowley fell to the ground as something that looked impossible to sink hit them into the ground.

The oppressive feeling lifted once I left, but many vampires still couldn't get up.

Their essence still felt what they had long forgotten... fear and being victims.

"I must admit, that wasn't fun."

Ferid spoke while getting up from the ground.

"He doesn't like me?"

"He just doesn't fall for your behavior, and apparently, he knows enough about you not to take his eyes off you."

Crowley remarked, stretching his neck.

"Hmph."

Ferid "pouted".

"Should we follow him too?"

"Probably."

Crowley shrugged.

"What do you know about my family member, Ashera Tepes?"

Krul Tepes immediately demanded while glaring at me.

"Can you tone down the arrogance right now because you're not the one in place who can ask questions with that tone."

I replied to her.

I feel like I'll return to being an arrogant snob too... The main thing is not to have an old cultivator relative and not to start shouting, "You courting death!"

"What do you know about him?!"

Krul didn't lower her tone, and apparently, it was very important to her.

"He's alive, just doesn't remember you."

I said.

"Did you already inform the council about me?"

I decided to inquire.

"Yes."

Krul nodded and folded her arms across her chest.

"They've sent reinforcements. Within two days, Lest Karr will arrive. Ky Luc has also expressed a desire to come. And even the Second Urd Geales."

Krul decided to answer after all.

"Excellent."

I nodded.

"How well do you know the First Progenitor?"

"Who are you...?"

Krul stomped her foot and looked at me with confusion and suspicion.

"And where is my brother?!"

"The First Progenitor took him with him and left you..."

I said this while ignoring her question.

"You're angry at him, right? Even more... you despise him? That's why you made a deal with Mahiru Hiragi eight years ago, right?"

"..."

Krull fell silent.

"You're very well-informed, as much as I hate to admit it.

Krul sighed and thought about their memories together.

"Yes, I made a deal with her, and it was from her that I learned about the Seraphs of the End and that HE is using my brother."

Throughout all this time, Crowley and Ferid remained silent while trying to understand what was being discussed.

It seems they understood.

"Your brother, the demon Ashuramaru is in Yuichiro's sword, and you know that."

 I said.

"But you're interested in something else, right?"

"Clever."

Krul regained her composure.

"I'm still not entirely sure he's in that sword... but it should be. So... my brother is still there."

Krul said it with some hope.

"Yes, and he's still in danger because of the Hyakuya Sect like everyone else."

"And what do you propose? Do you think you can handle him?"

Krul raised an eyebrow with a smirk.

"He's older than all of us combined, and even those closest to him know next to nothing about him."

"Perhaps."

I didn't deny that outcome, but I didn't agree either.

"There are many vampires who hold a grudge against him. After all, he abandoned all of you for his experiments. Are you ready to form an alliance?"

Krul approached me and extended her hand... Now it's time to devise a plan.

She'll do anything to protect her brother, whom I can't help but respect.

I myself am not exactly eager to bring peace and justice, but I don't really like what the vampires here do to humans.

I wouldn't be here if this world couldn't help me grow.

The same goes for killing vampires; I already feel like a maniac... but I need it for me to grow.

Maybe there's even a weak god or its remnants here...

...

"I said everything would work out fine."

Shinoa told her squad as they rode the train to the center of Shibuya where they were initially located.

"What could Colonel Guren have said to the higher-ups?"

Yoichi expressed some doubt.

"I don't know, but the main thing is that we're not being attacked."

Kamizuki replied.

"Lieutenant Colonel Guren has a certain reputation and friends in higher-ups, and perhaps he came up with an excuse like it was an ambush on the general..."

Mitsuba uncertainly shared her version.

"The main thing is not to let our guard down."

Shinoa said it with a smile.

"Um, is it okay that we left Yuichiro with that vampire?"

Yoichi whispered quietly.

"That vampire is Mika, Yu's family, and Yuichiro trusts him... they're like brothers, so everything will be fine."

Shinoa reassured them and glanced at Chat.

Rias Gremory: Tony-kun was so domineering...

Winter Schnee: I think he's trying to adapt to the realities of the new world in his own way.

Rias Gremory: Perhaps... for him, all these vampires are like wandering demons to us. But maybe it's not all bad, and they're just lost creatures...

Winter Schnee: They use humans as food and treat them like cattle, and I wouldn't just leave all that behind either. I wouldn't stand a chance against the nobles because I could hardly watch Tony's battle with that Crowley guy, and he's supposedly as strong as the Seventh Progenitor.

Rias Gremory: Well, yes, they're physically strong.

Winter Schnee: Rias, do devils in your world use humans too? I mean, contracts, and then you take something important to them as payment...

Rias Gremory: No!

Rias Gremory: Those are completely different things! Perhaps it was like that during the reign of the old Satans, but now everything is different. The contract is beneficial for both parties. The human gets what they want within reasonable limits, and the demon gets an item with a portion of the human's soul energy.

Winter Schnee: But besides demons, there are other races.

Rias Gremory: It's a complicated issue. Fallen Angels can use humans in various ways, as we've seen in the anime of my world. But also different demons... in general, it all depends on the individual's personality, I suppose.

Winter Schnee: Understood.

"You're insane if you think this will work."

Krul spoke up after hearing my plans. We were alone in the negotiation hall.

"The Second Progenitor, Saito, has something called the "Sinful Key." If we gather as many of them as possible, it will help defeat the First."

I explained.

"Hm, the one who always followed the First? He decided to go against the First'?"

Krul was somewhat surprised.

"I think he just decided to show the "father" that he made a mistake when he abandoned him and everyone else. After all, it was he who created the Hyakuya Sect to oppose the Imperial Demon Army to which the First also contributed."

"So, in exchange for my help in your plans to destroy the First and then help humans... at least maintain neutrality, as you put it, you'll help my brother with his body and memories?"

Krul asked.

"Yes."

I nodded.

"I agree. You managed to restore Crowley's emotions... and you're clearly not human. A mere human can't be capable of what you are."

Krul smiled with a toothy grin.

"I've already betrayed the council, so I have nowhere else to fall. Can you tell me about yourself, Anthony?"

"Maybe, depending on how our deal goes and to start, I'll also return some of your emotions... at least a part of them."
