26 Chapter 26: Spar

Words: 2,306

...

Winter and I sat facing each other while the Bullhead flew toward the two airships.

"So, the general didn't tell you about the maidens?"

I decided to ask.

"No."

Winter replied in the same tone, but it seemed less cold this time.

"Well, that's understandable. But I think he'll tell you everything when we return because there's no reason to hide it anymore."

"..."

Winter's eyes twitched slightly showing her curiosity.

"How long have you been in the Atlas army?"

I decided to ask my next question.

"Long enough."

Winter replied.

"What happened in the chamber?"

Winter decided to ask her question too.

"Do you mean how I ensured she couldn't escape? I used magical seals."

A snow-white seal appeared on my palm. It didn't display any spells, but it was simply for demonstration.

"And I made it so her powers would feed the seals and strengthen the wall. That way, she won't be able to use much of her power and simply melt the walls."

"Magic?"

Winter's eyebrow twitched in disbelief.

"Oh, Winter, you don't believe in magic? But it certainly exists."

I said and created a magical seal, from which a cold breeze emanated while another nearby one emitted heat.

I also started to form a beautiful diamond in my hands using alchemy, creating it out of thin air.

"Or do you think all of this is my Semblance? This world is more complicated than you thought. General Ironwood knows about the maidens and magic, but not much, as Ozpin wasn't rushing to share all the information."

"..."

Winter didn't know what to say.

"So you know more?"

"Hm, and what do you want, more information?"

I smiled at her.

She didn't answer, but she clearly pondered about something, and soon we landed near the two ships.

There were already people who had come down from them as transporters flew in to drop ropes for them to board.

"There's no one left inside, right?"

I glanced at Winter.

"No, everyone has already been evacuated."

Winter shook her head.

"Sister!"

A voice cried out, and almost a mirror image of Winter rushed over, but only smaller and without such a cold expression on her face.

"Ahem, nice to meet you."

Weiss noticed me and immediately tried to appear more... composed.

"Weiss..."

Winter muttered quietly while rolling her eyes.

"So you're the sister of this cold queen? I'm Anthony Luthor, pleased to meet you."

I said this as I approached Weiss, took her hand gently, almost tenderly, and kissed it.

"I'm W-Weiss Schnee. Uh, I'm Weiss Schnee, pleased to meet you, Mr. Luthor."

Weiss introduced herself, and I could tell she was a little embarrassed by the sudden greeting as she had a slight blush on her snow-white face.

"There's no need to be so formal; I'm only slightly older than you. "

I replied to Weiss and then turned to Winter.

"Your sister is very sweet and not as cold as you. Why is that?"

I said it half-jokingly.

"Weiss, what are you doing here?"

Winter ignored my words and stared at Weiss.

"Does Father really want to take me back? "

Weiss asked hesitantly trying not to look Winter in the eyes.

"Possibly, I haven't spoken to him. Did he call you?"

After a sharp nod from Weiss, Winter clenched her fist slightly barely noticeable from my position.

"Let's talk after we're done here. Anthony, are you going to do something, or are you just good at chatting?"

Winter asked somewhat provocatively evidently hurt by my previous words.

"You make my heart beat faster, Miss Snow Queen..."

I made a playful bow causing Weiss to smirk.

After all, I'm not exactly short, and I can be considered tall compared to her.

Well, I'm exaggerating a bit, but the fact remains that I'm more than a head taller than the girl.

"Alright, let's lower these airships."

I said this and began manipulating the earth pillars to slowly lower them all simultaneously.

The sight of such a huge contraption slowly descending was impressive judging by Weiss's expression.

"What... what is this?!"

Weiss exclaimed.

"Is this Semblance?!"

"It's magic."

I said it with a serious face.

"I don't have an aura for there to be a Semblance."

"Wh-what are you talking about?!"

Weiss's eyes widened in a mix of disbelief and understanding... that I was spouting some nonsense.

"Weiss, why are you talking like that? I guess Beacon has completely spoiled you."

Winter shook her head now recovering from what she had seen.

"It's magic."

I repeated this while lifting a handful of earth and creating small diamonds and sapphires.

After that, I stepped closer to Weiss and gently took her snowy hand pouring all of it into her palm.

"This is also magic, or rather alchemy. Anyway, I'll go lower the second airship for now."

I repeated the same procedure with the second ship.

...

"What kind of Semblance is this?"

Winter said in a strange tone, approaching Weiss and picking up a couple of minerals from her hand.

"Are these our family glyphs?"

Weiss raised her voice slightly, noticing the magical seal beneath Anthony.

"I don't know, but it certainly looks like it, although the color is different."

Winter furrowed her brows slightly.

"M-maybe... maybe from father..."

Weiss stuttered while noticing the magical seal appearing beneath Anthony.

"I don't know."

Winter replied a bit more sharply than necessary.

"Our... father could do many things, and I wouldn't be surprised. But he doesn't look much like him only in some places."

...

"Oh, a Grimm?"

I noticed a Beowolf stuck somehow in the earth pillars I created.

They didn't all emerge from the same spot but they appeared to grow like trees at some distance from each other.

It seemed that the unfortunate Grimm got caught there.

"Ladies, who wants to show what they're capable of?"

I glanced casually at the two sisters.

"It's just one pitiful Beowolf."

Weiss said this and reached for her sword.

"Hmm, try doing it with Summoning."

Winter suggested.

"Easy."

Weiss answered, nervously swallowing, and made a glyph under her. She then sped up to meet the Grimm.

The Beowolf seemed to sense her nervousness and lunged at her.

"Your glyphs are very similar to magical circles."

I commented while approaching Winter.

"What can you do with them?"

"It depends on intention, but there are a lot of different things. Summoning defeated enemies is one possibility. And your... magical circles?"

Winter clearly wanted to call them something else, but she went along with it out of pure respect.

"Hmm, good question. I can perform various elemental spells, although I'm not particularly talented in that area. Earth magic is what I'm best at as you may have already noticed..."

Weiss was having trouble summoning her creature while I was talking about myself.

At first, she swiftly approached the Grimm and tried to summon it immediately, but nothing happened aside from a white light behind her.

Now, she's been trying for a few minutes while getting more exhausted with each passing second.

"Hmm."

I grunted and created a stone spike that pierced the Beowolf's head from below just before it could hit Weiss with its paw.

Winter was also ready to intervene.

If Weiss hadn't been constantly trying to summon, she would have handled it without any problem.

"Wh-why? I was almost there!"

Weiss shouted in our direction furrowing her brows and clenching her left fist with her sword still in her right hand.

"You're tired and have consumed a lot of aura."

I said.

"You know, I can help you with mastering Summoning."

While I don't summon anyone myself in that way, but...

"A second passed, and a stone golem formed from the ground, five meters tall, and I see you're expending a lot of energy on concentration."

"And why would you do that? "

Winter couldn't help but ask.

"Can't I help a pretty girl I like?"

I raised an eyebrow... and it seemed I began to behave somewhat differently and more relaxed in this world.

In the DC universe, I'm constantly worried about what might happen, about alien gods or human ones who might be interested in me, and much more.

I don't have to worry about that in this place because there are only two gods, and even they aren't very strong compared to someone like Darkseid.

"Moreover, she has great potential, and she is diligent judging by what I see."

I threw in a couple more compliments.

"And don't worry about her; if necessary, I can heal her. I could restore a leg or a finger if needed."

I waved my hand dismissively.

"A leg, a finger?"

Weiss heard herself say.

"I apologize for my previous outburst..."

I stepped towards her and gazed into her blue eyes.

"Ahem."

Winter drew attention to herself.

"Thank you for helping with the airships. "

Winter said it sincerely.

"You and your team saved many lives..."

"Like Weiss and other hunters in Beacon also saved many lives."

I waved it off and looked at the Bullheads that had arrived, with whom people in Atlas uniforms emerged.

"You mentioned healing."

Weiss redirected her attention to herself.

"Can you really heal and even regrow limbs?"

Weiss's gaze became... more demanding.

I smirked.

'Yes, my powers allow for that. I can create a fully functioning living body over time, so regrowing or attaching a limb back is no problem for me. They probably don't believe in magic, and they likely just think my Semblance is quite useful.'

"My friend needs help!"

Weiss exclaimed and grabbed my hand.

"Shinoa came with you, right? She fought with the red-haired psycho Faunus terrorist, the one who cut off Yang's arm!"

"Yang, the fiery blonde?"

Weiss nodded still not noticing she was holding my hand.

"I don't mind helping you especially since we need someone to tell us about this place. We're not from here, and we hardly know anything here."

"Are you from Vacuo?"

"Weiss."

Winter spoke up, and when Weiss looked at her, she gave me a meaningful look, and Weiss finally realized she was holding my hand.

She quickly jumped back a couple of meters from me in one leap.

Winter decided not to send Weiss away as the academy isn't currently operating, and their father recently took away their friends.

Blake has disappeared completely as Weiss told me, so staying alone was uncomfortable for her.

Then, the three of us flew back together, and Weiss often cast glances my way.

I was already on the ship, headed to my cabin first, and met Shinoa on the way.

"Administrator-kun, would you like to spar?"

Shinoa asked while holding her scythe her expression unchanged.

"I saw how you fight, and I want to have a match with you."

"What about Rias?"

"She's not a close combat fighter."

Shinoa replied.

"Agree, and... if you win, then... you can do whatever you want with my body."

She said it embarrassedly, but her eyes showed that there was no embarrassment there.

"Oh, alright, let's go. And I don't need your body; you're not grown up yet."

I said while smiling slightly, and I could almost feel the burning glare directed at my back.

The "arena" itself was a place where soldiers could train. It wasn't big, but it was enough for close combat fighters.

"Shinoa, don't damage the ship... too much. Well..."

I stomped my foot on the arena and strengthened it with magic.

"Alright, let's get started."

"As you wish, Administrator-kun."

Shinoa smiled and struck her scythe against the floor causing a rumble and sparks.

"Aren't you going to draw your sword?"

"Hmm, if you insist."

I drew the Cinnabar Spindle. The sword seemed glad that I was using it again.

"Then I attack."

Shinopa lunged towards me with the huge scythe.

I met the scythe's direct strike with my sword and easily pushed her back, but she skillfully twirled the scythe in mid-air, and the blade ended up near the back of my neck.

However, Shinoa's move didn't catch me off guard and she didn't succeed.

I had fully assimilated Albedo.

She was quite fast especially when surrounded by the black energy of her cursed weapon, but it was still not enough.

From what I could tell from her story, she was the perfect vessel for cursed weapons when she was young, and it made her stronger.

"You're really a genius."

I smiled when Shinoa struck again, this time with skilled blows that considered my height and my weapon to try to catch me off guard.

But all of her attacks were blocked, and she couldn't even move me from my spot.

However, I cheated a bit and used magic to attach myself in place. Otherwise, I would have been knocked over by her blow.

The weapon in Shinoa's hands ignited with a black aura, which began to grow rapidly within this black energy.

Then, a figure seemed to appear in black steam while holding a sword with which it attacked me.

Meanwhile, Shinoa jumped back and sent black energy slashes at me.

I easily blocked the sword of this dark figure, and my sword simply cut through all that dark energy.

Next to me, an iron golem appeared from a magic circle. It took those energy slashes on itself and was torn apart.

The first strike of such energy simply tore off its arm, and the second one destroyed a third of its body from the top down.

"Not bad. Is your scythe alright?"

I decided to ask since I blocked her attacks with a sword made of divine metal.

"It's hard to damage a cursed weapon, and if it does get damaged, it repairs itself... but never mind, you won."

Shinoa reduced her scythe's size and looked around.

"It looks like Administrator-kun will have some more fans..."

Shinoa covered her mouth with her hand.
