Chapter 6

Kira was currently seated in one of her casinos watching people lose games and throw more money into her pockets, when her phone started to ring.

"Lin Yang? what is it?" She asked calmly.

"Hey boss. I just heard the chief shouting in his office about asking the 'freak in a bat costume' for help." A young voice sounded from the other side.

Kira hummed I'm understanding, "Who was he talking to?" She asked curiously.

"Detective James Gordon, everyone in Chinatown knows the guy showed up at your place, so I thought you'd want to know in case it was related." The cop answered.

"You did the right thing Yang, keep and ear out for anything else you hear about Gordon, myself or batman....Your moms in hospital right?" She questioned curiously.

Kira heard his voice hitch for a moment, "Yea she is, so is my dad actually." He spoke depressingly.

"I'll pay for your dads bill and give him a job, then you two can work and save up for your moms"

Kira hung up the phone and rushed back to her home.

...

Central Chinatown

In her mansion Kira began to make multiple calls to all around the district, first thing she did was make sure at least 4 men were allocated to each rooftop in Chinatown. She wanted the streets to teeming with her subordinates keeping an eye out for batman. Every store she didn't own was given a number to contact if they saw the dark knight. She stationed more men both inside and outside her Warehouses.

While she didn't have much authority in Gotham, Chinatown was hers, she practically owned the place. She wasn't as big as Falcone, but her foundation was stronger. If batman wanted to waltz into her district it wasn't going to be easy. Meanwhile Kira would be patrolling the territory herself, keeping an eye out for the masked crusader.

She swiftly put on her outfit along with the mask and flew into the distance.

...

Above the streets of Chinatown Kira watched as the streets bustled with people, there weren't many lamp posts but that was made up with the number of Chinese lanterns that lit up the streets.

She had been out there for over an hour watching for batman. Every 15 minutes she would call each of her rooftops to check in with her lookouts. It wasn't until she called a specific lookout that she got no answer.

*WHOOSH*

With a powerful flap of her wings she sped towards the location. Kira arrived just in time to see Batman, who had some how managed to get past quite a bit of her security, surrounded by her unconscious men. Jumping off a building he grappled onto the next.

Still invisible Kira flew down, pulled out her Tanto and cut the rope attached to Batman's grappling hook. The Dark knight fell from a decent height, however he managed to land in a roll and negate most the damage.

Now stood in the middle of the street surrounded by bystanders Batman knew he'd been found. Just as he began observing his surroundings to find his assailant, he heard a whisper in his ear.

"Leave this place Bats" Quick as ever he turned around and swung his arm, only to hit an old man that was passing by.

Batmans eyes widened as he realised he struck the wrong guy, the voice was distinctly feminine. Seeing the stranger attack one of their own, not to mention an elder, people began to throw things at him and curse in Chinese. A few even came running from their homes with weapons.

Deciding to retreat bats pulled out a remote control and pressed a blue button. Seconds later the crowds shouting was drowned by the sound of a roaring engine. Everybody quickly parted as the famous batmobile pulled into the area and sped toward batman. Gothams protecter sidestepped his car and skilfully jumped through the open door into the drivers seat. His mind was working overtime to figure what had happened. Whilst driving away it seemed somebody was accidentally pushed into the street. Rapidly slamming the breaks he managed to slow the vehicle, but it wasn't enough. Batman hit a young teenage boy with his car.

Before he could finish processing the situation a loud scream sounded from behind him. A young girl with an expression of agony was holding tightly onto the elderly man he had mistakingly hit earlier. He was still on the floor and had stopped moving entirely.

As Gotham was discussing Batman's wrongdoings, the real perpetrator behind both deaths was currently holding a public party in Chinatown. Everything was free, including the drinks so most people thought this was Kira's way of giving back to the community after the loss of two of their people. When in actuality this was Kira's way of celebrating. Tonight Batman had come to investigate her, but instead everybody hated him. He would have a lot of backlash to deal with and it'd take a long time to gain Gotham's trust back, in the meantime Kira would be busy expanding her empire. Batman was weak and now was the perfect time to strike, and Kira was certain she wasn't the only one thinking like this.

She didn't plan to stop at Chinatown. No. She wanted the whole goddamn city. Up next on her list was East end, it's a notorious region in Gotham City and it encompasses Crime Alley. The area is famous for its muggings and street walkers, it also happens to neighbour Chinatown. It was the place where batman started, where his parents were shot right in front of him.

No gang controlled the district as it held a close place in Batman's heart and he always patrolled it harshly. Kira had already contacted her lawyers to draw up the contracts needed to by many pieces of property in East End that could be bought. The ones that weren't for sale... well the owners would change their minds. She had been generous with the prices, and although it was affordable the cost would put a small dent in the gangs money. Not to mention she planned to buy more later.

It was because of this reason Kira had already booked a train ticket to Metropolis.

...

It was less than a week later that Kira stepped off her first class train and onto the streets of Metropolis. She was wearing a smart black dress with black boots, white gloves and her usual glasses. With her was also two large suitcases she struggled to move. Her dress had two holes in the back for her wings so she didn't have to rip anything.

Even with her glasses Kira was irritated by the ridiculous amount of sunlight this city had to offer. She had gotten so used Gotham's doom and gloom that she had forgotten other cities weren't the same. Looking around there were countless people and happy families roaming with a laugh or smile. A drastic contrast.

Kira raised her hand, stopping a cab. "Metropolis Bank please." She said politely getting in the taxi.

It took them over 30 minutes to arrived due to the large amounts of traffic in the city. Kira paid the cabbie and walked to the nearest alleyway. 'Nearest' meaning she had to walk for over a minute.

Once she managed to find a relatively private spot she activated her invisibility and unfurled her wings. Kira flew into the air along with the two suitcases and landed outside the bank. She walked in unseen and began to intangibly search the place for where they kept an eye on things

After a few minutes of searching Kira managed to find a room filled with multiple screens and two men. On the screens were cctv footage of the entire bank. Pulling out two silencers Kira aimed at both of their heads.

*𝐡𝐴𝑁𝐺* *𝐡𝐴𝑁𝐺*

Both of them dropped to the floor as their blood splattered over the controls. Kira stepped over the bodies and grabbed a bottle of water from her suitcase. She poured the water over all the controls and watched as they began to fritz out. Sparks flew and the screens all switched off, she swiftly exited the room, shut the door behind her and began to search for where they kept the most money. Yes she wouldn't be caught on camera anyway, but they would know the thief could turn invisible which would make her easier to narrow down.

The bank was so massive that it took her much longer than expected to find the large silver vault with 5 guards standing on the outside with guns. Kira stepped through unhindered and was welcomed to the sight of multiple shelves filled with gold bars and cash.

"Jackpot" she muttered happily.

Not wasting any time she got to work with taking as many bars of gold and cash as she could. She was in their for a long time until the two suitcases were filled to the brim. Closing them tightly she couldn't lift it due to its drastic weight.

Kira grabbed onto the handles and activated her intangibility, and as if by magic the two heavy suitcases weighed absolutely nothing. Unfurling her wings she took the sky and flew through the roof of the bank, flying all the way to a 5 star hotel she had booked for her stay in Metropolis. On arrival the goods were left there. She continued to go back and forth up to 4 more times until the banks alarms sounded when someone found the two dead security guards.

Kira had probably managed to score more than $10 Million from the bank, which was more than enough to financially support her endeavours back in Gotham.

....

A day later Kira was back in Gotham and swiftly sold all the bars of gold to anyone who was willing to buy, mostly Falcone. Along with the cash she got it totalled to a little over 13mill.

Robbing a bank couldn't always be her goto, it was inefficient and unprofessional so she drew up a few plans to increase her income. One being a tip Falcone had given her.

Now came her second problem, the current businesses. She needed have the illegal ones placed under a different name just in case the activities were discovered. Otherwise she'd take the fall.
